First Believer

[Minor Skill - Lesser Healing Lvl 1]

Description:

This skill channels sacred energy to expedite the healing of minor wounds and ailments. It acts as a potent remedy, promoting tissue regeneration and providing relief from pain.

Note:

The previous owner of this diary, who possessed this skill, was known to have frequently aided impoverished individuals with their healing magic.

Kami stared at the notification in disbelief. His first skill—undeniably crucial. It marked his initial stride toward godhood, unlocking abilities he had only dared to imagine.

He understood the significance of healing powers. They were the hallmark of divine beings, the ultimate testament to his ascendancy. But how could he utilize this newfound skill to sway Esther into becoming his first devotee?

As Kami wrestled with this question, Adelaide's condition worsened. Sweat beaded on her brow, her complexion paling. Strands of hair clung to her damp forehead, lending her an appearance of profound frailty.

Distracted by the sight of the hovering Kami, Esther tightened her grip on Adelaide's weakening hand. Sensing the fading strength, she turned her gaze from Kami to the unconscious figure of Adelaide, her expression a mixture of despair and determination.

"Adelaide!! No! Don't leave me! You can't die! We still have to find your father!!!" Esther screamed in despair. "Mister please! I dont know who you are or what you are, even if you are the Grim Reaper, help her! I will trade my life for hers!"

Her screams ripped Kami out of his thoughts and his gaze fell on the little girl, who was getting paler and paler.

Without thinking further, Kami activated his newly acquired skill.

"Lesser Healing," he whispered so that only he could hear his voice.

Suddenly, a sacred light, filled the room.

It emanates from the white book, reaching every corner and bathing Adelaide and Esther in its divine glow.

Esther's eyes widen in astonishment, as she witnesses ethereal beings, angels, surrounding Adelaide with their heavenly presence.

The angels, adorned in shimmering robes, have a serene and comforting aura about them.

Their wings gently flutter, exuding a sense of tranquillity and grace. Esther watches in awe as they extend their hands towards Adelaide, emanating a powerful and holy light. Adelaide's weak eyelids flutter open, and she turns her gaze toward the angels.

Her eyes reflect a mixture of wonder and surrender as she feels their divine touch upon her. As the sacred light intensifies, Adelaide's frail form starts to regain strength. Exhausted, Adelaide fell back to sleep.

The angels' presence infuses her with a profound healing energy, their divine intervention manifesting as a sacred blessing. Esther, overwhelmed by the sight before her, falls to her knees in reverence.

Tears stream down her face, witnessing the extraordinary moment unfold.

The room becomes filled with a tranquil and otherworldly energy, as if time stands still.

Adelaide's breathing becomes steadier, and a faint flush of colour returns to her cheeks.

As the angels continue to surround Adelaide, their love and healing energy envelop her completely. Esther remains on her knees, her heart overflowing with faith, hope, and gratitude for this miraculous encounter.

The sacred light begins to recede, slowly withdrawing its brilliance. The angels, their task fulfilled, bowed to Kami and ascended gracefully into the heavens, leaving behind a sense of peace and awe.

Adelaide's eyes shine with a renewed vitality, and a serene smile graces her lips. Esther rises from her knees, a profound sense of belief and wonder etched on her face.

Because Esther saw how the angels bowed to Kami before they ascended, she instantly knew who was responsible for the divine intervention.

"Thank you, my Lord! I'm so sorry that I mistook you for an evil being!" Esther begged for forgiveness on her knees while she pressed her head on the cold wooden floorboards of the room.

Kami, still baffled of what he saw.

'Angels! "Real" Angels!! And that skill is a Minor Skill Level 1?? Holy shit!'

After he had calmed down a bit, he saw Esther still kneeling on the floor, too scared to even lift a finger. Trying to build a facade of an supreme being, Kami began his speech:

"Life, my child, is not meant to be completely comprehended by mortal minds. It is an exquisite tapestry woven with purpose, mystery, and infinite possibilities. It is in embracing the unknown, in surrendering to the grandeur of existence, that you will discover the essence of faith.

Seek me not only in grand miracles but also in the whispers of your heart. In the moments of profound joy, deep sorrow, and quiet contemplation, I am there. I am the unspoken solace that eases your pain, the gentle nudge that guides your path, the unwavering love that cradles your soul.

Do not fear your doubts, for they are the fertile ground where true faith takes root. Allow the tendrils of trust to intertwine with your being, to reach towards the heavens. It is through this connection that you will find strength, purpose, and an unwavering belief in something greater than yourself.

In the tapestry of life, my child, your thread is essential. Embrace the divine spark within you, the spark that longs to illuminate the world with love, compassion, and understanding. Open your heart, and let me be the compass that guides you on your journey."

Esther lifted her head and gazed at Kami with new found strength and determination.

[...]

"Yes, Savior.", Esther whispered, her voice barely audible as she bowed her head in reverence.
