THE WEDDING

“Ash, you?”

A beautiful, petite figure was pushed and tossed to the ground after the ring had fallen on the cold floor. Her whole body was screaming in pain. Her curly tied bun had turned ragged and messy. Not only that, but her white dress had gotten torn, and bruises were beginning to form on her wrists.

Cold eyes were glaring down at her in hatred and revulsion. The man was her fiancé who she was to walk down the aisle that day yet, he was looking at her like a plague. 

What broke her heart the more was how he encircled his arms around that woman. Amy Easton. Her step-sister and best friend.

The look on his face was so hostile and bone-chilling. She wondered how someone she loved so much could hate her to that extent. Of all people, she never expected them to betray her. Not them. Why them?? Her heart was broken.

Amy hissed at the frail woman in disgust. She wrapped her hands around the man possessively.

“Brother Ash, you won't ever leave me, right?” Her cozy voice inquired from the man. Who wouldn't fall for such a woman??

Out of the sisters, May was the gullible one while Amy was the bold one. Men do like the bold type and not the shy ones. That got Ashton to be tempted by this woman.

May looked at those two, her heart being stung. She called out in pain, “Ash, please don't do this, I love you”!

“Bitch, don't you dare call my name. Who gave you the liberty to call me? Get the hell out of my sight…do you think after being fucked by some strange man, I would still marry you? Over my dead body” He snapped at her, his voice dangerously meager.

May felt a pang within her heart. She did that for him. Didn't he say if she slept with that man, he was going to marry her? What went wrong now? Her sights became blurry.

“You made me do it, ash…why are you breaking me?”.

The two had been childhood friends and betrothed together from Little. She had dedicated all her life to him. She had always been the susceptible one pursuing him around, doing all he said, but now…how did it end like this?

Furthermore, she had even slept with a stranger for him, but now, he denies it.

“Ashton, you made me do it…why are you making me the villain? I did all that to have you. You said if I slept with him, then you would marry me… I just wanted to become your wife”

Ashton glared at the woman in animosity. His cold eyes pierced through her. May shivered at the cold stare.

“Then doesn't that make you absurd and unsuitable to become my partner? You think a man wants a woman who can be easily tricked. I like women who are bold and sexy but look at you, though you are beautiful and come from a respectable lineage, see how you are crawling for my love”

Amy rolled her eyes at her sister and kissed the man's lips.

“Ash, we should leave her and get married” She pouted. Ashton's eyes softened and deepened the kiss, “Yes, sweetheart”.

For the first time, May cried out in front of the man. She was pleading with him not to break her heart. She was begging, but the two didn't bother with her nonsense and went on with the wedding.

The guests in the church watched the scene in awe. Their mouths moved nonstop as they mock and taunted the spoiled princess of the Easton family.

May felt her soul draining away from her body when the pastor finally concluded the wedding.

“ I now pronounce you, husband and wife…you may kiss the bride”

“Noooooooooooooooooo” She screamed, her blurry eyes losing the conscious sense of light. 

Did she just fall from grace?

Inside a room, a figure woke up to find herself in an abyss of darkness, unsure about what was going on.

She stirred up in fear until she heard a familiar voice.

“You are awake, that's good” the voice cried in a tone of disdain. May began to wonder how she had failed to see that person's tricks. 

“Amy, why did you do this? Why did you snatch him from me? You don't even love him…why? WHY?” She yelled. But she didn't cry.

The slender woman began to laugh cruelly. She squatted down and sneered, “I wanted to destroy you…to show father how incapable you are. Did you think I didn't know about our father transferring the property in your name? How could he be so cruel to me? I am also his daughter, but all he cares about is his beautiful angel. May. For once, did he think of me? No!! Just because I am an illegitimate child” The woman dragged May's hair and screamed “I will make sure you never survive today…your whole beauty will be destroyed” She laughed maniacally. 

“Amy, you've gone insane…father loves us both equally. You are mistaken, let go of me” May winced in pain.

“Say your last words, sister and don't you worry, your brother Ashton is safe with me and as you can see, I am pregnant with his child…hahaha, hahaha” 

May paused in surprise as she cried, but the tears weren't because she was in pain. They were tears of resentment.

“Then my wish is for you two to live happily” She murmured bitterly.

Quickly, a sharp object had struck her elegant countenance. May moaned so loud in pain. Amy didn't even spare her face as she caused a long mark with the knife on her skin.

“Safe journey to hell, sister” Amy left the storehouse and left. On her way outside, she collided with a massive physique. Her body froze when she realized who it was.

'When did he come back?'

Meanwhile, inside the storehouse.

May was still groaning as she was in a lot of pain. Her heart was slowly decreasing as she was losing lots of blood.

Just as her eyes were about to be closed, she felt she saw someone. She forced her eyes to be opened as she glanced at the person.

'Xavier? Brother Xavier?'

The tears began flowing down once more.

If she had known better, she would have accepted his proposal. She would have let him have his way with her. Even after everything, he still came for her.

'I am so sorry… I hurt your feelings'!

I pray in my next life I will see you. 

Her eyes went shut and then.......

*Boom*

The warehouse got blown up.
