CHAPTER FIVE

**Cypher**

He sat quietly in the room before the elders and watched in disgust as they kept talking about nothing but the future of the pack.

"Why can't the future decide itself?"

He muttered under his breath and picked at his food with the cutlery provided.

He hopes Kaylan doesn't mess up and show up beautiful tonight, that's the only way to keep these men shut and keep his brother in his place.

"Don't you think I should bring anyone random as your Luna, these people are keen on crowning anyone with a Luna!"

His beta and best friend, Zane, uttered out, disturbed and he glared at him.

"The crown and throne are mine!" I

He fired at him.

"Yeah, not with your brother looking this calm. He has someone."

Zane complained and a sigh escaped his lips.

"Do you even know who I am

Zane?"He rolled his eyes at him and focused on his meal."Yeah, a pompous rude jerk!"

Cypher glared at him and they cleared their throats grabbing his attention.

All this was a nonsense procedure, as the first son of his father, the throne belonged to him and the Moon priestess gave her announcement. It's just obvious that he's not needed here using a Luna as a disguise.

"The Alpha from the southern region found his mate!" One of the elders started as he forced the food down his throat and his eyes almost watered while he continued. "As well as the Alpha of the Northern Region, I know we all know the Redstone Pack, the largest wolf pack."

Cypher banged his fist on the table at that statement and glared.

"Why the fuck are you bringing this up?" He was so pissed that he would mention the Wolf's Pack in his midst as a comparison to getting a mate.

"I'm just stating a fact that they have a mate who happens to be their Luna!" The elder murmured and he glared at him.

"Don't you ever fucking mention the wolves in my sight again!"

He warned and he nodded.

He hated the wolves with every living fibre in me, it's funny why he harboured such feelings toward them since they were far stronger and better but his dad's death had to do with their dangerous poison.

He's so sure that he didn't die a natural death and that's why when Kaylan was brought into the Pack as a random rogue they saw along the way of Crescent Moon Pack, he went berserk.

He promised to show her hell in paradise and he's glad that he didn't get to kill her cause she couldn't have saved his ass right now by being his Luna.

"We'll be crowning whosoever has a Luna in the next full moon which is in four days, that's why we kept this meeting so as not to disappoint the moon goddess when she arrives." He continued said and Cypher scoffed

"Save yourself the strength, I'll call my lady so we can wrap this all up. I'm already getting tired."

Gareth said and he scoffed and whispered some incoherent words to his alleged Beta whose face grew wide in shock but stood up anyway.

Since his younger brother has decided to be stubborn, he would see who wins this crown.

Deep down, He felt like shit that he didn't have a mate after all these years. His heart clenched in pain at the realisation that hit him about others getting their fated mate every full moon but he couldn't. The last full moon was the same, he went back looking dejected and almost cried out in frustration.

"Was I cursed?"

He would ask the moon goddess about this all the time and pray for his mate to come to me. He doesn't care who she is but he will protect her with the last string of his life.

"I'll make sure I care and love her senselessly 'cause I've waited more than ten years since my eighteenth birthday to have her in my arms."

He said Inwardly and hoped for the best.

Kaylan's scent swirled in his nose and he looked up in anticipation and smirked.

She looked different.

The dress he gave to her fits perfectly and her features were accentuated perfectly but that wasn't it, she was shaking terribly with fear and anxiety and the moons knew how he would rip her apart if she dared mess this up for him.

"Why is the maid here?" One of the men asked and he sighed, it's obvious they all know that she's their thing.

He opened his mouth to say something but Gareth beat him to it.

"She's here to choose her Alpha and would become Luna." He grinned and Cypher's heart slammed rapidly, wondering what he meant by that.

They looked around in confusion and he continued." What? She gets to choose who she wants to be with and we get this done at the full moon."

Goodness! Why is he so calm? All this while, Kaylan's face was bowed and he had a terrible feeling.

"But she's a wolf?" They all murmured.

"And so what?" Gareth and Cypher chorused sternly and he passed Gareth a death glare which he returned to him.

The elders sighed and shrugged, looking over at her.

"Fine, who is your Alpha?" They asked her.

The room became silent and Cypher could feel everyone's heartbeat, particularly his which was beating rapidly.

He glanced around to notice that the servants were staring too, waiting for her to make a move when she suddenly went limp and collapsed on the floor.

Gasps filled the air as Gareth rushed to her, feeling her pulse, extreme worry taking over his face but Cypher growled Inwardly and stood up to check on her.

"Get your hands off her!" He half yelled at Gareth who he stared at him disgustingly before turning to the elders.

"Excuse me?" He scoffed menacingly.

"Move away Gareth" He hissed and gritted his teeth.

"She's the one, I've chosen her as my Luna!" He yelled and turned to him. "So kindly fuck off."

He yelled and blue Cypher punched him so hard to the ground and gasped followed.
