The Thorns
The people struck by the attack felt their bodies tremble followed by pain so excruciating it made the afflicted wail madly. Some people held their limbs while others hugged their torsos crying for their mothers, there were those who had been hit on the head and directly perished sparing them from the maddening torture. Screams echoed through the battlefield accompanying the already horrid sounds of the wraiths flying towards the skull.
Boom!! an explosion that carried the sound of rending flesh, silencing the screams of agony. Around four dozen evil soul masters hit by the attack now have a large blue-silver rose growing on. them, sprouting from the location pierced by the thorns. The close bulb of the flowers beat like human hearts as they suck dry their host from crimson roots that wildly continued to infest the body they inhabit. At least a quarter of the attacking soul master were defeated and boosted the morale of the allied troops shifting the some momentum to the federation's side.
Worry grew on the leaders face who had been forced out of his martial soul true body, his left arm was now a gone and blood was now spewing out from the shoulder joint. The cloak he wore was torn away revealing his torso that was covered in scars. He managed to remove the infection by guiding it to his left limb and detonating it. That attack has made him realize that this battle would be their loss if nothing is done soon.
He instantly retreated near the evil soul master guarding the skull to check on their progress. To his dismay it was sixty-three percent full, they needed more death energy. A plan rapidly formed in his mind but before he could act it out he sense the arrival of another troublesome individual. The figure crashed into one of the stronger combatants in the middle of a fight and drag them off like they were rodents being carried away by a hawk. There was another coming his way Tang Jian Ci has caught up to him and is now outside of the barrier to this area.
His foe used vines to create makeshift platform for the broken trains and rail way before grabbing the damage concrete with his martial soul and hurling it towards them. The barrier that covered them withstood it without trouble but it shook when a barrage of plant spears hit it. Tang Jian Ci now stood close and was slamming hard trying to break their protective cover.
"Sir we.. can't win."
"Shut up! now is not the time for one of you to falter. He may be powerful but I can still beat him I just need to heal my arm."
His surprisingly good voice scared the others from voicing out their concerns they knew when he sounded like this it meant that their leader was fuming with rage. The leader then shot up higher into the sky and began to speak with a loud and domineering voice that was amplified by his soul power.
"Listen to me my comrades, today is the day we fight for ourselves! To take what this world has denied from us! To make them know that we will not be ignored and forgotten! That we are not the dregs of society! Show them our resolve! Tear down their symbols of authority! I Shen Hai will lead you into a new world! The world that has been taken from us! No GOO! It is time show them the strength of our glorious purpose!"
When the evil soul masters heard these words their fervor increased. The reverence they had for this man was seen in their actions. The two other evil limit douluo left the battlefield and went to different directions one went to spirit pagoda while the other went directly to the federation's Red Pine City branch. The weaker soul masters strap themselves with fixed ammunition and ran towards the panicking populace as well as the authorities defending them. The title douluos burned their life in exchange for power and proceeded to activate their most devasting attacks.
Tang Jian Ci quickly reacted to this insane offensive, he went into his martial soul true body. His entire body started to glow the same color as his martial soul and his aura erupted.
"Bloom for me!!"
The parasitic flowers on the corpses started to mature opening into fully blossomed roses then they exploded into particles of energy that quickly gathered towards Tang Jian Ci. Shen Hai's eyes widen as he could feel his enemy's strength rising like a unstoppable tide. He knew he could not let this man reach him in strength, with a swift motion he dashed down towards the scepter wielding it himself. It was now seventy percent full but he had to take some of it to boost his strength draining it back down to fifty percent. Tang Jian Ci felt the surge of energy coming from the leader. He knew the soul power he had gathered did not hold a candle to his enemy's but he knew he had to hold him back.
Shen Hai smiled at him before disappearing and reappearing near one of the title douluo slaughtering the evil soul master. His head then change into a gigantic fish maw swallowing a whole person in one bite. He then went on to attack another two title douluo consuming them like fish chum, this sight terrified the witnesses and anger Tang Jian Ci who yelled out while chasing after him.
"THAT IS ENOUGH!!"
Long rose vines whipped out lashing towards Shen Hai. He quickly evaded them and resisted the unavoidable ones with a barrier of fish scales then using his domain he darkened the daylight plunging the battlefield into an artificial night the air turned to sea water once again suffocating those who were too weak to with stand. Tang Jian Ci countered with his own domain, it gave a boost to the stats of his allies and protected them from the negative of effects of the evil soul masters attacks. Shen Hai activated his ninth soul ring and a glowing bulb appeared in the sky illuminating the darkness. It sent out pulses of light that appeared to have no noticeable effects even to the powerhouses.
In response Tang Jian Ci didn't hesitate and the ninth soul ring of his tattoos glowed, behind him an enormous rose bud started to grow out from his domain it continued enlarge as the pulsing in the sky began to intensify. The two powers were rearing to clash when they heard a angry whale cry from the distance.
