Chapter 5: Han Lixian.

Everyone was stunned by the lady's bold statement. Cheng Yuze raised his eyebrows, while Mrs. Cheng frowned in displeasure. She hadn't extended an invitation to the Han Family, as members of that ancient lineage rarely participated in social events. Yet, she never anticipated a member of the Han Family making such a grand entrance at today's gathering.

Moreover, the lady before her wasn't Han Yuelin, the Third Young Miss of the Han Family. Mrs. Cheng speculated that she might be Han Lixian, the Second Young Miss, but as far as she knew, Han Lixian was currently studying abroad. It seemed unlikely for her to be present here so suddenly. Unable to discern the woman's identity, Mrs. Cheng grew even more irked. She had never seen her at any significant event before.

In truth, Mrs. Cheng was only familiar with the appearance of the current Mrs. Han, Han Yuelin, and Mr. Han. The other two young misses always remained enigmatic in their appearances. If it weren't for her son marrying Han Lixin, Mrs. Cheng might not have recognized the other party.

"May I ask who you are?" Mrs. Cheng, not wishing to prolong the matter, raised her eyes slightly, addressing the young lady before her.

"Oh, how thoughtless of me. I almost forgot to introduce myself. I'm Han Lixian, the Second Young Miss of the Han Family." Han Lixian flashed a cheerful smile, though her eyes remained devoid of emotion.

As Han Lixian finished her introduction, murmurs and discussions erupted among the guests.

"The Second Young Miss of the Han Family!"

"Isn't she supposed to be studying abroad? Why is she back so soon?"

"True! It's been years. She should have completed her studies by now!"

"Why is she here?"

"The most surprising thing is that the servant Mrs. Yun insulted is actually the Eldest Young Miss of the Han Family!"

"I heard those two sisters don't have it easy in the Han Family."

"Is it because of their mother-in-law?"

"Shh! Watch what you say!"

Han Lixian folded her arms, calmly listening to the discussions swirling around her. The smile on her face remained unchanged. She was accustomed to such situations; her family issues had long been a topic of discussion in high society.

"You haven't explained to me what happened earlier, Mrs. Cheng," Han Lixian said, directing her attention to the middle-aged woman.

"It's because your sister pushed Ningning into the water!" Gu Yutong, standing beside Mrs. Cheng, sneered.

"How audacious," Han Lixian chuckled softly, looking at Gu Yutong with disdain.

"I'm just stating the truth! Are you ashamed of what your sister did?" Gu Yutong didn't back down, continuing to counter Han Lixian relentlessly. Losing this battle would be a blow to her reputation in high society.

"Good! Very good! Since that's the case, how about checking the surveillance?" Han Lixian proposed calmly.

"Surveillance in this place? Are you kidding?" Gu Yutong laughed mockingly. The location they were in was a small private pool owned by the Cheng Family and situated on the west side of the main villa. It was considered the villa owner's private space, so there shouldn't be any surveillance here.

Han Lixian's soft smile persisted as she raised her hand, pointing in a certain direction. Everyone turned their heads to where she indicated, but there was nothing there, not even surveillance cameras.

Gu Yutong sneered. This woman was bound to face the same humiliation as her sister!

"President Cheng?" Han Lixian's gaze landed on the handsome man standing among other businessmen.

Cheng Yuze raised an eyebrow. Coincidentally, Jian Yu had returned, so he commanded, "Jian Yu! Escort the Second Young Miss Han to the security room!"

Jian Yu could only sigh helplessly as he once again poured his sweat and tears into his current work, leading Han Lixian to the security room as instructed.

Everyone was stunned. Cheng Yuze's attitude made it clear that there was indeed surveillance.

A hidden surveillance!

Yun Ning paled in an instant. If they really checked the surveillance, then what happened earlier would be exposed to all the guests. If the truth came out, she couldn't imagine the consequences she might face. It would be incredibly humiliating!

"Mom...I...I'm..." Before anyone could react, Yun Ning suddenly fainted on the spot. Mrs. Yun was alarmed and hastily instructed people to carry Yun Ning to the car and send her to the hospital.

"You go and check on her! I'll handle the situation here!" Mrs. Yun was determined to resolve the issue at hand. Therefore, she asked Mr. Yun to go to the hospital to check on Yun Ning's condition.

"What a feeble excuse," Han Lixian remarked, observing the scene with disdain.

Seeing that Han Lixian remained stationary, Jian Yu felt compelled to intervene. "Please follow me, Miss."

Han Lixian cast one last glance at the scene before she followed Jian Yu, accompanied by her bodyguards, to the security room. Meanwhile, Mrs. Cheng, who had remained silent until now, stepped forward and walked behind them, accompanied by Gu Yutong.

Observing Han Lixian's confidence in Han Lixin, Cheng Yuze's interest was piqued.

(It appears that the relationship between the two sisters is quite strong.)

Cheng Yuze stroked his chin thoughtfully before heading towards the security room himself.

Inside the security room, everyone was fixated on the monitor screen, which displayed the recent events. They watched as Han Lixin carried a tray of wine glasses, only to collide with Yun Ning, causing the glasses to shatter and wine to spill. Subsequently, they witnessed the heated argument between the two, predominantly comprising Yun Ning's insults towards Han Lixin.

The words uttered by Yun Ning darkened Han Lixian's expression. She had never anticipated such improper language from a woman of high social standing.

In the video footage, Han Lixin appeared unfazed by Yun Ning's aggression, responding with calm and reason.

However, Young Miss Yun displayed no intention of engaging in rational discourse with Han Lixin. The final words spoken by Han Lixin seemed to incense Yun Ning to the point where she advanced towards Han Lixin with hostile intent, only to slip and fall into the water instead.

Amidst the chaos, they witnessed a figure leaping into the water to rescue Yun Ning from drowning. To their surprise, that person was none other than Han Lixin. As they watched the entire sequence unfold on the monitor screen, a heavy silence descended upon the security room.

Mrs. Yun's complexion soured, while Mrs. Cheng's expression grew stern. Gu Yutong clenched her fists in frustration, unable to accept the undeniable truth laid bare before her.

"How about it? Do you have anything to explain regarding this matter?" Han Lixian smiled.

"It's a misunderstanding..." Mrs. Yun laughed awkwardly, trying to settle it without the people outside being aware. This was an embarrassing situation!

"What? It has become a misunderstanding now?" Han Lixian raised her brows, asking in astonishment.

"I don't seem to feel good..." Mrs. Cheng couldn't stand this shameful situation anymore, so she immediately found an excuse to leave.

"You can bring her to rest. I'll settle the problem here!" Cheng Yuze turned to Gu Yutong and said with a straight face.

Gu Yutong nodded and helped Mrs. Cheng out of the room.

Mrs. Yun pursed her lips, speechless. She didn't know how to deal with this. After all, it was obvious that her daughter was in the wrong. If it were only she, Mrs. Cheng, and Gu Yutong staying in this room, things might be in her favor. She could see that Mrs. Cheng wasn't satisfied with her daughter-in-law at all.

However, Cheng Yuze was also present in the room. Given the Eldest Young Master's temperament, she couldn't be unreasonable.

"How do you want the problem to be solved?" Cheng Yuze asked calmly, unaffected by the events that transpired.

"It would be ideal if Mrs. Yun could apologize to Xinxin in front of all the guests," Han Lixian replied.
