Chapter Fifty Three

You snapped awake, sweat glittered your skin as your chest heaved collecting air into your distressed lungs. You pulled your hands to your sweaty forehead, rubbing strands of hair that clung to your damp skin out of your face. You scanned around your bedroom as the nightmare that raged chaos on the surface of your brain slowly dissolved into the deep of your mind out of your reach.

Pulling your legs to your chest you leaned your head on your knees gazing around at the many little plug-in scents that lit up you used to hide from the darkness that threatened to submerge you.

"(y/n) are you awake?" All Might's mighty voice echoed down the hall through your bedroom door.

"Y-Yeah!" You cleared your throat.

"We are gonna be late!" All Might replied.

"Fuck." You breathed, quickly ripping the blanket off your legs.

On the edge of UA's campus, about a five-minute walk from the main school, UA built a student dorm. The Heights Alliance constructed it in just three short days.

"Given everything that has happened, I'm glad we are able to bring Class A back together." Aizawa stood before his class in front of the new dorms.

"So, we all got the go ahead to move on-campus-!" Sero cheered, looking at all the faces he missed the past two weeks. "-awesome!'

"It took a lot of convincing for my parents!" Toru sighed.

"I was concerned about mine too." Jiro agreed.

"Makes sense-" Ojiro commented, "-Jiro you got the worst of the gas attack and Toru, you and (y/n) had to deal with Nomu."

"I'm glad to see the teachers got to come back too!" Asui added. "I was afraid you wouldn't be allowed Mr. Aizawa. The people at the conference seemed to be pretty upset with you guys."

"Yeah." Ochaco nodded.

"I was surprised as well-" Aizawa admitted, "-but circumstances have changed."

"Hey-!" Kaminari spun around, "-speaking of Nomu-" Toru cringed hearing the polluted word. "-where is (y/n)!?"

"At the hospital." Mina drearily answered, sleep stung her eyes.

"What!?" The class instantly panicked.

Bakugo, Shoto, Mina and Midoriya already knew this since you were closest to those four and kept them updated.

"Nothing bad!" Mina waved her hands, awkwardly laughing. "She is there for a checkup!"

"Why would you scare us like that!?" Asui breathed holding her chest.

"I'm sorry-" Mina sighed, "-but (y/n) got hit really hard...she hasn't bounced back like the doctors thought she would, so they are unsure if they are going to clear her to move in the dorms-"

"What!?"

"Can a doctor really do that!?" Kirishima angrily demanded.

"Yes." Aizawa answered, "It doesn't matter if (y/n) or her guardian both granted permission. If her doctor says no, then the school must abide."

"Was she really that bad?" Sero slowly wondered, "I-I didn't get to see her before she was taken by ambulance...and every time we went to the hospital as a group no one was allowed in."

"Yeah." Toru kept her eyes low. "...she was that bad..."

"Toru..." Ochaco moved to hug seeing chunky tears appear in midair.

"I was useless!" Toru jumped into Ochaco's out reached arms. "All I could do was watch as she fought those things!"

"Toru, you are not useless-!"

"I just stood there as that Nomu sliced open her leg with that chainsaw thing. I was frozen hearing her scream in pain! I-I-"

"Toru-" Aizawa stepped closer, "-I spoke with (y/n), her version of the story is much different than yours."

"What do you mean?"

"You willingly made yourself into live bait, drawing attention from the Nomu's off (y/n) which is why she was able to stay a step ahead of them." Aizawa finished, "You are what kept her and Yui from Class B alive."

"Really?" Toru breathed, "You really think so?"

"I know so." Aizawa nodded, "Because that is what (y/n) told me. You three were faced with an impossible task, most pro-heroes themselves can't even stand against one Nomu, you ladies faced three."

"Your badass Toru!" Sero jumped.

"Yeah!" The rest of the class joined in.

Bakugo rolled his eyes, if that was the case where are all of Toru's injuries? Why was (y/n) and Yui in such bad condition and she is freely walking around? Bakugo clenched his jaw but could hear you inside his head, telling him to leave the girl alone.

"Each student dormitory holds one class-" Aizawa went on to explain. "-girls are on the right and boys are on the left. The entire first floor is a common area. That's where you'll find your kitchen, baths and laundry rooms."

"Wow!" Toru gasped as the class made their way inside.

"There's even a courtyard." Sero stared out the window.

"So spacious-!" Mina spun around, "-and new!"

"I'm living in a mansion!" Ochaco's head spun as she collapsed.

"Uraraka!" Ida turned.

"Doth mine ears deceive me!?" Mineta drooled, "Our baths...they are in the common space!? Is this heaven?"

"They are separated by gender-" Aizawa hovered over Mineta. "-and you'll behave yourself."

"Ye-Yes sir!"

"Living quarters start on the next floor." Aizawa continued, "Four boys and four girls on each level, everyone gets their own room-"

"We have balconies!?" Midoriya breathed, "Wow!"

"This room is about the same size as my closet at home, I guess I can manage." Momo muttered to herself.

"It's the size of my house!" Ochaco dropped,

"Uraraka!" Ida rushed to her side.

"This is your dorm assignment, the belongings you sent ahead have already been placed in your new rooms so spend the day unpacking and getting settled. Tomorrow we will resume classes." Aizawa waved as he left.

"(y/n)'s name isn't on here." Jiro looked at the room assignments written on a piece of white paper.

"What!?" Mina quickly looked over Jiro's shoulder, she quickly scanned over the names ignoring the random dorm that was circled in black ink.

