57. Recon

"What are they doing out there this late?" Professor Klein said from her seat at the table.

A small group of the faculty was gathered in the conference room again. This time they were watching a live feed of the security team's recon mission into the cave. They weren't invited into the command room where the President and dean were. Watching what happened in this room was as close as they were going to get to actually being in the loop. Only Professors Klein, Shells, Milton and Kelly showed up to watch. Everyone else used the excuse that it was the night before the soiree to get out of it.

"What the hell is your team doing out there this late?" Professor Shells asked.

"That's just one of the questions surrounding her team," Professor Milton said from the other side of the table. 

On the screen, the security officers had left the woods and were working their way up the mountain path that led to the entrance of the cave.
