The Subway Station

At the Kronos Facility, Barnes enters Burton's cell.

Barnes: Comfy?

Burton: Not really....

Barnes sits down in front of Burton.

Barnes: You know; I remember the last time we were here; only I was in chains last time, and you were in my position....

Burton: You killed my brother....

Barnes: Colin was good man, but he had the baggage of emotions...he was a friend....and it pained me to kill him....you failed him as a brother.

Burton charges at Barnes, but the chains hold him back.

Burton: Fuck you!

Barnes: Hey....at least, you still got a son....and I promise you when I find him; I'll bring him to you and I'm gonna kill you.

In the APC, a video is shown of the encryption card with Barnes before his death, showing the camera to the Bio Room, where there are multiple canisters of the Python, Cobra and Venom Virus rounded in a cylinder like machine and loaded into a nuclear missile called the Oasis.

Ryan: Dante, if you're watching this, that means I am dead, but it also means that you can stop this. Shed some light and honor to my name. For twenty years, the world has been ripping each other apart due to my selfish actions. This missile right here, the Oasis, it holds every single Python, Cobra and Venom Virus that I have made. With Barnes in command, he's going to use this to launch this to what remains of California. The only way to deactivate this machine is to enter the Oasis Chamber is highly radioactive and two people have to operate it to control it. One on the controls. The other in the chamber. Dante, as your brother, this is the only to atone for what I've done to you. I'm sorry for everything I did to you. I love you, big brother.

The video shuts off.

Kyle: So, it's simple: get to the Washington Kronos Facility. Find and destroy the Oasis.

Dante: You know where it is?

Kyle: I never got the tour. I didn't have access to that type of weaponry. Fuck....I wish I had known back then. This missile has a big ass yield.

Nora: We gotta go over and stop them from launching that missile.

Nathan: No, this is getting too dangerous. We've lost enough people. I say we just lay low and hope these guys will get off our ass.

Nora: and where will we lay low?

Walter: Yeah. This is Kronos Industries, Nathan....they won't stop....they never will...

James: Walter's right. We're not walking away....My Uncle gave his life to make sure no one got their stop this guy....so it can never be used again...and they've got my father!

Sarah: We're not gonna disgrace their memories by walking away from this.

Dante: They're right.

Nathan: Sarah....I don't need your input in this... No....I'm the leader here.....and I say we run and hide...try to start again....I don't fucking care....

Killen: Nathan.

Nathan: No, we can't lose any more people.

Dante: So, we just run away? If we run away, we spit on the memories of Luke, Colin, my brother and everyone else we lost. All the people who died in Cratersville.... And it doesn't matter where we go or how far....I may have been new to this world for a few days, but I already know that Kronos is ruthless. They will hunt us down and find us. Kill us. We've got a chance here. Yes, we're smaller now. There are only ten of us. They're not gonna stop until they get me...well, I'd like to see these motherfuckers try.

Nathan: All right.....Fine...anymore blood is on your hands...

Dante: There's always been blood on my hands...

Billy: Where we headed, Dante?

Dante: To the Washington Kronos Facility.

Nathan: Just like that?

Dante: Just like that....

Dante looks over to Killen as Billy puts in the Washington Kronos Facility in the GPS map.

Billy: I know exactly where that is...

Dante: You've been quiet, Killen....

Killen: Not a lot to say....

Dante: You're not doubting me, are you?

Killen: No, but I'm just being a realist. You think we can really stop them?

Dante: I don't know, Killen, but I sure as hell am gonna give it all my best until I'm dead. I met Barnes....

Killen: He's an interesting character, huh?

Dante: I wouldn't call him interesting....he killed my brother....and when I fought him, he had the same abilities as me. What does that mean?

Kyle gives a shocking look.

Kyle: It means that he's taking the Python strain, too. He's more dangerous now.

Dante: I figured. The guy took a large amount of bullets and threw my ass around to-

Billy: OH, FUCK!

