The Legend of Blood City Part 1

Clayd left them on the intelligence department to choose their first official case. Red told them to follow him to the bulletin board to choose what case they will solve.

"Bulletin Board?" The squad asked

"It's a board where the cases are pinned into, all the detective squads go there to look for some cases to solve..... We are here! "

The squad looked at the 20m×20m bulletin board where bunch of papers are pinned on it with a shocked expression on their faces. Not because the bulletin board was gigantic, but because there were only 20 papers on it, but those 20 were immediately gone in a few seconds.

"What!!"

"How can we pick a case if there is nothing left on the bulletin board?!"

"That's normal, those cases are crimes that just happened a while ago with no detectives station on it to solve the cases" Red said. Every second there is always a crime that happens somewhere, and those crimes with no detectives in charge of it will be posted on the bulletin board, and will then be received by those detective squad who are waiting for a new case to solve.

"Ohhh!"

"What about that case?" Leo pointed at a paper which was pinned on an independent bulletin board. Red looked at it and smile.

"That's the Legend of the Blood City, one of the unsolvable case."

"What do you mean?" Leo asked.

"Just like what the name said, it's a case that can't be solve. But actually, there are no mysteries that can't be solve, it's just that, the legend of Blood City is a complicated mystery. And the evidence to prove the criminal behind it was already lost as time passed. Well, there was actually only one evidence on it."

The Gang looked at Red waiting for him to continue.

"What evidence?" The gang asked.

"A chess board"

Red laughed and said "Do you want to hear the story behind it?" The gang's eyes lit up, as if saying the word Yes!

"The legend of the Blood City was one of the greatest mystery in this country. This city was actually the desolated R City. "The gang became shock. Why? The R city was one of the city of Country P which was really prosperous on those past years when it was still not turned into ruins.

"It was said that the mystery was a battle between the Director of this Headquarter and a Criminal Mastermind. And the setting of their battle was the City R. It started with a simple explosion of 8 coffee shops on the city, which was then solve by the director but he failed to find the culprit behind it."

"He solved it but failed to find the culprit behind it?" Leo asked doubtful. If he solved it then why can't he not find the culprit?

"Simple, he solved how the 8 coffee shop explode at the same time but failed to find who triggered the explosion."

"Then how did it explode?" Leo asked.

Red smiled and continued "Let me finish the story. After the explosion, it was then followed by 2 malls, 2 police stations and 2 churches exploding. First, He found out that the first explosion happened at the same time, while the next explosion didn't happened at the same time, but instead it was the 2 malls first, then followed by the 2 police stations and lastly the 2 churches. Second, He speculated that there must be someone controlling everything in the dark, and he guess it correctly."

"Realizing that, he immediately thought of collecting all the evidence and posting all of it on a bulletin board, and unexpectedly, the mystery behind them got solved when he finished posting everything on his bulletin board. He discovered that it represented a chess board, which means those explosions happened because the mastermind was setting up his pieces, which represented all those places that exploded!"

"8 coffee shop represents the 8 pawns the 2 malls represents the 2 rooks, the 2 police station represents the 2 knight and the 2 church represents the 2 bishop." Red paused for a moment. He signaled everyone to follow him to a room beside the independent bulletin board.

When they got inside, Red opened a drawer and then he grabbed a brown folder on it and put it on the table. Afterwards, he grabbed a map inside the folder and slid it in front of everyone.

"What the!" They discovered that it really looked like a chess board. The 2 malls was located at both ends of the R city, which really fitted the role rook because it was in the border of the R city, like a tower to defend the R city. Then the 2 police stations which was near the 2 malls, it also fitted it role knight because, police, defender of the people, just like a knight. The 2 churches which is was near the 2 police stations, it also fitted it role because a bishop is the same as a priest, only higher. And lastly, the 8 coffee shop. It was located on the front of the 2 malls, 2 police stations and the 2 church, that's why it really fitted the role pawn.

"If this was really a chess board, where is the queen and the king then?" Leo asked. He was curious. In the map, he can't find where the king and queen is located at.

"You see that?" Red pointed at the part where the left bishop's location is at. The gang looked at where Red pointed at, and then they immediately became dumbfounded.

"Queen Bee's Honey Farm?! Is the mastermind so lazy that he choose that as the representation of the Queen? How about the king? Let me guess, Burger King?" Leo said sarcastically. He was really dumbfounded because the Queens location was something with a literal Queen name on it.

Red smile and then he pointed at the right side of the Queen Bee's Honey Farm. The gang followed where he pointed and then they became dumbfounded again. It was because Leo guessed it correctly, the king was represented by the burger king.

"He sure knows how to work smart." Marvin said. He was thinking that since there were no location with the name of the pieces on it, so maybe that's why the mastermind choose something which is something related to those pieces. Example the church for the bishop and the police station for the knight. But since there was a place where the name King and Queen on it, the mastermind immediately choose it as the representation of the King and Queen. The same as the saying that goes, don't work hard, work smart!

"Going back to the point. After setting up all the pieces for the black side. The mastermind didn't moved anymore, not until the director finish setting up his pieces. Afterwards, the game started. The moves of the mastermind was the same as how the pieces of the chess moved. Pawn can only move forward and can only eat the opposite side pieces in side ways, and so on and so forth. And all of those happened inside the city. Not even an inch away from the R city!" Red said putting a group of pictures above the table

"You mean the whole R city was the board?" Vanessa asked in shock. If what he said was right, then it only means, that all the lives on the city were also part of the game.

"Yes! Everything on the city were part of the game. From the people, buildings and so on." Red said with a smile
