Mount Vesuvius

A continuous rumble echoed from the sky as the clouds above were blasted apart, forming a series of overlapping smoke rings. Red-tinged lava was torn asunder, revealing the fiery molten rock beneath. In just minutes of fighting..

In the myths rewritten by Athena, Perseus was depicted as the goddess born from the union of Haru and Athena, a natural-born Earth Goddess who earned the title of War Goddess through battles with foreign Gods.

Therefore, according to the myths, her skills were unparalleled, a divine artistry extracted and fused from the spiritual memories of all outstanding martial artists throughout history.

Facing such terrifying skill, Doni abandoned all defense, focusing entirely on offense. Wielding his silver arm, he unleashed a barrage of world-rending slashes, targeting Perseus from all directions.

However, Perseus moved like a leaf caught in a fierce wind. With a twist of her waist, a flick of her leg, and a sweep of her arm, she flowed effortlessly through the currents created by Doni's attacks.

The slashes seemed to pass through her like air, causing no harm.

The Sword King's power, manifested as the world-splitting Silver Hand. It granted him the ability to transform anything into a silver sword and unleash slashes that could sever all things.

Yet, Perseus, with her divine techniques that defied human physics, flawlessly evaded every attack. No matter how powerful an attack, if it couldn't connect, it was meaningless.

Both understood that a single successful blow from Doni could turn the tide of battle. Perseus, fully aware of this, adopted evasive maneuvers to counter the Sword King's relentless assault.

But constant evasion wasn't the War Goddess's style. With another sidestep, she dodged a slash and gracefully raised her thin sword.

The blade vanished in a blur, replaced by a dense net of shimmering sword light, trapping Doni within its inescapable web. A flurry of clangs and slashes filled the air.

It was the Invisible Thrust, executed at divine speed. The thin sword's sharp tip gave it exceptional piercing power, while its slender blade made it incredibly light and agile. Thus, high-speed thrusting was the rapier's most effective attack method.

Doni's vital points were all targeted. How many hits had he taken? Two thousand? Three thousand? It didn't matter to him. The thrusts only penetrated about two centimeters into his muscles. The wounds weren't severe.

He could withstand such attacks thanks to the Stygian Undying Body, an Authority he had usurped from the Heretic God Achilles in Greece.

Perhaps it was the inertia of fate? Having lost Siegfried's Steel Undying Body, he had gained the similarly defensive Stygian Undying Body. Doni's growth had returned to its original trajectory.

But he knew that if this continued, he would eventually fall.

He couldn't evade the thrusts executed at divine speed. Perseus's unpredictable movements rendered his most powerful slashes useless.

The wounds from the thrusts weren't deep and were quickly healed by his Undying Body, but the thousands of severed muscle fibers slowed him down. It was enough to make him suffer.

If not for his ingrained fighting instincts, allowing him to use his undamaged body parts to move with calculated force, he might not even be able to wield his sword.

Eventually, the battle turned into a war of attrition, a contest of magical energy reserves. However, a god's magical energy always surpassed that of a Godslayer.

Furthermore, the War Goddess relied on skillful attacks, while Doni had to maintain both the Silver Hand and the Undying Body. The Sword King was being pushed to his limits by the War Goddess Perseus.

This is what I fear most about War Gods. facing a War Goddess head-on is suicide. Returning to the Age of Gods is useless.

The hidden resurrection Authority can only be used once. After that, it's still death. The dire situation troubled Doni greatly.

...

"O. Undying Sun, grant me your swift steed! O swift steed, bring the radiant wheel of victory before me!" A resounding male voice echoed through the sky.

In the previously darkened sky, a horse wreathed in golden flames appeared. A thick rope was tied around the horse's neck, connecting it to a miniature sun radiating boundless light. The horse, pulling the sun behind it, galloped towards Mount Vesuvius.

Seconds later, the sun and the volcano collided in a blinding flash. A deafening roar shook the heavens as a massive crater, a hundred meters wide and bottomless, was blasted into the volcano's peak.

Then, with a resounding boom, molten lava erupted from the depths, spewing sulfurous volcanic ash that quickly polluted the surrounding atmosphere.

The distant coastline of Naples lit up as the residents, realizing the volcano was erupting, descended into chaos. Panic, carjackings, murder, arson, looting – all sorts of crimes erupted.

Mithra, tall and powerfully built, rode the golden-flamed steed, his body enveloped in black madness.

Golden light swirled around him, revealing fleeting glimpses of fanatical believers within. Prayers and praises emanated from the golden light.

Can I only maintain this for an hour? It's enough. Mithra frowned, sensing the clash between the souls of his believers and the madness. His gaze fell upon the molten hell below.

"Come out, vile thief! This Mithra, shall bury you here today and reclaim my divinity!"

A figure appeared behind Mithra. With a furious roar, the figure's arms blurred into a frenzy of motion, wielding a sword. "You dare interrupt my battle? Do you wish to die?"

Silver sword light tore through the sky, creating a massive fissure that stretched to the distant horizon.

A sense of extreme danger washed over Mithra. He leaped from his steed, narrowly escaping the slash at the cost of his mount, which was cleaved in two.

Before Mithra could regain his balance, a beautiful, golden-haired goddess appeared. Her hands shimmered with faint ripples as she unleashed a barrage of thrusts at divine speed, piercing Mithra's body with thousands of tiny holes.

Golden divine blood flowed from the wounds, sizzling and vaporizing the lava as it dripped onto the molten rock.

Mithra's enraged attack with the burning sun had successfully provoked both of them. Perseus and the Sword King now joined forces against him.

"Hmph!" Mithra grunted, drawing his sword to counterattack.
