I held onto Jason as tight as I possibly could. The wind blew past us making it a little hard for me to see. When I was younger, I enjoyed the joyous rides we took together. For a moment, I was transported back to the days when I was seven years and it was just the two of us riding on a country road and the trees blurred into the distance. Now that I am part of this world, I know how dangerous it is. An explosion sounded in the distance as we fled the scene of a burning building. it was the headquarters of some criminal organisation and Cole had instructed us to infiltrate the organisation by posing as janitors and then get rid of the plans they had that could potentially put thousands of lives in danger. which we did and now we were returning to the field office My arms tightened around his waist as he increased the speed and we were moving even faster now " I thought you'd be used by now." he laughed. " well, it's only been 1o weeks." I said burying my face deeper into his jacket. soon we came to a stop in front of a large building. I looked up at it in amazement. " welcome little sis." my brother said with a huge grin on his face. " thank you." I nodded to him and he cheekily ran ahead of me and held the door open for me. a real gentleman. " well, now it's time to give you the grand tour." he said leading me further into the building. I quickly learnt that we were in the field office. " these are the desk agents, they are very important." He said as we walked past a room that had many cubicles that were occupied by many people staring at their computer screens. As soon as we turned the corner, he said, "Yeah not we just don't want to upset them. If anything, we're the ones that do most of the work." we continued down the hall and reached an elevator which we got into and Jason pushed the top floor button. the doors slid open to reveal what I guessed was a containment unit. my brother scanned his palm on the palm scanner and the metallic doors beeped before sliding open we walked in and stopped at the front desk. " hey Dez." my brother greeted the guy who sat behind the desk "Hey what's going on buddy and what brings you up here today?" Dez asked my brother "I'm giving our newest recruit the tour. as we do with all our recruits." he replied casually putting his hands in the pockets of his pants and adding "Plus, I want to check on number 368." my brother said before turning to me and saying, " stay here with Desmond and I will be back soon." he then disappeared into one of the doors. I stood awkwardly leaning against the wall. Dez looked at me and smiled "Welcome to the holding centre miss, I hope you have enjoyed your stay so far." He was about to say something else when an alarm started blaring and the lights started flashing red. He scrambled to an upright position and started typing frantically on his computer. I could see how stressed he was when he pulled up the video feed on the big screen in front of us. My brother had his back against the wall and a guy had his hand around his neck. " hey Dez can you please add volume." I said panic starting to set in "Sure thing miss." he said while increasing the volume. " how dare you come back here?" the guy who had his hand wrapped around my brother's neck. my brother choked out something incoherent. At that moment, the guy let go and my brother sank to the floor in a heap coughing. " where is that?" I asked Dez urgently "Well, I can't tell you that" he replied sadly " " look, you better spill the beans and tell me how to save my brother." I said angrily. " okay.... okay, I'll tell you... just don't hurt me." he said sounding scared. I swiped his pulse rifle on my way into the holding cells. I could hear him calling after me but I did not slow down or stop my brother's life depended on me getting there on time so I sprinted to where I could hear voices. my brother was crouched in a corner, his hand clutching his neck while the other guy loomed over him " You made a mistake coming here today and this is going to be your deathbed." the guy said while lifting his hand as though to strike my brother who raised his hand defensively but at that moment, I aimed and pulled the trigger there was a blue flash and the guy fell to the floor unconscious. my brother looked at me with wide eyes and then scrambled to his feet. after securing the prisoner, we both left the holding centre bidding Dez farewell. he then led me to a huge room that had a table in the centre and a bunch of chairs around it In one of them sat a figure with his head on the table "Hey man quit snoozing on the job." My brother said and the person raised their head. when I looked at his face, I realised that it was Alex he looked disoriented as his eyes darted around as though looking for someone else but when his gaze met mine he relaxed. " dude where is the rest of your team?" my brother asked him making him groan and say " what am I ? a babysitter" " no of course not... it's just that we're concerned for their wellbeing." I said taking a seat next to him and placing my hand on his shoulder "What is going on here?" Noah asked while glaring at Alex who looked like he was two seconds from peeing himself. I glanced between the two not understanding why they were always at odds. soon the others joined us followed by Cole who carried a stack of folders and placed them on the table before proceeding to hand each of us one.