Billy presses the brakes, causing Killen, Dante and Ashley to fall over. A fire starts, but James puts it out. Gunfire is heard from outside as Zeus Corps Soldiers are opening fire on the APC. The knocked over people recover and get up.

Kyle: What the hell happened, Billy?!

Billy: We got these soldiers and they're opening fire on us! Looks like Zeus Corps and they are pissed!

Nathan: Can't they just fuck off already?!

Dante: They know we're coming!

Nora: You see any way we can get out of this?!

Billy: Not with all this smoke and gunfire!....

Walter: Well, find a way fast, Billy! We're fucking cornered!

Billy: Wait, I see something up ahead.

Ashley: What? What do you see?

Billy: You may wanna get back in your seats. This is gonna be bumpy!

The others look at each other in a concerned look.

Killen: Uh...Billy...What the fuck is that supposed to mean?!

Billy: Hang on!

Billy drives the APC forward and runs over any Zeus Corps soldier in the way. Billy manages to crash the APC in the subway. Everyone in the APC recovers as Billy opens the hatch.

Billy: Freeburg Station.

Billy laughs.

Billy: Now unboarding.

The others in the back walk out of the APC hatch.

Sarah: The subway....nice work, Billy.

Killen: uhh...crazy son of a bitch.

The Zeus Corps soldiers begin to move in on their position, when Kyle goes into the APC and taps on the controls. He spots the weapons system and presses it, causing a turret to automatically conduct from on top of the APC and he automatically targets the Zeus Corps Soldiers.

Kyle: Hey, just like a video game...

Kyle starts to open fire on the soldiers. The entire gunfight is inaudible as the gunfire and audio is mute. The other survivors open fire managing to hit few of the soldiers.

James: Someone take out that fucking machine gunner!

Killen: I got him.

Killen manages to gun down the machine gunner. One of the soldiers, however, tosses a grenade next to Billy and though the explosion does not kill him, a piece of debris smashes into Nathan's shoulder, who screams in pain as Nora tends to him.

Nora: Oh, my god! Nathan!

Walter: Get him to cover!

Walter helps Nathan up and gets him to cover. One of the soldiers throws a grenade near Killen. The grenade explodes, knocking Killen out from the survivors' circle. He survives but loses his gun. Zeus Corps soldier's move onto his position as Killen pulls out a knife and stabs one of the soldiers, but one of the soldiers uses the butt of his rifle to whack him in the stomach. He is then struck in the face, knocking him unconscious.

Dante: No! Killen!

Kyle notices this and tries to open fire on Killen's captor, but only manages to hit one of them. A juggernaut of Zeus Corps, wearing different armor appears an opens fire on the survivors. Pinned down and nearly out of ammo, Dante notices the electrical wire that is above the Juggernaut's position which is in water.

Kyle: Fuck! This turret's out of ammo!

Sarah: They're closing in!

Walter: I'm out of ammo!

Dante shoots the wire as it falls into the water, causing the Juggernaut to get a full shock. Billy grabs a grenade and tosses it to the Juggernaut as it explodes. The survivors recover. A few moments as the Juggernaut stands up, until a grenade launcher blows his head off.

Dante: Whoa! What the fuck?!

Kyle: Hey, Nathan, how you doin?

Nathan: Just a flesh wound. I'll be okay.

Nora: Nathan....

Nathan: I'll be fine.

Dante: They took Killen.

Walter: Forget him. If they haven't executed him, he's dead already.

Dante: What do you mean "forget him"? We have to go get him!

Subway Survivor: Don't move!

A group of survivors aim their weapons at the Cratersville survivors as Walter and James aim his guns at them.

Subway Survivor: Put your fucking guns down! Now!

The group lowers their guns as a tattooed man approaches the group.

Xavier: What the fuck are you doing in my subway?

Later on in the inner subway station where few citizens are seen walking around. On the top floor, James, Walter, Sarah and Ashley waiting outside an office, while Dante, Kyle and Nathan are talking to the subway leader.

