THE JOURNEY BEGINS

The next morning I packed my bags and got ready to leave after giving a final at my room.

When I reached my building gate, I was taken by surprise to see Jake already waiting with his car.

This was quiet impressive. Never had I ever heard of him being so punctual.

Infact a day before, he had left me stranded. Perhaps this was his #no 100th change that I noticed since yesterday.

Good morning Bella, how are you today? asked Jake.

I replied him back with a 'morning' and 'I am doing well' with a massive smile upon my face stretching my mouth wide enough.

He took this forceful smile as a glint to make an end to this conversation and start our journey towards the destination. It was a four hour drive by car.

This gave us an opportunity to notice the neighbouring areas and collect certain points which might be helpful for the research work.

I didn't know driving so it was all his task to drive for 4 hours which off course was quiet difficult. But I was relieved since this was not the first time he was driving for so long. He had done that earlier.

We started our journey at 6 am in the morning.

It was quiet early and I was sleepy but I couldn't since I had heard somewhere that if someone sleeps near the driver, the driver would feel sleepy too considering the very less no of hours of sleep you had that very night.

Initially none of us brokered a conversation. Finally after about 15 mins of grave silence, Jake broke the ice.

Did you have your breakfast, asked Jake.

To which I replied with a 'no' and 'i don't have an early eating habit'.

Then we will stop Midway and have something', said Jake

I replied with a simple 'okay'.

Both of us went silent for few minutes.

This time I was the once to break the silence.

Me - Should we listen to some songs.

Jake - Yes sure. Let me play a song.

( Thinking out loud by Ed Sheeran is being played in the background )

I stared singing the song along with Jake. He had a very pleasant voice. And I was obviously familiar with that since he was the college champion.

'You know this is my favourite song' I told him.

'Oh well lucky me' came his reply.

It took me sometime to realize and understand his statement.
