Chapter 2 : The New Normal

Sabrina woke up to the sound of silence. It was an eerie silence, one that she had never experienced before. The world outside her window was blanketed in a thick layer of ash, the aftermath of the apocalypse that had taken place just a few weeks ago.

Sabrina got out of bed and walked to the window. The streets were deserted, and the once bustling city was now a ghost town. The only sound she could hear was the distant howling of a lone wolf. Sabrina knew that this was the new normal, and she had to get used to it.

As she got dressed, Sabrina couldn't help but think about her friends and family. She wondered if they were still alive or if they had been taken by the dark forces that had caused the apocalypse. Sabrina knew that she had to find them, but she didn't know where to start.

Just then, there was a knock on her door. Sabrina cautiously opened it to find her Aunt Zelda standing there, holding a tray of food.

"Good morning, Sabrina," Zelda said, smiling weakly.

"Good morning, Aunt Zelda," Sabrina replied, taking the tray from her.

"I thought you might be hungry," Zelda said. "It's not much, but it's all we have."

Sabrina looked down at the tray. It was a simple meal of bread and soup, but it was better than nothing.

"Thank you, Aunt Zelda," Sabrina said, gratefully.

Zelda nodded and walked away, leaving Sabrina alone with her thoughts once again.

Sabrina ate her breakfast in silence, thinking about what she had to do next. She knew that she couldn't stay in the house forever, and that she had to venture out into the world to find her loved ones.

After finishing her meal, Sabrina got dressed and made her way to the front door. She took a deep breath and opened it, stepping outside into the cold, barren wasteland.

As she walked, Sabrina noticed that the world around her was changing. The trees were barren, the sky was gray, and the ground was covered in a thick layer of ash. The air was thick with a strange, acrid scent that burned her nostrils.

Sabrina walked for what felt like hours, until she finally stumbled upon a group of survivors. They were huddled around a small fire, looking scared and weary.

"Hello?" Sabrina called out, approaching the group. "My name is Sabrina. Are you okay?"

The survivors looked up at her, their eyes wide with surprise.

"We're fine," one of them said, cautiously. "Who are you?"

"I'm just a survivor like you," Sabrina said. "I'm looking for my family. Have you seen anyone?"

The survivors shook their heads, and Sabrina felt a pang of disappointment.

"Can I stay with you for a while?" Sabrina asked. "I don't have anywhere else to go."

The survivors looked at each other and then nodded.

"Of course," one of them said. "We could use all the help we can get."

Sabrina felt a sense of relief wash over her as she sat down by the fire, grateful for the warmth and the company of others.

As the night wore on, Sabrina listened to the survivors' stories. They were all just like her, trying to survive in a world that had been turned upside down. Some had lost their families, while others had been separated from their loved ones.

Sabrina realized that she was not alone in this new world, and that together, they could help each other survive.

As she lay down to sleep that night, Sabrina felt a sense of hope for the first time since the apocalypse had taken place.
