Volume 1 - Chapter 22: High Ghost

"What would you like us to do, sir?" Adara respectfully asked.

"Nothing? Didn't I say that if you fight it, you will die? It's even more dangerous for me," Aaron replied, looking at Adara with a strange expression on his face.

"But sir!" Nicole exclaimed. Upon hearing this, Aaron quickly covered Nicole's mouth and whispered, "Have you gone mad? I told you it's very dangerous, and yet you're shouting." He then gently released his grip on her mouth and said, "I'm sorry, sir. I momentarily had a wrong thought. I didn't realize it and I apologize."

"Even though I have just met you, I have taken you under my protection. Your reason for coming here is to gain experience. Experience is not something that comes from killing someone. Remember that," Aaron said, looking attentively and gently stroking Nicole's head, adding, "Watch."

After all the conversations, Aaron suddenly disappeared from the front of the group. He swiftly transformed into a woman and stood in front of the monster. Without wasting any time, he began using the aura of the goddess, which had enough significance and allowed him to use abilities consecutively.

After using the ability, a dense darkness descended upon the sky and the earth. Aaron, with glowing eyes, stood in the darkness, staring at the monster with a stern and threatening gaze.

He drew his sword and held it at the ready. He hadn't noticed it before, but the darkness he used had become even darker, almost pure. It was probably the effect of his class, but the impact was truly magnificent. He could feel that his power increased in a purer form, even if the amount remained the same.

Aaron swiftly used his transition ability and launched an attack on the ghost, aiming to force it back into its true form. What made the ghost truly powerful was not its affinity for fire or being a ghost, but its ability to drain power from the bodies it possessed. It was a being that could grow stronger faster than other monsters as long as it survived.

That's why Aaron made an attack. Even though it was in the form of a woman, it was still a ghost. As a result, the sword inflicted only a minimal amount of damage to the creature. The system indicated the remaining health on the monster, and Aaron realized that he had dealt insufficient damage.

"Low-Level High Ghost 100%/100%."

"Are you kidding me?" Aaron was surprised. The monster had already become so strong, but what bothered him more was that he had not been able to inflict significant damage on it, even with his limited abilities. He needed to use everything he had.

However, he had plans to weaken the ghost, and the most effective way was through its vulnerabilities. Every monster had at least one elemental weakness, and the ghost had vulnerabilities to four elements: lightning, ice, water, and earth. These elemental attacks would deal extra damage to the ghost because they harmed the ectoplasm of ghost-like spiritual beings, thus reducing their spiritual energy.

Knowing this, Aaron activated his Black Ice Flower ability. As a result, the battlefield began to freeze, and the ghost let out a small scream of pain, "Syaaa!!" Hearing this, Aaron stepped back slightly and stared at the ghost. The reason for his surprise was that this ghost had a significantly weaker defense than expected. It wasn't like a normal ghost; it was a high-level ghost, even though its defenses were abnormally weak. Although his ability was powerful and targeted its weakness, this was a high-level ghost.

Then suddenly, the ghost's female form began to distort and change. In about 5 seconds, a ghost at least the size of a wardrobe stood before Aaron. Seeing this, Aaron spoke:

"You finally returned to your true form, you coward."

The ghost, understanding what Aaron said, became angry and activated one of its abilities. As a result, the ghost's surroundings lit up, and chains made of flames emerged from its back. About 50 chains, seemingly materializing out of thin air, started flying towards Aaron.

Seeing this, Aaron began to dodge the incoming attacks with agility. At the moment, he was not facing any trouble because his agility stat was exceptionally high, and on top of that, his transition ability was almost reaching its limit.

Aaron managed to dodge almost every attack, but he was struck by one chain on his shoulder. He felt the pain quite intensely and knew that he would feel it for a long time. However, he also knew that he didn't have time to writhe in pain. Thus, he quickly took out the "Ice Totem" item from his inventory and, evading the final chain coming towards him, poured the ice totem onto his sword. A system notification appeared:

"The weapon enchantment slot has been opened. Automatic infusion of 'Ice Totem' and the infusion item 'Black Katana' - Do you want to combine them?"

"Of course!" Aaron shouted.

"The enchantment has been completed... Enchantment successful," read the notification. As soon as he saw it, Aaron immediately activated Elajiah's Wrath ability. He spread the increasing aura onto his right arm, where he held the sword. Then, using his transition ability, which had reset its cooldown, he made a move towards the ghost.

"SYAAAA!" The strike was successful, and the ghost let out a high-pitched scream. The scream was so intense that Aaron felt his own aura being pierced. He took a step back and checked the ghost's health gauge:

"Low-Level High Ghost 45/100"

The strike had inflicted exactly 54% damage to the ghost's health. With another attack using his abilities and sword, Aaron could kill the ghost.

"Haha, it backfired on you!" Aaron laughed.

The ghost, burning with intense pain, activated another ability. When the ability was activated, crimson flames seemed to dance on the ice field, almost commanding Aaron to kneel.

Aaron was familiar with this ability. It belonged to one of his friends in his previous life, who had the class "Hereditary Ghost." This ability granted the user the skills of a high-level ghost, allowing them to pass through almost any material. It was a valuable espionage-class skill.

The ghost had begun to use this ability, known as the "Long Flame of Hell." It created a set of flames with high temperature that constantly revolved around the user, serving as both a shield and a weapon.

Seeing this, Aaron smiled and looked at the ghost, then spoke:

"What a waste. This ability won't work on me." And he was right because he possessed the "Black Ice Flower" ability, which was a higher-level skill than the ghost's attack. It could even withstand the flames of the "Flame Totem," which was one of the most powerful flames one could acquire.

At that moment, the ghost understood with fearful eyes that the person in front of them was their complete opposite.

Although this ability's attack could be considered weak, its defense was among the strongest. No one could deny that, except for someone from the Constellation class who could break through it. In this situation, this ghost was nothing more than a joke.

Aaron only needed to make one more attack, and he knew it. That's why he tightly gripped his sword and ran towards the ghost. The ghost looked at this human, who was much smaller in size, with terrified and lifeless eyes.

Aaron could feel the fear the ghost felt. The ghost's aura had undergone a significant change and was shaken. It was completely upside down.

The ghost didn't know what to do and continued to rain fire spells upon the human in front of them. But Aaron kept running towards the ghost with every spell thrown at him, getting closer with each attack. Finally, with less than 3 meters between him and the ghost, Aaron leaped into the air and made his final move towards the ghost.

"SYAAAAA!!!" The ghost let out a final scream of pain and agony, and the screams suddenly ceased. Then, Aaron turned around, looked at the massive ghost lying on the ground, and spoke:

"You pushed me harder than I expected. If I didn't have my Black Ice Flower, I would have been in trouble." If anyone had heard Aaron say this, their jaw would have dropped in astonishment. After all, it wasn't the ghost who was powerless; it was just that Aaron was excessively powerful.

After finishing his words, Aaron heard a few voices behind him:

"Master!"

"I hope you've gained something." The whole group was astonished by Aaron's words because everyone present was aware that this battle was completely one-sided. Aaron had thoroughly overwhelmed the ghost.

While the entire group was experiencing this shock, Aaron noticed a system notification appearing in front of him:

"Low-Level High Ghost D Level slain, obtained Lucky Pouch.

Leveled up by 3."

Indeed, it was a great advantage for Aaron that the mini boss monsters in small areas and cities were weak. This situation made his tasks much easier. Of course, these monsters could be terrifyingly dangerous for other people, but Aaron's knowledge and experience almost made him invincible. It wouldn't be wrong to say that he was lucky.
