123 Ch. 120 - I got Zinged!

'Fuck! I think we just Zinged!' Jin almost wanted to slap his forehead at the realization and wanted to tell Mavis that they Zinged but seeing Mavis's confused face, made him think otherwise.

'No, maybe it's just a fluke. Zing shouldn't have any effect on me, right?' Jin adjusted his collar so he could have some space to breathe even though he doesn't need to as he could hold his breath for a whole week without passing out.

'But, I still need to assess this matter seriously, if such a thing is real in this world, then it is very powerful as it could affect someone's mind to like the person they just Zinged with even though they only just met.' Jin could feel the threat that this Zing is posing. Luckily, he doesn't seem to be affected by this. Or that's what he thinks.

"Aren't you....mad at me?" While Jin was worried about the existence of Zing and how it could affect someone's personality just because fate deemed it necessary, Mavis was worried about another thing and that is if Jin was mad at her for dragging him all the way to her room.

"No, it's fine. I understand." Jin shook his head and replied, since now he knew that the Zing is probably affecting Mavis's personality towards him, he could only feel pity for her since she doesn't know that the Zing is influencing her mind.

One thing that Jin hates the most is being controlled or manipulated without any consent or doing it without the said manipulated person knowing that he or she is being manipulated.

"Uhm, about bringing you here. I wasn't thinking properly, I'm so sorry for bringing you here." Mavis could only look away in embarrassment and apologize without looking into Jin's eyes due to her shyness.

"It's fine. In fact, I also want to get to know you." Jin shook his head and replied. Since he's already here then there's no point in refusing Mavis, lest she might get hurt if he refused.

"Really!?" Mavis almost jumped in excitement before gathering her composure and calming herself before continuing.

"I mean, thanks, I guess." Still, Mavis was still shy but not as much as earlier.

She felt like Jin is very approachable and a friendly person.

"So, uhm. Ugh, I have so many questions earlier but now I forgot about all of them." Mavis complained and palmed her face.

"Calm down. How about I'll be the one to ask questions this time." Jin patted Mavis's shoulders just to calm her down.

"Hooo~ okay, okay." Mavis calmed herself down, she knew that she mustn't show an embarrassing side to Jin or else she might dig a hole and bury herself from the sheer embarrassment.

"Alright, let's start." Jin then sat beside Mavis, making her blush a little bit but wasn't as bad as she blushed earlier.

"First question. How does it feel to be a Dracula?" Jin then proceeded with the first question which Mavis answered without any hesitation as if it had been rehearsed.

"It's both good and bad. Though I wish people would know me as Mavis Dracula herself instead of knowing me as the daughter of the Great Prince of Darkness, Dracula. Bleh bleh bleh." Mavis responded with a small but funny imitation of Dracula, though if Dracula were to hear her, he would definitely refuse that people see him that way.

The truth is, Mavis has been asked this question several times and almost all her answers were the same. However, at her answer this time, she wanted to humor Jin a bit so she added some jokes just to make herself not appear boring to Jin, at least that's what she thought as her face was enough for Jin to stare at for hundreds of years without getting bored.

'Sigh, I guess I'm also not immune to the Zing, huh?' At the moment of realization, Jin sighed as he knew that his current thinking about Mavis is to fall for her and make her his.

Fortunately for him, Jin could still resist a bit so he's still a bit fine except for his thoughts being a little bit inappropriate towards Mavis.

"That's all?" Jin asked again for confirmation, making Mavis fall into contemplation, thinking about what else is there in being a Dracula.

"I heard Dracula's are quite strong." Jin said with a grin on his face.

"Oh, right there's also that but uhm...." Mavis seemed both embarrassed and hesitant about something.

"...I'm....not as strong as you think I am. Although I have powers but I never truly trained them like my father did when he was young. All this time, my entire dream is to visit the human world and so far, it has brought me nothing but false hope and disappointment." Mavis looked down on the ground with sadness evident on her face. From the looks of it, Dracula's little plan seemed to have backfired a bit and the consequences are probably not what Dracula has expected.

"You know, just like monsters back then. Humans also have a good and bad side." Obviously, Jin wouldn't expose Dracula. He's a friend and friends never snitches to others. Perhaps stealing their daughter's heart is fine?

"So you mean...." Mavis slowly caught up with what Jin said but she still wanted his confirmation.

"Yes, perhaps what you just encountered are the bad side of humans. In this world, if there is good then there is evil. Both exist at the same time, they're balanced like all things should be." Jin gave his first advice to Mavis, albeit borrowing a few words from a certain mad titan.

"....You're right. What I just encountered are a bunch of bad humans! There are also the good ones!" Mavis's face beamed up and she exclaimed in excitement.

Meanwhile, Jin heard some footsteps walking towards the room, unfortunately Jin can't determine who it is but what's important is that someone is coming towards them!

"Quick! Hide!" Mavis also has sharp senses aside from Jin, so she also heard the footsteps and started pushing Jin away, directing him towards her cabinet as if she was about to be caught making out with her boyfriend.

'What the hell is wrong with this gothic vampire?' Jin's face twitched but decided to play along and hid inside the cabinet.

Anyways, even if he was about to be caught, he could simply teleport away with his teleportation ability.

*Knock!* x2

Just as Jin entered the closet and Mavis closed the cabinet, someone knocked on the door.

"Mavy Wavy! Daddy's here! Of course, he brings you fav-." Outside the door, Dracula stood straight and wanted to tease Mavis as he brought her favourite which is the scream cheese. However, when the door was opened, Mavis was so fast as she snatched the scream cheese on Dracula's hand before closing the door back down after she got inside. It was so fast that only a second had passed after she snatched the scream cheese.

"Thanks dad!" She only responded once she got back inside.

"-ourite scream chee-? Eh?" Dracula's eyes suddenly widened when he saw how Mavis just stole the scream cheese from him without even greeting him.

*Crack!*

Martha, who was beside him heard something broke within Dracula and can't help but sigh.

'She's obviously like me when I also met Dracula. Wait...' Just as Martha was thinking to herself, her eyes suddenly had a hint of suspicion as she realized that a girl would only act this way when they have a boyfriend.

'Is there a boy inside?' Martha can't help but raise her suspicions and she quickly started investigating by using her x-ray vision and peeked inside Mavis's room. As her mother, Martha doesn't need to give her daughter privacy as she feels it is her right to do so.

And she was right! But also shocked at the revelation of seeing Dracula's benefactor hiding inside Mavis's closet.

'He recently told me about his benefactor arriving here and after comparing this man to the person that Dracula was describing to me earlier. I'm 100 percent sure that this is Dracula's benefactor!' A sweat formed on Martha's forehead and rolled down her face as she realized this shocking discovery.

'Should I tell Drac? No, he will be heartbroken if he were to know this. I must keep this a secret.' Martha then casts her eyes on Dracula, who stared blankly at the door.

'It's for his betterment to not know about this. And besides...' Martha then glanced back at the room with her x-ray eyes still open, directly looking at Jin who was standing still inside the closet with his eyes closed.

'...He's not that bad. There will come a time where Mavis will find her partner and I believe that he's not that bad.' Martha smiled as she finished her thoughts.

Meanwhile, Jin felt like someone was staring at him but there was no harm to it so he just let it be. What he didn't know was that someone has already approved of his relationship with Mavis even though they're not officially together.

Yet.
