Chapter Eight

Three weeks glazed over and before you knew it, you were approved to start attending classes at UA High. You sat in Dr. Shuzenji's office, casually kicking your legs back and forth sitting on top of an exam table listening to harsh whispers coming from outside the door.

"She needs to start school!" All Might harshly snapped.

"I understand that-" Dr. Shuzenji snipped, "-but her body isn't ready for that kind of strain."

"She has been doing nothing but taking tests and being tutored for the past three-"

"Why can't she remain doing just that?"

"Sitting alone all day by herself!?"

"The tutor is there, and your there when you're not at your job!"

"She has been locked up her entire life! Do you really want to do that to her again? She needs to be around kids her age, she needs to make friends and learn how to reenter society."

"Her body is not ready." Dr. Shuzenji stated.

"She's going to be with Aizawa, he will watch over her when I can't. She won't be partaking in the training courses, not until you clear her for that."

"Her body is healing at such an alarming rate-" Dr. Shuzenji stepped closer, "-her body is eating up all the nutrients she has stored in order to heal herself. You know that is why she is constantly starving. You yourself said you were concerned about her lack of sleep, because she can't go a single hour without getting up to eat."

"I know-"

"What if she goes an hour without eating All Might?" Dr. Shuzenji pressed, "Her body will literally starve to death-"

"I know-!" All Might whispered, peeking back into the room at you munching away on a small bag of flavored potato chips. "-I already spoke to the teachers she will have; they have agreed to let her eat whenever she gets hungry, that includes right in the middle of class."

"It all just seems unnecessarily risky."

"She needs this." All Might said, "She needs exposure to the outside world, one that isn't trying to kill her around every corner she takes."

"I am against this-" Dr. Shuzenji crossed her arms. "-but I will sign the paperwork."

"R-Really!?"

"Yes...I may hate that your right, but you have points-"

"Yes!"

"All Might-" Dr. Shuzenji's voice was stern, "-I am serious about her eating-"

"I know-" All Might laughed, "-trust me I know, I have gone out grocery shopping almost every day because she is eating everything in sight."

"You two seem to be closer." Dr. Shuzenji commented.

"What?" All Might brushed off with an eye roll,

"I meant that in a good way." Dr. Shuzenji corrected, "I can tell you two have bonded over these past weeks."

"I mean..." All Might thought for a moment, then smiled. "...it's interesting to watch her find things she enjoys."

"Like?"

"She loves sugar." All Might laughed.

"You don't say-" Dr. Shuzenji gestured to you, who now held a pack of gushers.

"Yeah, I do watch how much she eats though!" The hero defended.

"Mhm." The doctor rolled her eyes but smiled, seeing All Might was slowly stepping into a parental figure role without even knowing it.

----

"Do you have your snack bag?" All Might asked for the fourth time.

"Don't call it that." You muttered, thinking about the colored cloth bag All Might bought you on your second trip to the store, it held all the snacks you were taking to your first day of school. All Might's driver dropped the two of you off, with a wave goodbye to the kind man he sped off down the street.

"(y/n)-" All Might called, turning your attention, "-are you ready?" He asked, offering your school bag.

"Um-" The truth was you didn't know how to feel. Your chest felt like a tight ball of rubber bands as you followed the large hero towards the popular school. "-yeah..."

You don't remember much before Shadow Jack, maybe a couple flashes here and there. You never attended school, you knew that much, you weren't sure what to expect when you walked through those doors.

All Might had a tutor come to the house in order to get you ready for school. The school board wasn't originally going to allow you into UA High due to you having no formal education. Mr. Principle and All Might made an arrangement with them, if you could test out of the proper grades and pass the entrance exam then you could be allowed in.

After weeks of recovery and mountains of books and tests, the tutor passes you with flying colors. All Might held this look on his face when you finished your courses, it was so bright and beaming. All Might have said he was proud of you, and you never had anyone proud of you before, you found yourself wanting to not disappoint him.

"(y/n)" All Might smiled down at you, "It's ok to feel a little nervous."

"I'm not." You muttered, was that what you were feeling? If so, you did not like it. Your heart felt like it was being strangled by millions of tiny little rubber bands and your stomach was doing cartwheels in your lower abdomen.

All Might chuckled, clearly seeing this new emotion written all over your face.

"Mr. Principle and I have already spoken to your teachers."

"You did?"

"Yes-" All Might nodded, "-two of them already knew about your situation and helped me convince the others to accommodate you."

"Accommodate?" You repeated.

"Mhm-" All Might nodded as you followed him through the halls. "-like if you feel tired, you can go to my office and sleep if you need too. Or if you feel hungry you can pull out your snack bag and eat-"

"Don't call it that." You muttered as All Might went on to explain. "The teachers know the importance of your appetite."

"Yeah." You sighed, not wanting any form of special treatment.

