The Katana man crossed his arms and was about to charge at Sam. However, before he could do so, Sam appeared in front of him and waved his sword. The katana man tried to parry it, but he failed. Sam continued his attack, and the katana man used both hands to parry. Despite being a fiend and having more swords, Sam's attack rate was higher.

Soon, the Katana man couldn't handle all of the attacks, and Sam managed to land a good slash on his neck.

The katana man crossed his arms above his head and squatted to defend himself.

Using this opportunity, Sam sheathed his sword and used the Moonlight Cut, aiming at the fiend's legs. As the silver light vanished, Sam slammed his sword into the upper part of the katana man, which met with the three katanas.

After the blow was dealt, the upper part of the katana devil man was sent flying, and guts fell to the ground.

Sam's body started losing more health points the more he used his power boost, so he undid his skill, and his veins and face returned to normal.

Looking at the Katana man, it was obvious that he could no longer fight. All that was left to do was to take out his heart.

But first, Sam reached into his pocket, took a bunch of nutrition pills, and put them in his mouth.

As he chewed, his wounds were healed, and he felt even better.

Sam stood above the Katana man, who had already transformed back into his human form. Was he seriously going to pull this man's heart out of his chest? That was cruel, but Sam had already grown used to such cruelty. He waved his sword across Samurai Sword's neck, cutting off the blood and oxygen supply, allowing his brain to rest in ease.

He then placed his sword on the man's left side.

An uncomfortable feeling suddenly washed over his heart. It wasn't his consciousness; it was his Devil Sense telling him that a devil was about to appear from nowhere.

Sam wrapped his arm around the katana man's body and vanished into nothingness.

A gigantic, super-sonic-fast body appeared in his previous spot. It was a gigantic snake, with a width so large and a length so impressive that it could wrap around a skyscraper. On its stomach, many arms appeared to be hugging it.

"She appeared. No time then," Sam muttered. He smashed his hand into the chest of the katana man and pulled the heart out.

"Don't you dare take that thing. Do you know how expensive it was?" A short blonde girl, shorter than Kobeni, appeared from behind a water tank on the roof.

Sam ignored her and instead looked at the impressive body of the snake devil.

"Man, this shaft is so big. It can make any woman shudder in fear," he said.

"I'll salute you for your composure. Not many can make jokes in your situation," she replied, walking toward him with her hands in her pockets.

<<Wind Footwork: Activate>> Sam felt a gust of wind against his face as he simply stood up.

"Jokes aside, you didn't have to summon its full body," Sam said, looking at the heart in his hand. "Come on, System. What do you want me to do? Crush it?" In his hand was a heart that didn't resemble a human heart at all; it had a face and a symbol of a katana.

The next second, he pressed his hand, crushing the heart. Blood sprayed from it and stained his clothes and face.

"You asshole! Why did you do it!?" said the blonde girl.

"Dunno? I'm a public devil hunter, so, you know…" Sam paused for a second. He then furrowed his eyebrows and glared at the girl. "In fact, I should be the one asking questions here. Who the hell are you, and why do you have a contract with the Snake Devil?"

"Very well, since you are very eager to die, I'll give you an answer," she said as the snake circled around the building, pointing its head at Sam while waiting for a signal to eat him. The snake's head was strange, as it was covered in bones and skulls. The girl lifted her head and continued, "I'm after one of your devil hunters for a contract with the Snake Devil..."

While she was busy explaining her plan, she realized that Sam had disappeared from his spot.

Sam had long gone; he had jumped off the building and ran horizontally. When he was two stories from reaching the ground, he used his sword to slow his momentum. Then, using his high-speed footwork and Flash Step, Sam vanished from sight, appearing inside a clothing store. He quickly changed his clothes, donning a hoodie and a new pair of jeans.

He saw a group of civilians running away at the sight of the snake devil.

He decided to join them in their escape.

'What kind of idiot villain lifts their head when telling their plan… she said I'd die. Bitch, please. You'll live on forever... as a joke.'

He turned his head to see the snake looking for him, but there was no use.

'Jogging away while a giant snake looks for you… sounds like good Only-in-Ohio meme material.'

Sam then boarded a bus with other civilians, driven by a very good-hearted man who led them away from danger.

'I've gotten rid of the Katana man. But that girl is the one that worries me the most...'
