ONE WEEK LATER
It's been a week since May's stay in the Su Mansion. And in those days, she had bounded with almost all the members of the family. There were times she had tried to escape but the Old Man was always ahead of her. Today was her forced marriage with that blind man.
After coming out of one marriage, she entered another one.
Inside the marriage registry, May was gloomy all through. She was sad and hurt that she hadn't married Xavier, instead, it was that blind conceited man. Nothing went her way. She didn't even know when a teardrop fell from her eyes. The man beside her took his hand to her face to wipe it off but she looked away with a heavy heart.
Alex tightened his hold on his cane. Why had he changed? Why did he want to marry her? That's because she was that same woman who he had slept with. Apart from the girl in his past, he also searched for the woman he had sex with one night. Two days before, his assistant got news about that woman and to his surprise, May was the one. That night, he always felt that woman and the girl from his past were the same people but now he wasn't so sure bout it.
"It's time to take the couple's picture" Alex's thoughts were shaken by the photographer's words. He tried to sense her mood and he wasn't surprised to know she was angry and tired. After the photographer had taken the pics, he chuckled nervously at the weird picture. The bride had an angry look on her face while the husband was saddened. Strange.
"Alright Mr Wu, the documents are complete...you two are married now" The registrar congratulated him before handing to him two red cards.

Inside the car.
May hadn't said a word after their marriage, she looked out the window and her shoulder shook like she was crying. Alex heard the low sobs and felt his heart tighten. Now more than ever, he wanted to get his eyes to sight back. He wanted to see her face to confirm whether she was the little girl or not.
The car halted.
May wiped her tears and left the car. She didn't bother with the man who was now her husband. With the help of the driver, Alex got down from the man and skilfully made his way towards his wife. He wanted to hold her hand but she moved a bit away from him with a frown.
Meanwhile, the people inside the house were excited as they heard the sound of a car. Gloria clapped her hands delightedly. Finally her dream of having a companion had come true. She opened the door and squealed joyfully.
"Welcome, sister-in-law...congratulations big brother"
"Alex, you should pamper your wife and dote on her always" Barb, Alex's second aunt cried to him. May lowered her head as she listened to them. All of this was wrong. Why did it go this way? Why did everything have to go that like? This never happened in her previous life. All she wanted was a second chance to make up for her mistake. She didn't ask for this at all.
Pamper and dote on her? She wanted her brother Xavier to do that.
Gloria noticed her sister-in-law wasn't in a good mood. Even her big brother was quiet. Did something happen?
"Sister-in-law, what's......" May took to her heels and went to her room. She threw herself on the bed. Her heart was squeezed to a huge extent. She really felt like dying. Why did she end up with strangers? And that brother Xavier, he didn't look for her to know if she was happy or safe. Did he hate her that much?
"Mother, I missed you...I need you. Only you can understand how I feel right now. They are depriving me of my wants and got me married to that man I don't love or like at all. How should I survive this mother? How?" She removed the diamond ring around her ring finger and threw it to the floor.
"Why are you venting your anger on the poor ring?" The person bent down to pick the ring close to his left foot up.
May looked at the intruder "What are you doing here? Get out...I don't want to see you moreover, I won't accept you as my husband. I have someone in my heart already. Just go"
Alex walked up to her and leaned his body against her.
"What if I don't? You are my wife...I have every right to be here. As my wife, you have responsibilities and I hope by tonight, you will fulfil that. I will leave you to rest but throughout this evening, be prepared to not even close your eyes" He leaned further and stole a kiss from her lips. Out of shock, May slapped him and ran out of the room.
