How Could It Be Too Late?

Alla was in a daze, as if she could hear someone whispering in her ear. 

She couldn't make out the words, and while she tried to lean in to hear better, she found herself unable to move. 

She didn't know how much time had passed before the voice by her ear gradually became clear... 

"Alla, you've been unconscious for three days. When will you wake up?" 

This time, she heard clearly. It was Maggie's voice. 

She opened her eyes, but found that her vision was blurred. 

She could only vaguely make out Maggie's silhouette, but couldn't see her features. 

She wanted to touch Maggie's cheek, but her hand was so weak that she couldn't lift it. 

It was then that she realized how dire her condition was. She probably didn't have much time left... 

"Maggie..." 

Maggie, who was wiping her body, heard Alla's weak voice and promptly dropped the towel to grasp her hand.