"Also-" All Might paused right as you two got to a large door. "-at the end of the day when the students begin to clean, you are to go to the school's infirmary."

"Why?" You wondered, "Why wouldn't I help-"

"Recovery Girl wants to see if she can help you with her quirk." All Might explained, "Also, I don't want you to exert yourself which brings me to the last thing-"

"Oh?"

"When Aizawa trains your class, you are to hang back."

"Why can't-?"

"Until Dr. Shuzenji clears you to participate, this was the deal we all agreed upon. Do you understand?"

"Yeah." You nodded.

"Good!" All Might brightly smiled, lightly ruffling your hair, "This isn't forever, just until you're recovered." All Might knew you would be fine, knowing Midoriya as well as the rest of Class 1-A would quickly take you in and make you feel like a regular student who wasn't randomly transferring in the middle of the semester. "Just follow the rest of the rules we talked about, and everything will go smoothly!"

All Might turned to the door he stopped at and quickly gave it a few knocks. Your heart instantly picked up racing around your ribcage, your palms felt clammy you turned to look up at All Might unsure if this was the best idea. You should be sitting inside a cell right now not attending a hero course. But All Might's bright eyes and giant smile never wavered, he knew this is what was best for you.

Quickly wiping your hands on your school skirt, the door slowly opened. A glaring Aizawa peeked from behind the door, you tilted your head confused to see him wrapped inside a sleeping bag.

"You're late." Aizawa's voice was lethargic, he glanced towards you before glaring back up at the hero to your right.

"Traffic was horrible!" All Might let out a heartily laugh. You furrowed your brows confused, traffic actually was quite nice today.

"Come on." Aizawa sighed, walking away from the open door.

"Have a great day (y/n)!" All Might flashes you a smile and a thumbs up before spinning on his heel leaving you all alone with your cranky teacher. Slowly you turned back to see Aizawa waiting for you. Swallowing the lump that formed in your throat, you find yourself hesitantly walking into the large room which holds twenty-six desks.

Instantly you felt the sting of dozens of eyes. You felt every pore on your body began to sweat at the unwanted attention.

"We have a new student-" Aizawa blandly announced. "-joining our class-" There was a thick moment of dead silence as Aizawa spoke.

"Huh!?" A few gasped; other students rose from their seats at the jolting news.

"A student transferring in this late in the semester!?" A bright red head with sharp looking teeth exclaimed.

"Great-!" A deep voice cracked through the mixed sounds, "-another damn extra to get in my way!"

A... what...?

You tilted your head confused, following the dominating voice to belong to a boy who was kicked back in his desk, glaring at you with glowing scarlet eyes and spikey ash blond hair.

"This is (y/n) (l/n)-" Aizawa ignored the growing questions. "-she will be joining our class from today on."

"How come you're joining our class so late!?" You furrowed your brows seeing a girl with pink skin whose eyes held black sclera and yellow irises staring into you. She held short puffy pink hair that matched her skin.

"Why do you look so familiar?" Another question shot out.

"...uh..." Was all that would come out of your mouth, you felt overloaded.

"Enough-!" Aizawa called out clearly annoyed, "- we are in the middle of lecture you can get to know each other on your own time. (y/n), there is a book on your desk. Turn to page 146 and follow along."

You nodded in response.

"Your behind Bakugo." Mr. Aizawa replied, turning back to the board.

You glanced out to the ocean of eyes engulfing you. No one moved to raise their hand or let you know who this 'Bakugo' person was. You were left standing before the class feeling like a fool, you could feel your face slowly heating up.

You turned back to Aizawa not knowing what to do. You could feel yourself clamming up, the same feeling you get when you are thrown inside your tiny pitch-black cell and left all alone...

"Oi." A lazed hand slowly rose in the air.

You turned; your eyes locked with glaring red orbs. You internally groaned seeing it was the ashy blond who seemed to have an attitude.

Quickly you made your way to your new seat, you were slightly glad to be next to the window, you could gaze out at the beautiful scenery or make a quick escape.

Whichever came first.

Aizawa continued his lecture as if you never interrupted the class. You sucked in a deep breath, running your hand through your hair feeling the dozen pair of eyes blaring holes in the side of your face. You slowly turned to your right and flinched seeing the entire class was locked onto you.

"Holy shit! That's how I know you!" A boy with bright blond hair banged his fist on his desk jumping from his seat, his eyes wide with excitement. "Your-!" The boy didn't get far in his sentence due to Aizawa glaring down at him, even you flinched feeling the rage seeping off your teacher.

"Do you have something to share with the class Denki Kaminari?"

"U-Uh n-no!" Kaminari quickly cowered down shoving his face inside his textbook hiding from Aizawa's gaze.

"Then I can continue on then?"

"Ye-Yes sir!" Kaminari stuttered sweating bullets. You felt your lips twitch, amused by the situation.
