17 Telepathy? Capture magic?

"If you want to learn Telepathy magic then I don't mind, but if you can't convince me to let you learn Capture magic then I won't let you learn it since it is better for you to strengthen the rest of your magic."

Ur didn't really want Bourne to become a jack of all trades, but master of none. She felt that it was better for him to master his way on his three state of matter from gas, liquid, and solid. It was what he had told her before about the state of the matter. There should be four states of matter: steam, liquid, gas, and plasma. But from his words, it was hard to develop plasma magic since it was necessary to strengthen his heat magic. He didn't have enough power to do it and could only do it in the future.

Ur had asked him where he learned about those matters, and he had told her that he wasn't sure. He might have forgotten his identity, but he remembered a lot of other things and somehow his memory about the previous life became clearer.

'Was it because I've lost memory of my identity?'

Bourne felt confused, but he didn't think much since he had a new life and he was living very well with Ur. It might sound cruel that he had forgotten most of his relationship and people in his previous world, but he was also helpless since day after day those memories started to get hazy. Thoughts in exchange, his memory about knowledge, technology, education, entertainment, etc became sharper. He wasn't sure whether it was something to be happy about, but life must go on and he couldn't dwell about the past. It might sound cold but well, he loved his life now. It might be hard sometimes, but he felt very satisfied with it, especially with Ur beside him.

So hearing Ur's question, Bourne didn't answer immediately but thought of an answer which could be accepted by Ur.

Telepathy is a type of magic that allows the user to be able to talk with other people through their thoughts, converse over long distances, and hear thoughts. The amount of people a magician can connect with at one time all depends on the user's own magical ability. Also, while connected with others, every one that is connected can talk with each other.

This magic was very useful, and it wasn't that surprising for Ur to let him to learn this magic since it would make it easier to communicate with each other during the quest. If he had trouble then he could use his telepathy magic to ask for her help quickly.

"I know about Telephaty, but let me read about Capture magic first since I'm not that knowledgeable about it."

"Here."

After receiving a book from Ur, Bourne read the introduction about Capture magic. He thought that it was magic to catch someone, but it seemed that this magic was more interesting than he had thought.

"So do you know how to apply this Capture magic to your magic?" Ur looked at Bourne curiously. Even though her voice was quite strict before, she knew that he was smart and even a magic which was deemed as the most useless by everyone could become powerful. She remembered his words that there wasn't any useless magic, only useless people who were too lazy to be better.

Ur without doubt agreed with that point, as an Ice-Make user, the most important thing in this magic was creativity. As long as the user was very creative then they would become stronger along with their magic, but they were too lazy to think that even if the potential of Ice-Make magic was powerful, they would be weak.

On other hand, the talent of her pupil was great. She knew that he loved to create a Dynamic Ice-Make type which was the most difficult type and often created sea creatures with it, but it fitted well with his "Water" magic. When both magic combined with each other, then the effect would be very destructive.

In Ice-Make, the caster creates ice using their magic. If the size of the ice is bigger then the consumption of the magic power is also bigger, but if there is a source of water beside the caster then the consumption of the magic power will be lesser since they can turn the water into ice since they don't need to create the ice from nothing.

Staying with him, Ur was also wondering whether she also should learn water magic, but in the end, she didn't do it since she had her pupil. She was a very powerful ice magician and her pupil could generate a lot of water. Both of them could work together very well and might even complete each other.

So looking at Bourne who seemed to have a new idea to develop his magic stronger, Ur was quite curious and waiting for his answer.

"With this magic, my strength will become several times stronger."

"Eh? What do you mean?" Ur couldn't think how this Capture magic would make him stronger.

Capture enables the user to absorb their opponent's magic by consuming the opponent whole. The user has the ability to utilize the magic of the victim that has been digested. However, it is not as powerful as the original Magic. Approximately two hours after the digesting has begun, the opponent will be reduced to nothing and the opponent's magic will become the user's permanently. Whether the user can digest more than one person's magic is unknown.

However, Bourne thought that it was possible to refine this magic better in the future. Looking at Ur who had been waiting for him, he knew that it was his time to give an explanation. "I mean Capture magic is a magic that is used to absorb, right?"

"That's true."

"Let's ignore the digest of the opponent whole, time, other functions and focus on the absorb part." Bourne didn't want to make his explanation too complex and wanted to make it simpler. "So what if I add this effect to my water magic?"

"If you add the effect of absortion into your water magic?" Ur blinked her eyes and suddenly realized something. "You can absorb everything using your water magic!"

"That's right! I'm not sure since I haven't fully learned about this magic well, but one thing for sure, my water magic will become stronger."

Ur imagined when his opponent was absorbed by him when he released the water in the surrounding area. The weakness of the Capture magic is that the caster needs to use their mouth to absorb their opponent, but with water magic, it is possible to absorb the opponent with water. The effect is bigger, but obviously the consumption is bigger. However, when she thought about Bourne's magic power, she didn't need to worry too much about him. Looking at him, she couldn't help but say, "I wonder what is inside your brain."
