...

In the Kranjcar residence in Naples.

This mansion faced the emerald coast, very close to the airport and surrounded by many tourist attractions.

Gothic, Baroque, and Renaissance-style buildings had become another scenic spot. And finally, there was the sea and the beach, more attractive than any other scenery.

Except for the slightly hot weather, it was a place that could make a long vacation even more enjoyable.

Kasugano Haru's shoulders felt heavy, and his mood was quite bad.

It should have been a pleasant trip. In a travel group full of girls, he was the only boy. He had thought this situation would be paradise.

But he was wrong.

The Valkyrie had gone berserk and ridden off on her sun-chariot to who-knows-where.

Then, when he caught Erica and planned to use her body to soothe his wounded soul, Liliana had burst in and interrupted everything.

It wouldn't have been a problem even if they were half-undressed – a "Knight's Tale" could have been a good start. But just as he had Liliana, the shy silver-haired fairy, on the bed, clothes removed, and was about to proceed…

Kasugano Sora appeared, holding a kitchen knife she had gotten from somewhere, and pressed it against his neck.

What a series of frustrating setbacks! For the next four days, he was constantly interrupted. He should have just come alone. At least he could have secured two goddesses that way.

On the fifth day, Haru got out of bed refreshed and headed for the bathroom.

After brushing his teeth and washing his face, someone attacked him from behind.

Because the attack carried no malice and posed no threat to him, and also because of his overconfidence in his own strength, he was caught off guard.

He was subdued, his hands and feet cuffed, and his eyes blindfolded. Then, he was taken outside the villa and placed on what seemed like a rubber boat.

Although he could easily break free from these restraints, Haru was in a state of disbelief. He had been taken down without any resistance.

What a humiliation! He, a Sage being, had been subdued! Although he had prepared a counterattack the moment he lost his balance, he sensed a familiar presence and allowed himself to be taken away.

Haru was filled with self-pity, his face dark as he muttered to himself. "Next time, no matter where I am, I need to maintain a certain level of vigilance. After all this training, I was still taken down by such a simple attack"

About twenty minutes later…

After drifting out to sea on the rubber boat, Haru, still wallowing in self-pity, was released from his restraints. He then heard a voice filled with queenly authority.

"Finally, it's just the two of us. I've been looking forward to this for a long time."

The speaker was Erica Blandelli.

Her slightly tousled golden hair, with its hint of red, looked magnificent. She wore a triumphant expression.

Haru sighed helplessly, flicked Erica on the forehead with his finger, and said, "Don't do that again. I almost retaliated with a punch. You almost got yourself killed, you know?"

"I'd love to be 'killed' by you right now. There were too many people in the villa. I couldn't find a single chance to be alone with you,"

Erica said, her cheeks flushed. She had been the most restless during the past four days, and as a result, she had been closely watched by the others. Having finally found an opportunity, she chose the open sea, far from the villa.

Because he had just woken up, Haru was only wearing a pair of shorts. Erica was in her swimsuit. Together with the small rubber boat, they looked like a couple enjoying a romantic boat ride.

Haru closed his eyes, lay down on the boat, and sighed. "I can't accept this if it's outdoors."

"It's just open air. I've already cleared the area of any unwanted guests," Erica said with a bright smile. With her golden hair, she looked as radiant as the sun.

Haru opened his eyes to this beautiful sight.

Then, his shorts were pulled down slightly, and Erica shifted her swimsuit to the side.

Blood stained the rubber boat.

Haru reached out and gently stroked Erica's furrowed brow, his eyes softening as he looked at her. "How does it feel to have your wish fulfilled?"

"Not good at all. It was terrible! Didn't the book say it would only be slightly painful? It felt like I was slashed by Liliana" Erica complained, pinching Haru's neck.

"It's very painful without any foreplay. Don't you read the whole book? And wait, you've been cut by Liliana before?" Haru looked at Erica in surprise. He never thought they would actually fight with swords. In his perception, they only bickered at most.

"That book didn't mention anything about foreplay! Could it be...? Damn those bootleggers! I knew they were too eager to lower the price. They actually tricked someone as shrewd as me! I shouldn't underestimate the abilities of those street vendors," Erica said, seemingly trying to change the subject.

Haru smiled, his eyes fixed on her face.

"Well, it's normal to get cut. Liliana is very serious when she fights. A magic knight who combines magic and swordsmanship is very difficult to deal with.

Thanks to the rivalry between our societies, every exchange ends up with me and Liliana fighting. Is the reputation of our societies really that important? Why do they make me fight my only friend?"

Erica's eyes teared up as she recalled their childhood duels. This was the first time this girl, who always maintained her confidence and lioness-like demeanor, cried like an ordinary girl.

"I have no friends my age. I even learned social skills to make friends, but everyone who approached me had ulterior motives. They weren't interested in me, Erica, but in the title of Blandelli."

Haru listened silently to Erica's confession. It was just like the setting in some light novels, a delicate and fragile heart hidden beneath a strong and confident exterior.

"When I was little, I thought that if Liliana and I married the same man, we wouldn't have to pretend to be enemies.

Then Liliana said, 'Only a Devil King could do that, right?' So for a while, I fantasized about my future husband being a Devil King."

Erica smiled wistfully, recalling a happy and amusing childhood memory.

Haru rolled over, pinning Erica beneath him.

The calm sea suddenly became turbulent.
