Capture That Feeling

With the never-ending holiday party at home, no one will miss her if she takes the same flight with that tall boy, right? All she has to do is get on the plane, never mind that the plane will bring her from Oslo to China! ------ "Would you like to come into my room, join me with some drinks and hear what I want?" she drunkenly said it at that time. "Don't worry, I don't mean any harm," she said assuring the man before she dropped herself to the couch. "Are you traveling alone? Don't you have any adult companion with you?" he carefully asked as he stood in front of Ellise. "Hey, mister, you must have difficulty understanding, I already said, I'm alone, right?" she answered back. "You're clearly too young to be drinking alone in a hotel room, in a country where you don't know anybody and on top of that you invited a stranger in your room," he said with concern. "Why, you're also too young to be having an affair with a married woman, meet her in a hotel away from the city in the middle of the night. How old are you, anyway?" she sarcastically answered back, avoiding the issue of inviting a stranger. "I'm twenty, and I'm not having an affair with a married woman," he answered with a straight face. "If you're not having an affair why the two of you clearly look like you're hiding," she said, not planning to lost an answer and question interrogation. "Listen, little girl. You better stop drinking because you're already drunk with all of these expensive wines," he said in annoyance. "You see, I have a credit card that has no limit, paying for all of my expenses here. I've been here in Shanghai since the first week of January, and today is my birthday. It's almost two months already, but nobody has come or asked my family if I'm okay." she said in a broken voice. ------- Bookcover by: Sendaline_16

One Used Only

"Miss Ellise, miss?"

A hesitant voice is trying to wake her up, but instead of waking up Ellise buries her face under the weighted blanket.

She was waiting for the maid's retreating steps, but she didn't hear them.

"Miss Ellise, Madame Bae order that I must come down with you to the breakfast room," she said, in a small voice.

She sighed in frustration and threw her blanket away from her body. When she opened her eyes, her personal maid, Anya was smiling cheerfully at her. She doesn't have the heart to be bitchy with her.

"The bathroom is ready, Miss."

She nodded and murmured her thanks, another reason why with all of the maid here in Madame Bae's house, Anya was the one assigned for her was that she was the only one who gets her quirkiness.

Her sleepers should be on the left side of the bed because it's where she usually gets off, the bathroom should be prepared beforehand, her towels, and bath essentials were lined up on the bathroom counter, a block of new bar soap should be opened. She doesn't like using the same bar of soap twice.

After taking a quick shower, she went down with Anya in the breakfast room. While climbing down the stairs she asked her if Madame Bae is having a breakfast party for her to insist on waking her up.

"No, Miss. She is the only one in the breakfast room."

Ellise looked at Anya with furrowed eyebrows. She is now used to Madame Bae's strange ways of doing things but every now and then she would still surprise her.

She didn't ask any more questions to Anya, because she knew she didn't have any more answers to her questions.

"Anya, please have my bath ready."

"Yes, Miss." she answered with a small bow and then retreated to return to her room when they reached the entranced of the breakfast table.

"Good morning, Darling," she said in a sing-song voice.

Ellise mentally shakes her head in wonder, thinking how could she be so hyper so early in the morning.

"Darling, lose that negativity around you," she said, waving her Chinese fan in the air. "Sit, sit. I asked the chef to prepare all your favorites."

Ellise quietly sits down and turns over her cup whereas the maid on standby quickly pours some steaming hot coffee in it.

"Dear, can you put something in your stomach before you drink coffee?" she asked with disapproval.

"I need coffee to be able to talk to you," she said in a flat tone.

She is expecting her to show a sign of annoyance with the way she answered her, but she saw nothing in Madame Bae's expression.

"Eat your breakfast because there is someone coming over later," she said, putting egg benedict on her plate. "You will like her."

She stared at Madame Bae's over the rim of her coffee mug. Seeing that she ever slightly averted her eyes, Ellise knows that whoever it is that is coming over is someone that would piss her off.

"Why do you want to do things when you know that I won't like it?" she asked.

Madame Bae felt guilty that Ellise caught up easily on her plan, decided to tell the truth.

"Well, your mother said that you need to sit down with the person who is coming."

"Are you and my mother playing co-parenting now?" she asked sarcastically.

"Hah! If your mother allowed me to be part of your life since you were young, your mother and her family won't be able to do what they did to you," she said in indignation, fanning herself profusely.

"There is no use talking about such things. I already became this person."

"If you don't want to talk to the person coming, you don't have to," she said, covering her hand with hers. "I'll take care of it,... but my dear, if you don't want to talk to that person, how about talking with me?"

Ellise was surprised to hear Madame Bae's asking her to talk rather than the person who is coming after breakfast, which is her psychiatrist.

Her mother didn't make any drama with her having her own driver kidnapped her on the night of her 18th birthday, in exchange for her sitting down with a psychiatrist twice a month.

Ellise smirked thinking, it's not like having a psychiatrist would significantly change her, hence she agreed to it, just to make her mother shut up.

She has been sitting down with a psychiatrist as far as she could remember and she still has no idea why she needed it.

She is doing just fine. Well, she would admit to the alcohol issues from the past, but her aunt Joy made her drop that bad habit, which she did.

So, she doesn't need any professional help to deal with it, but her mother adamantly demands that she must have a psychiatrist at all times.

She wanted to laugh with the irony of it all. They wanted her to have a psychiatrist when all her repressed issues were caused by them. Most especially her mother and her great-grandmother.

She clicked her tongue towards Madame Bae.

"I don't want you to involve yourself with my mother's way of being a good mother," she said, finishing everything on her plate. "It's too late to fix me." she put her napkin beside her plate after dabbing the corner of her mouth.

The server who is watching her every move, swiftly removed her breakfast plate in front of her, and put a new cup and saucer, then poured her second cup of coffee for the day.

Madame Bae watches Ellise who never used the same thing twice. She was thinking about Ellise coming back to Shanghai to play CTF in her aunt's friend's company. She now believed that the boy who graced her living room a few days back is someone special for Ellise.

For Ellise who never likes things or sometimes people to be used twice, liking the same person for a long time is something monumental. Following the guy she saw once to a foreign country doesn't seem like a big thing anymore when she learned more things about Ellise.
