Chapter 3

Eclipse POV:

My bag thumps on the floor as I slip into my house. My eyelids feel heavy with sleep, but I know sleep won't come for a while now. Even then, it won't be restful. I groan as I rub my eyes before turning on the lights in the hall. My mouth turns down in a frown as I look at the substance on my fingers. Guess it's time to do some cleaning again.

I shake my head as I wipe, what I assume is dust, off on my jeans before walking into the Livingroom, turning the light on as I move to go to the kitchen. More dust falls from the fan as it begins to rotate, making me sneeze as it burns my nose and throat.

"What the heck?" I grumble to myself about dust bunnies and my serious lack of cleaning.

The room suddenly sways as I enter the kitchen to grab a glass of water. I groan as I catch myself on the counter and rub my eyes as I try to clear them. What is wrong with me? My hands shake as I reach for my phone to call Steven, the doctor at the Academy. Whatever was going on, this isn't normal.

The phone slips from my hand and falls to the floor as I curse. I lose my balance as I reach for it, bracing myself for the impact of the cold floor. What I didn't expect was for strong arms to catch me and pull me against an equally buff chest. My senses sharpen as I realize the situation I'm in, but, before I can do anything, a sharp prick in my neck and a cloth over my mouth makes me freeze before struggling against the hold. Everything around me blurs as I try to keep from breathing in. My hopes of fighting off my attacker are quickly diminished when I realize that whatever he had injected me with had started to work and my movements became sluggish.

"Sleep well... My love." A masculine voice says as darkness consumes me.

Later

I slowly open my eyes as I blink away the blur in my vision, trying to clear my thoughts. Memories of what happened flood my brain as I jerk to a sitting position. Looking around, I find myself in a large bedroom. The décor was all black and red, including the bed that I am sitting on. My eyes widen as I take in the dress that I'm now wearing. It was a simple white wedding type dress that flowed to the floor with a sweetheart neckline. I had silver cuffs on my wrists and some kind of band was wrapped around my waist underneath the dress.

"Oh hell no." I growl softly, and the words I had heard flit through my mind.

The door flies open, making me jump to my feet as I whirl around. My face hardens to stone as I narrow my eyes at the man in front of me. He had black hair and mesmerizing blue eyes. I felt myself start to get lost as I stare at his eyes and shake my head before giving him a glare. His mouth twitches up into a smirk as he strides into the room.

"Ah you have awaken. I trust your sleep was peaceful darling." He smiles at me, but it doesn't quite reach his eyes.

"Cut the bull. Who are you and why did you kidnap me?" I snarl at him, watching as he face hardens.

"Be mindful of your manners, dearie. I am Derek Strate and you should start to respect me. You are here to be my wife after all."

I can't help but laugh at the statement before grinning at him, hiding the uncertainty I'm feeling.

"Seriously? You must be crazy if you think I'd ever marry you."

"Oh, you will. The only question is; Will it be the easy way or the hard way?" He smirks, his eyes twinkling with amusement.

I give him an 'Are you serious?' look, and he sighs. Pulling his sleeve back, he presses a button on his watch and the cuffs on my wrists suddenly come to life. The metal breaks down and separates, revealing the Dry Ice that had been hidden inside. My skin hisses as it touches the band. I grit my teeth as I try to focus away from the pain and go to step towards him. He sighs once more and I hear the belt around my waist separate, making me scream as the Dry Ice touches my abs. I fall to my knees as the pain overwhelms me.

"Come now my dear. Just give in and the pain will stop." He says as he walks towards me and bends down to my height.

"Screw you!" I growl in pain, "You can do whatever you want to me but I refuse to marry you."

His jaw ticks as his eyes harden. He reaches out and grabs me by the hair, forcing me to stand with a small cry. He drags me to a window and makes me look out of it. On the lawn stood a missile launcher that looked ready to launch.

"That is set to your home planet. It's ten times worse than a nuclear bomb. Still want to try me?" He growls into my ear.

My body shivers as his breath fans over my ear, making my core heat up. Seriously?! I mentally curse my body as I see him smirk at me.

"Fine..." I growl before he let's me go and presses a button that closes the bands.

I rub my sore wrist as he goes to step out of the room, stopping and turning to grin at me.

“Good girl.” He chuckles before clapping his hands, and two girls run in, “Girls get my bride ready.”

The girls rush over to me, guiding me to a chair. One girl grabs the makeup and starts to put it on my face as the other fusses with my hair. Moments later they turn me to look into a mirror at my hair that is curled into waves and out of my face, and the blue eye shadow that accents my eclipsed eyes.

The door flies open once again and the girls run out as a blonde man steps in. The man pulls me to my feet and out the door, placing my

arm in the crook of his own. I gasp as I look at the décor around me, but the wedding march rings through the air before I can look any closer at the white lilies and gems that litter the room.

The man beside me gives my arm a slight tug as he leads me down the aisle towards the front where Derek and an officiator stands. Derek reaches out and grabs me, pulling me close as we near the officiator.

“Just remember what happens if you don’t say ‘I do’ ” he whispers harshly into my ear as he leads me up the steps to the altar.

I zone out as the Officiant begins, trying to think of a way out of my current situation. I'm suddenly brought back to reality as Derek squeezes my hands hard.

“I… I do.” I answer, looking away from Derek’s unpleased face.

“We won’t be doing the vows.” He informs the Officiant, grabbing the rings.

He roughly jams the one ring onto my finger before slipping on his own.

“Then I now pronounce you, Husband and Wife. You may…”

Derek interrupts the officiant as he grabs me by the arm and takes me

back to the room.

“I should punish you for that little blunder but luckily for you I have some business to take care of. Get dressed and be ready for me when I return. My man will be back to check on you.” He growls at me before slamming the door closed, leaving me alone in the room as the sun sets outside my window.