"Does that mean she failed her physical exam!?" Toru gasped, "Her injuries are worse than we think!?"

"Calm down!" Mina laughed, "I'll just call her and find out what's going on."

"Right! Good idea!" Toru nodded.

Bakugo glanced at his phone; you haven't answered any texts today...was that because you failed your exam? Was Toru right, your injuries were worse than you were letting on? What did this mean for you and UA's hero course? Were you going to be unable to attend classes, when would he see you!?

"Why isn't she answering!?" Mina growled, redialing your number.

"What if she just played off how bad she really was so we wouldn't freak out?" Jiro guessed.

"No way!" Mina waved her hand, "There's no way that's going on here, right Toru?"

"H-Huh!?"

"You were there, you know how (y/n) is, right?"

"No..." Toru looked down.

"What?"

"I left..."

"You...left?" Mina shook her head, "I don't understand, Mr. Aizawa said-"

"(y/n) sent me with one of Yui's clones to go find help."

"Why would she do that?"

"Because those things...none of (y/n)'s quirks worked against it! She said to go find a pro-hero because...because she didn't know how much longer she and Yui could hold them back from going to camp..."

"I don't believe that!" Kaminari brushed off, "(y/n) has like twelve quirks!"

"Nothing-!" Toru breathed, "-worked. I watched those Nomu walk through her fire like it was nothing, her ice restrained them for only a few seconds. The only thing that kinda worked was her lightening and that is her worst controlled quirk, it drained her!"

"How bad-" Mina stepped forward, "-is she? She lied didn't she!? She is hurt a lot worse than she led on-!"

"Where are you going Mina!?" Jiro asked.

"To find (y/n)!"

"We aren't allowed off campus!"

"She's fine!" Bakugo called, stopping Mina in her tracks.

"What?"

"I seen her." Bakugo struggled, "She is fine."

"What do you mean you saw her?" Kirishima stepped forward.

"We...hung out or whatever."

"Wait-" Kirishima tried processing this. "-you hung out with her!?"

"Yeah." Bakugo lazily replied, "She was pretty banged up but alive. I'm surprised she failed her exam to be honest."

"What did you guys do-?" Shoto joined Kirishima, "-when you 'hung' out?"

"Watched tv." Bakugo rolled his red eyes, "The chick has a busted-up leg, she can't do much-"

"Don't call her a chick!" Kirishima sharply replied, "(y/n) isn't a 'chick'."

"I didn't know you and (y/n) were friends Kacchan..." Midoriya mumbled.

"Why not!?" Bakugo narrowed his eyes, "I'm a great friend!"

"Mhm." Sero rolled his eyes. "So, what I am hearing is (y/n)'s alive and still kicking?"

"Yeah."

"So-!" Sero clapped, "-she is probably just passed out right now. Let's get settled in and in the morning if she doesn't answer we can ask to go to her house to check in on her."

"I guess..." Mina looked at her phone. "...that is the best option."

"Yeah, it is!" Sero stretched his hands out, "I am gonna go unpack!"

It took hours for the students of Class 1-A to unpack their belongings and make their individual rooms their own. After they finished setting up their new homes, they decided to rate each other on how their rooms look. They were laughing, joking around as they made their way back to the common area.

"We said sorry!" Kirishima laughed, patting Bakugo on the back, "We didn't mean to wake you!"

"Well now I'm hungry!" Bakugo growled.

"I can whip you something up!" Kirishima flashed a grin.

"Hell no!" Bakugo glared, "It you cook like you do your hair; I'll be dead in a day!"

"My hair isn't much different than yours!" Kirishima pressed.

"What the-?" Kaminari tilted his head, seeing a skeleton of a man wearing a black suit standing in the common area, his back faced the class.

"I'll call you in the morning." A deep voice rattled from the stranger.

"Who is that?" Jiro wondered.

"Alright." You nodded flashing into sight, smiling as All Might took his leave of the dorm room.

"(y/n)!" Mina breathed, her heart skipping upon seeing you.

Class 1-A soaked you in, your baggy shirt and shorts revealed more of your body than they were used to seeing. The many cuts and bruises that still clung to your skin, your arm and leg were wrapped in white gauze.

"Hey." You waved; Mina ran over engulfing you in a tight embrace. You groaned in pain from the unwanted touch.

"What!?" Mina jumped back, "Are you ok!? Did I hurt-!?"

"I am just sore." You calmly stated, "I'm good."

"But you didn't pass your physical exam!" Toru butted in; you knitted your brows together in confusion. "How are you here!?"

"Says who?"

"You're not on the dorm assignment thing!" Jiro pointed to the paper sitting on the coffee table.

"Yeah, I won't be." You laughed, walking over to the coffee table.

"What!?"

"Unlike the other classes, we have an uneven number of students thanks to me." You explained. "The construction people put the extra dorm on the wrong floor." You held up the paper, pointing to the circled dorm. "This is where I shall be."

"But..."

"By the time anyone realized the mistake, the moving crew had already placed your belongings in the correct dorms and left. The teachers were not about to move everyone's things around simply to put me in an area with all girls, they called me, and I said I don't care, so-!" You held your arms out, "-here I am."

"I'm so happy!" Mina jumped, "We are all together."

You smiled, glancing over to Bakugo who narrowed his eyes onto you noticing the baggy shirt you wore was in fact his! His shirt he had left at All Might's house when he had to carry you in the rain and the two of you got soaked.

His face instantly heated seeing you wearing his black shirt, why did it look better on you than him!?
