Chapter 4: Enchanted Forest

I Came out from the building while admiring the surroundings, the estate I was staying belongs to my family guild, a Gold tier Guild , it might not look much but its because our guild doesn't have people above Crown Rank, and my father has put in a lot of work to get here with the guild all the way from Silver tier , where he inherited it from his father, my grandfather. Looking at the estate , it looks like those advanced futuristic buildings with a touching of medieval feelings, like sculptures and fountains, well I wasn't to surprised about it, I was a programmer in a gaming company and I have seen advanced civilization settings.
I entered the Silver car prepared for me, it doesn't have wheels , it just hovers a few meters above the ground, Lydia sat just at my right hand, and then we set of, I was looking from the window and admiring the infrastructure and people around, amazing buildings that would make earth finest buildings look like an animal barn , stainless steels building am not sure if it is actually the material but it was reflecting they even had green plants all around, hovering train and airbuses , it was pleasant and a dream come true for technology lovers back Earth. After a long silent journey, my assistant spoke.
"Sir, forgive me , but I wanted to know why you decided to stop going to parties, after making efforts in getting invitations". She finally asked
" Lydia what's more important in this world we live in?" I asked her without removing my eyes from the scenery outside.
"Power". She answered
"Do I have power? Real power?"
She didn't say anything because she knows how weak i am, and my talent capacity is laughable.
"You see what people fears most is power, terrifying ones they know they cant be able to reach, and that's what am aiming for, no matter what I must get there, and going to parties wont lead me to it, it would only give me paper power, and it's not real power since everyone can achieve it". I said
" I understand young master, but while are we heading to the Enchanted Forest?"
I smiled and said
"That's only but a step towards my end goal" what was my goal? Simple be the top no matter what, I keep saying this because of how crazy and ridiculous this novel was, once am done with the item, I'll make recollections of what is happening, there are things that I didn't quite understand, if the former Luke has such a gift why didn't he use it especially when he was in a dire situation.
She didn't say anything afterward, it took us 30 minutes to get there. We got to the entrance and i was ready to go, before my assistant said.
"Young master wont it be safer if i go with you, incase of any unforeseen circumstances" Lydia asked.
"No , there's no need to come with me, if i cant handle such simple situation , them am not fit to be the next head of the guild,". With that I dismissed anything that would bring inconveniences , it's not that I don't trust her, main servants of the family usually signs a mana contract before working , so its impossible to break the oath , not only would you die but it would be an excruciating one.
"Alright young master, please keep in mind to count steps you'll take and where you turned so that you won't be lost , take care master"
Then i set off to the Enchanted Forest, there are only a few Iron and Bronze rank beast, and they are mostly herbivores, why it is called Enchanted Forest is because if your not careful , you might get lost into the forest and never been seen again. No one who got lost has ever returned or found. Well except the protagonist.
Starting from the Entrance, I counted 50 steps straight then 35 steps to the right , 10 steps to the left ,20 more steps forward, the Enchanted Forest was foggy, then i started hearing whispers, I turned left and slowly took 10 steps , where i found the fruit , small as a berry , It golden in color over flowing with a majestic aura , despite it being short the big trees around it gave it it's way.
There was no fog 2 meters around it. It was tempting but if I didnt want to die an early death, just like the skeletons taking a nap in front of me , of course this is the Enchanted forest where many people got lost there are few unluckily lucky fellow that got see it.
But because they didn't do the ritual rite before getting the fruit, they died with your soul, mana and body nourishing the fruit, so I got 2 meter close, the right is basically simple, if not of the system warning the protagonist he would have also died.
I took out a sharp dagger , drew a circle in my right palm with a cross just at the front of the circle, then stretched my right hand slowly till it touched something like a barrier ,the surrounding starting shining bright that made me close my eyes, it died down few seconds later, then I went ahead to take the fruit , as soon as I plucked it out the tree where i got the fruit immediately started to wither.
I immediately ate the fruits, as soon as I swallowed it , I felt warm in my entire body, but i breath out a cold air , I didn't know what was happening but , this is my ever first supernatural experience since I came to this world, so i savored it.

"Well now am done , I have to get back and rethink somethings in this novel" I turned around, and followed the steps I took from the last steps to the first steps, in no time I was outside the Enchanted forest. Where I saw Lydia anxiously waiting for me, it seems like I made her worry, I put on a smile then walked up to her.
"Is it done young master". She said even she tried to hide the fact she was relief to see me.
"Yes,let's go back to the Estate". With we entered the car and went back home.
