63. The Investigation

"How could something like this exist right under our noses, and we not know anything about it?" Professor Klein said as she sorted through the debris.

Her, Professor Shells, and five security officers were walking through the burned out space that existed under the woods. The lab, or what used to be a lab, was exactly where the students said it would be. She found the fake tree that led to the tunnel and followed it to where she was now. Even the current state of the place made sense. They told her that a self-destruct sequence had caused the place to go up in flames. It felt good to know that her team weren't the wrongdoers in this strange situation. With that feeling also came a wave of guilt for what they had been dealing with. Especially Sheree, being used as a Guinea Pig for some sick doctors experiments had to be mentally damaging.
