Choosing second to come first

It begins a bit rough but improves as it progresses just due to it being my first work, the world as everyone knew it changed, John though refused to bend or bow, well others seemed to be corrupted and changed by there choices John kept his sanity, or rather had no sanity to hold onto as the voices in his head that others beside his best friend dismissed as imaginary become more prominent, as he sets out to make his mark he learns the nature of the changes to the world, finding out more and striving to get stronger and to kill the so called gods who where responsible for it, but everything comes at a cost. So just a small heads up, it starts a little rough but I can promise it Improves as the chapters go on, a bit slow but it's my first real novel so hope you all enjoy it :-) Ps. This story is writing itself, so all the twists and turns are by its own choice as I'm just the one putting it on digital paper as odd as that sounds, share a stone if you like it and I'll also try to keep as consistent as I can with updates.

Chapter 75

Chapter 75

"How did you know that name! I knew it! You are a damn dog! Well jokes on you! Everything here us clear and clean and above bored!" Z practically hissed at him.

"I just used the skill you sold me; my class did the rest to boost it a lot further that's all so calm down, if I was part of them wouldn't I have tried something after seeing so much of your personal stat?" He told Z, not wanting to get on their bad side and was instead had hopes of conducting future deals with them.

With narrow eyes they slowly nodded, still glaring at him but agreeing with the logic but wondering just how much he really saw.

Not wanting to make things worse John recommended to Ash to talk to Z about what she wanted to know and so on, adding that it would be a bit more private as he would keep Alice busy.

Biting her lip Ash nodded slowly in agreement and proceeded to do exactly that, Z still glaring at John though but seeing him toss another coin quickly caused them to concede to the request.

"So see anything interesting?" He asks getting a nod as she began to point out all sorts of things, from a razor whip to a pony toy that seemed like it was straight from hell with blood dripping all over it and sharp teeth bared, not entire sure how that could be classed as a weapon John felt it better not to pry and recommended she instead try something was more comfortable with like a good knife or something similar, not wanting to risk her cutting herself to ribbons with the whip or chancing Satan's little pony.

After a full 10 minutes Alice finally settled on a vampiric dagger that would heal its host dependent on the amount of blood it drank from the enemy and a large white ribbon bow for her armour that could increase or decrease in size and length along with being slightly stab resistant, as for John he chose a blacksmiths hammer for a weapon feeling it would be of use till he could create his own and a blacksmith chain mail apron as his piece of armour, but planned to ask about some carving knives for the same purpose once Z returned.

"Is there anything else you want Alice? I don't mind trying to get you or Ash another item or 2 within reason." He asked her, planning to be gentler with the pair after reading some of their details but received a negative response from her who told him she didn't want anything else right now but will gladly take him up on it once she decides on who next to be getting a smile and a promise from John to which she smiled brightly and almost squealed in delight.

"Well aren't you two having fun, what did I miss? Or was it just more filler again like a Naruto episode?" Ash asked popping up between the pair and taking them by surprise.

"Nope, but if your done I wanted to ask what weapon and equipment piece you wanted, also ill give you a extra item if you see something you like." John told her getting a blank look of surprise in response.

"I want the armour breaking battle Axe and arm guards of strength and then the snake chains and no take backs!" She tells him full of excitement after processing exactly what he had said getting a chuckle from him.

After confirming their choices Z seemed ecstatic about their choices and especially so when John paid 6 coins for the armour breaking axe. Admittedly he did feel something was wrong at the time especially since she pulled the entire 'no returns and no refunds' thing again and sold the Axe for what he felt was below its value but kept silent, hoping this would show some sincerity and build a good foundation for future works together,

It was right afterwards when he appraised them did he realize why they were practically given away, for Ash the chains required a person to verbally command there actions and even then it only accepted simple orders such as 'stab forward' or 'wrap around my waist'. If they where to be used for battle or fighting they would also need to first be ordered to unwrap, they also couldn't target and required the user to do so, the axe was extremely heavy and well it could break armour it only counted for that of normal or below quality and even then the weight made it difficult to use, the bracers at first seemed to have no real issues as they doubled a persons strength yet soon they realized they aren't easy to remove and the double strength took time to adjust to.

Alices bow seemed to have some slight fraying and her dagger couldn't be used yet as Z had to stop her form touching her, informing her that she should first feed it blood and only when its full should she use it, with a reminder to keep it fed.

Oddly enough the hammer John chose had no downsides other than not having been appraised, Z felt it was a waste to spend on it and John lucked out as it carried a chance to increase the created items quality, the apron though well perfect for working at a forge seemed to be extremely heavy, well not cumbersome it definitely would make him slower. Well trying it on though the cloak seemed to engulf it like it had the armour before with Lesh much to Z's surprise, soon it once more changed, it grew slightly heavier but a faint chainmail pattern could be seen almost woven onto it along with what looked like flames and small red sparks giving it a unique appearance.

"How much for the cloak! I want it! Tell me tell me tell me! I will gladly trade or pay for it! How's 700 no 650 coins sound! Its really generous! And ill throw in 40 no 30 more gatcha tickets! You could win something much better!" Z screamed as they launched themselves at John and examined the cloak catching him off guard and by surprise.