Xavier: I'm Xavier. This is my town. We take in some people that we can tolerate.....You say you were chased by Zeus Soldiers?

Dante: Yeah....

Xavier: Why?

Nathan: It's complicated and a long story.

Dante: Look, Xavier, we just need a place to stay. As you can see, we're a small crew.

A few seconds of silence as Xavier stands.

Xavier: I've been waiting for the day to see Kronos burn for everything they've done to this planet. 

Xavier turns to Dante, Kyle and Nathan. 

Xavier: One night.....That's all you need. Use whatever you need, weapons, medical supplies, and we'll patch up your friend, but tomorrow morning, I want you gone.

Dante: Thank you.

In the medical ward, Nora is fixing up the wounded Nathan.

Nora: Your shoulder has been damaged from the debris, but...you'll live...

Nathan: Thank you, doc.

Nora laughs.

Nathan stands up as Walter, Dante and Kyle check on him.

Walter: How are you, brother?

Nathan: I'm all right.....

Later that night, Dante, Kyle, James, Nathan, Nora, Walter, Sarah, Ashley and Billy are sitting around a campfire.

Nora: Haven't had a campfire in a subway tunnel before...crossed off my bucket list....

Walter: You know I think that virus the doc made was supposed to wipe out all of us, but somehow, we got lucky.

Kyle: It ain't luck....it's God.

Walter: Didn't think you were a religious man, Desipich.

Kyle: "God grant the Serenity to accept the things I cannot change. Courage to change the things I can. Wisdom to know the difference". It's a serenity prayer I learned while I was at a Christian Orphanage.

Dante: You know, this kinda reminds of my camping trips with my wife. 

Dante laughs.

Dante: We went to Yellowstone Park.....Amanda was feeling a little lightheaded...it was our two year anniversary....she surprised me with a pregnancy test.....it was the best memories with her....This is gonna sound fucked up, but I'm glad she didn't live to see all this.

Nora: You remember her?

Dante: Yeah....got a picture, actually...

Dante passes the picture of himself, Amanda and Harry to the group, who smile and approve.

Nora: Your wife is beautiful.

Ashley: Oh, man! Look at how young you are! You look like a baby yourself.

The Cratersville survivors laugh.

Ashley: Dante...what was the old world like?

Dante: It was beautiful for me...I had a great family...I miss them....Hopefully, I get the serenity to accept that I may live or die today; tomorrow....a couple days....months...weeks...years from now... Courage to try and save a life. The wisdom to know the difference of sanity and rage.

Billy: Rage turns us into monsters. Worse than the ones we fight. Our sanity is all we have and the people we love and die and will die years or days later, help us keep our sanity.

In the Washington Zeus Corps Facility, Barnes walks into Killen's cell, who looks up and smiles. The next morning, Dante, Kyle, Walter, and James are loading up on weapons.

Kyle: With the help of Xavier's merchants, we've got some upgrades on our guns. 

Kyle checks the weapons.

Kyle: Used the last of our caps.... Grenade launcher. Kyle checks the bullets which some have skull imprints on them) Ohh....busters and shockheads. They're effective. Aim for the head with this.

Walter: Oh, damn, steel kill bullets. This is the shit Zeus soldiers uses in their guns, right?.....Got to say though, our chances with stopping Kronos and rescuing Killen are shit....there's only seven of us and a whole fucking army of them.

Dante: We gotta try, Walter.

Walter: My dad used to say before he died....doesn't hurt to try....that was before he hung himself...

Sarah approaches with a rocket launcher.

Sarah: What about this?

Kyle: That could come in handy.

Ashley: Yeah, if this was World War three.

Nora loads a shotgun.

Nora: It's been World War three in the last twenty years....

Billy is loading up his sniper rifle and pistol as he notices Nathan groaning from his injuries.

Billy: Are you good to travel, son?

