Capture That Feeling

With the never-ending holiday party at home, no one will miss her if she takes the same flight with that tall boy, right? All she has to do is get on the plane, never mind that the plane will bring her from Oslo to China! ------ "Would you like to come into my room, join me with some drinks and hear what I want?" she drunkenly said it at that time. "Don't worry, I don't mean any harm," she said assuring the man before she dropped herself to the couch. "Are you traveling alone? Don't you have any adult companion with you?" he carefully asked as he stood in front of Ellise. "Hey, mister, you must have difficulty understanding, I already said, I'm alone, right?" she answered back. "You're clearly too young to be drinking alone in a hotel room, in a country where you don't know anybody and on top of that you invited a stranger in your room," he said with concern. "Why, you're also too young to be having an affair with a married woman, meet her in a hotel away from the city in the middle of the night. How old are you, anyway?" she sarcastically answered back, avoiding the issue of inviting a stranger. "I'm twenty, and I'm not having an affair with a married woman," he answered with a straight face. "If you're not having an affair why the two of you clearly look like you're hiding," she said, not planning to lost an answer and question interrogation. "Listen, little girl. You better stop drinking because you're already drunk with all of these expensive wines," he said in annoyance. "You see, I have a credit card that has no limit, paying for all of my expenses here. I've been here in Shanghai since the first week of January, and today is my birthday. It's almost two months already, but nobody has come or asked my family if I'm okay." she said in a broken voice. ------- Bookcover by: Sendaline_16

Escape

"Nah, sitting, and talking to someone for an hour or so isn't so bad," she said shrugging off the matter. "But one of these days I will accept that offer of a talk with you." she stared straight at Madame Bae's eyes

"Darling, I would love it." she enthusiastically clapped her hands then cupped her face on her palm. Ellise just shakes her head thinking that Madame Bae with her eccentricity should be the one sitting down with a professional.

"Was there ever a time when you were asked to see a psychiatrist?" Ellise suddenly asked.

"Yes, dear. And I call it therapist," she said sarcastically. "But it was with my own accord."

"If you don't like it, then why did you go through it?" she asked, with knitted eyebrows.

"Because Darling, every now and then we need saving from ourselves." she smiled.

However, she saw the sadness that crossed Madame Bae's eyes before she could hide them in a smile. Adults are sometimes are as fucked up as kids are. They just grow older, but the ghost of their childhood never leaves them. She wonders if hers will ever go away. She sighed, finishing her coffee.

After breakfast, Ellise went back to her bedroom to take a bath and prepare to meet with her shrink. On the way to her room, she took the long route of passing the side garden than go directly to her bedroom.

She stood in the middle of Madame Bae's roses garden, under the morning sun. She took a deep breath and told herself all the things she had to say to her 'therapist' as Madame Bae would like to call it.

But it is what is it. She needed professional help to sort out her emotions and all the voices that keep on screaming in her head. They can call it any names they want, but the reality still stands. She is broken.

Ellise felt the corner of her eyes stinging, but she refused to cry over these things all over again that she buried her nails on her palm to divert her pain.

"Miss Ellise, your bath is ready."

She snapped out of her daze when she heard Anya's voice. She blinked her eyes to make sure no tears will ever fall from her eyes, then cleared her throat before answering her.

"Thank you, Anya. You make take your rest," she said in a cheerful voice, but she averted her eyes as went to her room.

When she opened her room, she heard her phone ringing from inside her bedside table where she usually kept it for the night. She saw DT's name flashing on the phone screen when she checked her phone.

And she doesn't know what comes over her that she answered the call. Maybe she just wanted someone familiar to talk to. She changed her mind as soon as she clicked the accept button but she already heard DT's voice saying hello, that she wasn't able to drop the call, or because she doesn't want to.

Because of how easy it is to drop a call if she really wanted to, she thought to herself.

"Why are you calling?" she asked in a monotone voice.

"Do you remember that game we used to play before?" he asked.

Ellise looked at the phone in her hand thinking did DT dial the wrong number. Why is he asking about a game they used to play? They played too many computer games before she doesn't remember most of them. She got bored easily she wanted a new game every time DT would come over to play as part of their deal.

"No," she answered sternly.

"Well, understandable. It's been years. But they are having an event at the H mall today, would you like to check them out?"

Ellise totally dumbfounded on where did DT get the courage to invite her for a game event. She was rendered speechless on the other end of the line.

"They are releasing a new upgrade, I think you would like it." He said when he didn't hear Ellise speaks. "I got us tickets from a friend," he added.

"Okay," she said, dropping the call as if it would bite her. She threw her phone on the bed, watching it like it will come after her. She was baffled on why did she say okay.

She had an appointment with her therapist today. She shouldn't meet DT outside of the WIZ club, she should maintain a professional relationship with him and nothing more. In her subconscious, those are the things that are running. Logical thoughts, but her lips curled up into an excited smile.

While in her conscious mind, which is supposed to be more logical is screaming inwardly with the thought that she's going out with DT. He invited her!

She spun on her heel to have the bath that was waiting but almost forgotten because of the unexpected call. Feeling giddy she found herself humming a song while she sits down on a tub full of lavender scent.

She was still humming while she was putting on her clothes. Asya prepared a pair of cream slacks and a white silk polo shirt, but since she is no longer going to meet her shrink she exchanged the slacks for faded ripped jeans.

She towel dry her hair and then put it in a high ponytail tying it up using a red silk handkerchief. She swiped a red lipstick on her plump lips, spray her favorite perfume, and then slipped her feet on black ankle boots.

She grabbed her phone and hurriedly went out of her bedroom. When her bedroom door closed with a soft thud she remembered that she only have thirty minutes before her therapist arrived.

She took the other direction away from the living room, taking the back door that Madame Bae's helpers are using to get in and out of the second floor without announcing their presence while doing their respective tasks.

Ellise didn't have an idea why she is running away like a fugitive when she could cancel her appointment with her therapist and informed Madame Bae that she will be out, like someone with good manners.

But Ellise was already sprinting on her way to the corner, two streets away from Madame Bae's house where DT is waiting for her.
