Chapter Five

••••••SABER'S PERSPECTIVE••••••

As I walked out the shop, I couldn't help but smile. Something about that woman not only intrigued me but also gave me an odd feeling I couldn't' quite put my finger on. She was somehow so abrasive in how she spoke and even treated me yet adorably alluring.

Taking a few more steps so as to not light the shop on fire, I quickly disposed of the towels with my fire incantation before running off into the night in search of my prey.

Despite her answer I had already made up my mind that tomorrow I would return with them in hopes that it might impress her and change her mind.

After approximately 6 hours of traveling mainly on foot from Ràiding towards Amèr I finally stopped at 0300 and began to stake out the area. Setting several traps for my prey I found that my thoughts wondered to her. How was it that I just so happened to stumble into her shop. A healer and an apothecary with almost every supply I could possibly need on this planet.

Finding myself lost in the rabbit hole that is Adalynn, I completely missed their approach, only to be alerted to their presence when the sound of a branch breaking underfoot rings through the forest from about 100 yards to my right.

Glancing over I spot about 5 of them making their way through the forest in the direction of Brikshiné, and a soft smirk crosses my face.

"About fucking time! I better get my tranq bombs ready."

As if on cue I placed my hand into my satchel, and one hit a snare I laid for them. As the others try to free the man, I quickly dispatch two of the tranq bombs, and wait for them to take effect.

"Now hopefully Ms. Adalynn will be happy with her new subjects regardless of what she wanted me to believe."

Sitting as still as I can so as to not be spotted, I watch the mean all cough and gage for about 10 min before finally one by one they fall to the snow like dominos. Waiting for a few more seconds I smile softly to myself as I make my way towards them.

"I better start tying them up now or I won't make it back in time."

The process of binding all the men goes far more smoothly than I had hoped and within 10 minutes each man is perfectly secured and linked to the next.

Taking a short break, I looked up at the sky trying to gauge what time it was. I assumed with the walk here plus the setup, then the wait, and finally the takedown, that about 4 more hours had passed which would put the time at about 0700.

Taking a few, I calculated how long the trip would take with the extra weight and sighed. I would be dragging essentially dead weight behind me which would double my trip time.

"I really should find a cart to hide the unconscious bodies on, cause there's no way they are gonna let us onto a boat like this."

Grabbing hold of the ropes I slowly began to make my journey back scouring the forest as I did for anything that might help me get these men onto the boat unnoticed. Finally spotting one just outside a shop on the outskirts of Brikshiné I left the men in the forest and quickly snatched the cart.

Pushing it into the forest I quickly loaded up the bodies with a smile.

"Now this will be easier to pull."

Once loaded I make my past the city all while staying just far enough in the woods to not be spotted by anyone. Loading the cart onto a fishing boat I just so happened to stumble upon. It seems like today was my day and the gods were clearly looking out for me.

As I rowed the boat towards the docks of Ràiding I smiled to myself as I spotted the moon on the horizon.

"Perfect timing, she should be open soon."

As I reach the shore and begin unloading everyone, I can't help but find myself hopeful. Hopeful that this display would make her happy, hopeful at the thought of seeing her again, and hopeful because everything seemed to be in my favor today.

The truck from the shore to the shop takes only about 20 minutes, I can't help but grin as I spot the shop. Pulling the cart up to the shop's door triumphantly, I knocked loudly.

As I wait, I hear her yell out from the other side of the door, and it causes a small chuckle to escape me. This woman is just ridiculous. I mean the least she could do is get her ass up and help me with the door. After all I have been traveling for hours with the dead weight of 5 trophies for her and this is the thanks I get.

Kicking the door, I smile as it flies open.

"Hey there sweet cheeks, I got you some fellas here that would love to be your test subjects."