Nathan: I'm not sitting this out, Billy.....I'm the leader, you know?

Nathan walks over to Kyle.

Kyle: You still don't trust me? Still want me gone?

Nathan: I don't know if I should. Considering we lost half of our goddamned group in over the past few days. You've proven yourself. I give you that.

Kyle: You don't really think we can rescue Killen, do we?

Nathan: No....I don't...but Dante wants to try and he is one of us.

Dante and James, who has Colin's crossbow armed around him, are checking their weapons together.

James: So after this....what will you do now?

Dante: I don't know...Maybe find a city that will take me in.....

James: What do you mean? You're not saying you're gonna leave us, are you?

Dante: Well, I want to stay, but too many people have died....and I feel like I've brought nothing, but death, pain and misery upon your guys.....James.....I didn't get a chance to say that.....that I'm sorry about Colin....your Uncle was-was a kind and good man. He cared about you. What he did was very brave and won't be forgotten in vain.

James: You know, before we started this...I didn't even believe you...I thought you were just another crazy old man that would wind up slitting our throats while we sleep...But after Cratersville, after what your brother and my father told us, after....Uncle Colin.....I'm starting to have faith....My Uncle and Ryan believed in you, Dante...so do I...

Dante: He was proud of you.....and he loved you like a son. I see that now....

Dante tilts his head to notice Kyle, who is checking weapons. Dante then approaches Kyle, who looks down at the table with his hands on the table.

Dante: Hey, kid.

Kyle look up at the reflection to see Dante.

Dante: You ready for this?

Kyle: You sure if he's even worth rescuing, Dante? If any of these people are?

Dante: So after this, what do you plan doing?

Kyle: I don't know, Dante.

Dante: I know these people could use some help rebuilding....regrowing....

Dante turns to Kyle.

Dante: You could be apart of that.....

Kyle: And still considered to be the outsider along the way?

Dante: Eventually, these people would warm up to you. They kind of already are....

Kyle sighs.

Kyle: I don't even know these people, Dante. Hell, I barely even know you.

Dante: Yeah, you don't.

Kyle: Dante, I appreciate the effort....but sooner or later, all these people will die.....and it's just best not get close to anyone.....and can't consider these people family.

Dante prepares to speak, but then Walter approaches the two.

Walter: Guys.....it's time.

Outside the subway town, the group is driving different buggies while Kyle is on a motorcycle. Dante is with James in the first buggy, Walter, Sarah and Ashley in the second, and Nathan, Nora and Billy in the final buggy. Xavier approaches them.

Xavier: The Northern Kronos base is on the hilltop. Just follow the giant tower. Good luck.

Dante: Thank you.

The group drives off. Later on, the buggies parked on a hilltop as Nathan, Kyle and Dante are watching the Washington Kronos Industries base.

Dante: Let's do this.

The four drivers start up their engines as Dante looks at Kyle then at Walter and Nathan. Dante presses on the gas with strength as he drives towards the base with the others following her. They are quickly spotted by a sniper.

Zeus Corps Sniper: Hostiles!

Zeus Corps Sergeant: Send out the Rhinos! Right fucking now!

The Washington Kronos Industries Facility gates open as armored advanced vehicles drive from within the gates.

Kyle: Here they come.

Walter: Damn! Their rides are more advanced!

The Rhino Vehicles and two motorcycles shoot at the three buggies and Kyle as they narrowly miss. Nathan drives while Billy shoots back, but the bullets have no effect.

Dante: Spread out!

Kyle and the vehicles separate from each other, avoiding the plasma shots by the Zeus Corps vehicle turrets.

Zeus Corps Driver: Hostiles are spreading out! I repeat hostiles are spreading out!

The Rhino vehicles chase each of the vehicles. Kyle is shooting at the motorcycle men with his submachine gun. Dante is driving as James shoots at the vehicle. He manages to shoot the passenger in the head. The turret man shoots at Dante and James as the dodge their shots.

