"I can't believe you!" Bakugo glared as you two walked down the street, away from the restaurant.
"I can't believe you yelled at me in front of everyone." You glared right back, "You said you were going to be better-"
"You tried buying dinner-!" Bakugo cut in, "-I am the man, I asked you out on this date, I buy the dinner!"
"I was the one who wanted to go to that ramen shop, but you still beat me to the check." You replied, making Bakugo smirk victoriously.
"Not my fault you're slow."
"Oh, I'm the slow one?" You questioned. "Remind me-" You instigated, "-who won when we sparred?"
"I let you win!"
"Really?" You smirked, seeing him getting worked up. "Is that what we are gonna call it?"
"Shut up!" Bakugo glared, "You're making me regret asking you out!"
"Well, if that's the case I can walk home alone-" You turned to walk away but Bakugo spun around, catching your hand in his.
"Like hell you will-!" Bakugo pulled you to his side. "-the date is not over yet, your attention is still mine!"
"Where are we going?"
"Like I'm going to tell you." He rolled his eyes, "It's a surprise."
"I don't know if I like those." You responded.
"Guess we are going to find out then huh?" Bakugo smirked, gazing at you from the corner of his eye, he held onto your hand tightly not letting go as you rounded the corner music could be heard. You began to get curious, and Bakugo could tell, he began to walk slower to annoy you.
"Come on!" You whined, pulling his arm trying to drag him along. It didn't take long for you to get down the street at a familiar park where a little festival was taking place. "Wow!"
Bakugo watched you light up, how excited you became walking through the aisles of foot stands and fun game activities set up. His heart caught fire when he won a stuffed animal for you, you were so delighted.
"Thank you, B-!" You went to thank Bakugo.
"Call me Katsuki." Bakugo said out of the blue, his ears craved to hear his name on your lips.
"O-Oh." You blinked, "Are you sure-?"
"If I wasn't sure I wouldn't be telling you to!" Bakugo looked down at you annoyed.
"Look!" You jumped excitedly pointing at another stand with blinking lights. Bakugo smiled at how distracted you got around things that were sparkly.
Bakugo watched with wide eyes as you gleamed; at that moment he couldn't understand what you saw in him. He always intimidated everyone who ever came close to him, hell even his own classmates feared him. Why were you so different? What did you see in him others didn't?
"You want that?" Bakugo raised an eyebrow, watching the vendor hand you a small little keychain instead of another large prize he had won.
"Yeah!" You grinned, holding up the plastic keychain of a small Pomeranian dog. "It reminds me of you."
"What the hell-!?" Bakugo snipped. You tuned him out, looking at the small shiny keychain you held in your hand as he dragged you by your hand with a line of curse words. After a while Bakugo led you to a clearing on the other side of the park, where people had collected facing the large pond.
"Huh?" You didn't understand why there were people everywhere sitting on blankets. You looked at Bakugo, "Where did you get that?" You questioned seeing Bakugo spreading out an orange blanket, the two of you were under a large tree nearest to the water away from everyone else.
You watched as he lowered himself to the ground, the muscles in his arms flexed under his weight.
"You gonna stand their gawking or what!?" Bakugo snipped, looking up at you his brows knitted together. You quickly joined him on the blanket, setting down your stuffed animal beside you with your keychain you looked out to the pond, the water seemed almost black as the night grew closer.
"What are we doing?"
"Just sit and wait damnit!" Bakugo replied, his attention on his other side. You tilted your head, wondering what he was doing. After a moment he turned around, holding a can of your favorite soda and a bag of sweets.
"When did you get all of this?" You wondered.
"You don't pay attention when there are shiny things nearby." Bakugo smirked seeing your annoyed face.
"I do too!" You defended.
"Then why didn't you notice me buying any of this?"
"Aah..." You trailed off. "...shut up." You pouted causing Bakugo to laugh, you were stunned by the sound spilling from his chest, you loved every note as a desire to be the reason he laughed blossomed rooting itself inside your chest.
Bakugo noticed you shivering lightly against the chilly wind, so he removed his jacket and forced you to put it on, you weren't getting sick on his watch.
A loud explosion caused the surrounding people to cheer with glee, Bakugo grinned, turning to see the fireworks lighting up the night sky. He was excited to see how you would react to these, he figured you hadn't seen them before.
You felt a pair of clawed hands grip your shoulders, pulling you backwards into the past. You looked around as loud explosions echoed off the chipped walls, causing your small seven-year-old body to flinch and curl into itself.
"Why are you not practicing-!?" A crude voice spat; sharp pain stung your skin as tears filled your eyes as you quickly raised your hands trying to summon a spark of fire. "-do you not want to eat tonight!?"
"Hey-!" You snapped your eyes to your left; Bakugo's handsome face filled your sight as the dark room you were forced to train in drained from sight. "-get back here!" He ordered.
"Wh-What?" You asked, blinking your eyes looking around. Another firework shot off, causing you to flinch, those same stained hands reached up your back sending cold chills along your skin.
"Damnit!" Bakugo cursed seeing the fireworks were triggering something inside you. Without thinking he used his arm to pull you into his lap, his legs wrapped around you. "Hey!" He yelled into your face, he watched as the light slowly filled your eyes.
"B-?"
"I told you to call me Katsuki." He corrected, "Where the hell did you go!?"
"I... I'd rather not-"
"Look at me-" Katsuki cupped the side of your face, "-I'm never going to let anything happen to you ever again. I'm going to protect you even if that means from yourself, so get outta your damn head and remember when you're with me, I'll never let anything touch you."
"B--Katsuki..." His name tasted tasty on your tongue; his heart skipped hearing you use his first name. Katsuki eyes flicked to your eyes then to your lips, slowly he leaned forward giving you the chance to push him away if you wanted.
Your eyes closed as Katsuki pressed his lips against yours.
He wrapped his arm around your head supporting it as his other arm snaked around your body holding you tight against him. Your hands were pressed against his firm chest.
Katsuki's lips were surprisingly soft, like a flower pedal. Your stomach felt like you ingested a pack of rubber bands, and they were tangled up inside your gut. Your heart hammered against your rib cage rapidly, it was almost painful. Your head was spinning kicking up fog as you lost all sense of your surroundings as you moved your lips against his, following his rhythm.
Katsuki was gentle as he led you through your first kiss.
You were breathless by the time he broke apart, his red eyes glowed against the night sky. Your chest heaved staring up at him, a cocky smirk spread across his face as he lifted you up, leaning you against his chest he placed his chin on top your head and wrapped his arms around you.
You felt secure, like you were a piece of chipped glass being wrapped in bubble wrap. You felt yourself madly blushing as you tried to focus on the fireworks sparkling the night sky with their light.
You flinched at the next one to go off, Katsuki tightened his grip around you. After a moment you became mesmerized by the fireworks, as you gazed up at the finale all Katsuki could do was watch you.
