Chapter 6

It was supposed to be a normal day but suddenly, a whole neighborhood was disturbed a little after hearing a loud music when they were just peacefully living their normal lives.

They looked at where the noise come from through their windows and saw a black luxurious car.

"Daddy's home~"

The noise was getting louder as the car was getting closer.

The music still played until it stopped with the car, after that, Gilgamesh came out wearing a plain black hoodie, now no one recognized him as the unknown famous cosplayer.

Seeing him as the music stopped, the neighborhood continued what they were doing and minded their own business.

He started walking toward Ai's apartment, of course he knew where it was after all, it used to be their 'love nest'.

Gojo didn't follow him as he didn't want to ruin a family reunion, time wasn't something they lacked so he'll just take his chance to give his gifts later.

Arriving at the front door, with his enhanced senses he could detect two presence inside, one was giving a ocean blue thick aura while the other was giving a blood red aura, though thinner, it was larger than the blue one.

He smiled seeing this, 'Fucking monsters...' though he already expected this, he still couldn't help but become happier when he witnessed it himself.

He was someone who had witnessed the cruelty of the supernatural since he was young, so knowing that his kids were strong even at a young age, he couldn't help but become happy, strength was something he'd welcome with open arms, after all, what else could protect you except strength?

Of course he was there to protect them but he wouldn't be able to stay by their side in all their life time.

Suddenly, he noticed the one with red aura moved towards him, she was now at the back of the door.

'He's here...' Ruby was having mixed feelings again, 'He was supposed to be released after I turned 10, how!? What happened!? I haven't done anything yet so butterfly effects aren't possible... Unless...'

Thousand thoughts and possibilities ran through her head, she then shook her head and decided to not think too much about it for now, her father was in front of her, it was supposed to be a happy reunion.

The door slowly opened revealing Gilgamesh wearing a black hoodie, and as soon as he removed it, Ruby widened her eyes, it seems like she was surprised seeing him younger from her memories.

"Huh..?" She suddenly felt a wetness in her eyes.

'I'm crying?' Memories from her first life that she wanted to forget came in her mind and unconsciously cried.

She tried to hide her tears by wiping her eyes but she felt an embrace, it was so gentle as if he was afraid that if he added more strength she would collapse.

She knew who it was so she hugged him back and covered her face with his chest.

She wanted to stop crying, she was an adult inside, but she couldn't, memories that she thought she had forgotten became clearer when she saw Gilgamesh.

"There there..." Gilgamesh's softly muttered as he patted her, he didn't know how to deal with kids but he tried to be gentle as much as possible.

"I'm sorry..." He apologized, but he knew it wasn't enough, he wanted to apologize through actions, he will definitely pay for the years that he wasn't with them.

Seeing the fragile state of his daughter, he cursed himself.

'I was reckless... There was a way to annihilate them without being imprisoned, but my anger made me rash...'

Gilgamesh felt like shit, he cursed himself again for being stupid.

'I failed... As a father... And probably as a boyfriend...' He wanted to punch himself for not knowing that Ai was pregnant.

'I will take responsibility for my failure.' He resolved himself, he was going to make them the happiest family.

Gilgamesh closed the door, and walked towards a sofa and sat.

Ruby was now on his lap as he waited for her to stop crying, until she did.

She looked up to him but there was seriousness in her expression.

"Father, we need to talk."

"!?" Gilgamesh was taken back by the sudden seriousness.

"Huh?"

"I see..." Gilgamesh was a little bit surprised, only a 'little' because he knew how fucked up the world is.

Apparently her daughter was a 'regressor', someone from the future who came back in the past as her younger self.

'So that's why...' There were true pain in her tears while at the same time she looked happy, it wasn't an expression that a kid should wear.

"You must've been through a lot... I just wish that the future me was there for you..." He hugged her with the same gentleness while he softly rubs his hand to her hair.

"Don't worry father, you were there for me... But..." She bit her lips, she was trying to not cry again.

"I'm sorry, I can't say more than reveal that I regressed, if I do, 'she' will interfere, I'm the only one that's given a chance, if I reveal the future events to you, it's also like giving you a chance. It also frustrates me father, knowing that there is someone out there observing us while looking at us as if we're toys, I know that you're strong father, but you won't be able to defeat her with the current you."

"..." Gilgamesh was taken back by her, she basically made the conversation short by predicting his reactions.

"Don't worry Father, I won't let anything happen to you, Aqua and Mother... I will make sure of it..." Her crimson eyes started to lose its color...

He was 100% sure that she was his daughter, but seeing her now, he became 200% sure.