James: shit!

Dante: This is going to be fucking harder than I thought.

Walter, Sarah and Ashley are chased by two armored vehicles. The turret man shoots plasma shots at them as it hits the ground near them.

Walter: Whoa! What the fuck?!

Sarah grabs the rocket launcher from behind the buggy. Sarah aims at the Rhino vehicle. Walter drives over a small rock that bumps the buggy. Sarah falls down as she accidently fires, but the missile hits a cavern that causes the support beams the fall, crushing one of the vehicles. Ashley looks on as she laughs. Nora manages to use the shotgun to blast off one of the tires of one of the Rhino's, causing it to crash. Kyle shoots one of his pursuers in the head as he crashes into one of the mountain. Dante continues shooting at the armored vehicle as one of them rams into the buggy, causing it to skid. Dante falls off, but manages to grab the armored vehicle. Dante tries holding onto the vehicle, and after a few moments, manages to climb on the vehicle, before he snaps the neck of the Rhino turret man. Dante then grabs the turret and shoots the driver as the vehicle starts skidding. Dante then manages to climb to the front of the vehicle and starts driving.

Dante: Oh, shit....

Dante is pursued by more Rhino armored cars, until James rams into one, causing it to crash into the other. The two then drive up to the gate. Dante presses the buttons on the screen to see weapon choices.

Dante: Turrets. Rockets....plasma rockets...well, that works...

Dante activates the weapon selection and a top of the vehicle, a weapon automatically sets itself up and shoots the attacking vehicles with a plasma shot. He manages to take down three vehicles as James drives up to Dante. Nathan and Billy are pursued as Billy is seen aiming his sniper rifle at the tower snipers. Billy shoots down a sniper as Nathan seems intrigued.

Nathan: Damn!

Billy laughs.

Billy: Still got it for an old timer!

Meanwhile, Kyle is pursued as he drives his motorcycle up a hill. While driving up, Kyle spots a floating Kronos Industries uplink and drives off the hill, before he then jumps off the motorcycle and clings onto the uplink. The motorcycle pursuer jumps off his bike and grabs Kyle's foot. Kyle kicks him in the face. The Zeus Corps soldier equips a blade as he scratches Kyle's leg. The soldier then climbs on the uplink and grabs Kyle's jacket and pulls him up. He then slams Kyle's head on the uplink. He then tries to punch Kyle, who blocks the punch and punches him in the face, before then kicks the soldier in the chest. On the tower, a Zeus Corps rocketeer spots the two fighting on the uplink and equips his rocket launcher. He then fires a rocket at the uplink. Kyle continues punching the Solider in the face, eventually knocking off his mask. Kyle prepares to strike again, until he spots the projectile missile coming towards them. The Soldier then head butts Kyle as he falls off the uplink. The Soldier then hears the missile closing in as he turns and screams. The missile hits the uplink, causing it, along with the soldier, to explode. Kyle falls onto the hill and rolls down the hill and onto the ground. Kyle stands up and wipes the dirt off of his jacket as he spots Nathan, Nora and Billy drive up to him.

Nathan: Excuse me, miss. Do you need a ride?

Kyle: shut up.

A Rhino turret man gets on the turret and shoots at the buggies', disabling Kyle's, Nathan's, Billy's, Nora's, Sarah's and Ashley's vehicle.

Ashley: Fuck!

Billy: We're down! Dante! Where are you?!

Walter is driving.

Walter: Hang on, Billy. I'm coming!

Suddenly, a Rhino armored vehicle slams into Walter, causing him to crash into the mountains.

Dante: Walter!

A Zeus Corps Rocketeer aims his rocket at Dante and James' buggies. James swerves in front of Dante, taking the rocket as it turns his vehicle sideways, but he crashes into Dante. Minutes later, Dante recovers from the crash. His vision is fading and blurry as he spots James being dragged into a truck. A Zeus Corps soldier approaches Dante and grabs him.
