Prologue

Bruce sat on the chair looking around at the bloodied warehouse full of dead people who were alive and well not so long ago, as his gaze shifted towards the man who was kneeling in front of him,

"The code?" Bruce asked in a casual voice with his gun pointed at the man.

"Fuck you!" The man said with an angry grin as blood dripped from his mouth. The boy in the suit who had a gun pointed to his head had killed everyone in his gang all alone.

Judging from his face, the boy didn't look to be older than 20, but his ruthless action and power suggested a whole different story.

Knowing death was bound to come soon was the only thing that gave him his remaining bit of confidence. With the way he was dressed and the way he acted, the man was sure, the guy in front of him was surely an assassin hired from the continental.

The way these assassins did their job was pretty straightforward, so death was imminent. It was either kill or be killed.

The first option was out of the question in his situation and the latter was the most possible outcome, so it didn't matter if he gave him the code or not. All it mattered now was keeping his last bit of remaining dignity.

"You know this is getting really boring." Bruce exclaimed with a yawn that couldn't be faker if he tried, "But this job came with a lot of versatility, so I'll list you your options."

"A: I kill you and I get half of my pay."

"B: You give me the code and I'll let you go, which will again give me half of my pay."

"And C, my favorite option of it all, you give me the code and I kill you, which will secure me my full pay. In my humble opinion, you should definitely go with option C since I am kinda lacking in funds due to all this equipment I had to buy for this job. So chose"

The man on the ground didn't say anything except glare at Bruce who shook his head, "You know silence isn't going to buy you any time. I shot you twice in both of your legs and with your bleeding, you still have roughly 20 minutes left, more if I patched you up. So what's it going to be?"

"Getting tortured and dying or just plainly dying." Bruce continued but looking at the man he knew he couldn't get things from him that easy, "I guess, we will have to take the long route tough guy."

Fifteen whole minutes of screaming echoed throughout the warehouse, and then after a loud bang, the whole place was completely shrouded in silence.

Bruce walked outside wiping the blood from his hand as a notification ringed in his head, and a screen appeared in front of him.

"Quest completed, 20000 exp gained."

"Level up!"

"4 attribute points gained!"

"Level 10 reached!"

"Requirement for Mana Core met! Mana core established!"

"User can now use magic!"

"Sigh! so I finally reached level 10," Bruce said with a sigh as he got into his car driving off from the warehouse, "I wonder when shit became so surreal"

--------------------------

Bruce wasn't a normal person by any means. He was a transmigrator with a gamer system.

Being a washed-up usual otaku his life was far from normal, not in an adventurous way but more in hitting rock-bottom in your 20's kind of way.

So death didn't seem that bad, after all, he had somehow managed to get a second chance and with a sweet golden finger. Getting reborn with a system was a dream come true. A life that everyone dreamed of was his.

With the system, he could be anyone as he pleased. A superhero, a mage, an intelligent scientist, an extremely good-looking celebrity... the possibility were endless and the only thing that mattered was leveling up and sorting the attribute points according to the life he wanted to live.

A life that was truly full of endless possibilities.

But fate had some other plans for him as she was a cruel mistress, and she did take a lot from him.

Waking up in the body of a heavily injured boy, Bruce was confused from the very start but soon he learned that he was one of the orphans of the Ruska Roma, as things began falling into place.

He was in the place, that trained John Wick. The Baba Yaga.

At first, he wondered if he was in the world of John Wick, the movie which was about the unknown side of the underworld, full of assassins and dangers.

But the more he learned the more confused he got, the newspapers constantly talked about the scandals of playboy Tony Stark who wasn't Iron man yet, due to his affairs with different starlets, this world even had Captain America as one of its national heroes.

The world he was in was quite confusing, there were characters like John Wick in this world, alongside the world of Marvel and god knows what more. But regardless of it all, one thing was fairly certain, this world was on the next level of being dangerous.

And the more concerning part was that this world seemed to revolve around movies, which was quite detrimental to him since he was more of an anime fan than movies. In fact, he had only seen 4 Marvel movies in total. Other than some memes and clips on youtube here and there, he didn't have a single clue about what was to come.

So considering his situation, being an orphan in Ruska Roma under The Director didn't seem that bad, after all, with his gamer system he had the upper hand and learning assassin technique was a great way to hone his skill and prepare for what was to come.

But who knew training as an assassin would begin chipping his soul away day by day, with the system giving him quests and skills from things he learned, he was growing stronger by the day.

Even The Director began paying more attention to him, due to his talents which resulted in further difficult training. With John Wick now retired, The Director had acknowledged his abilities.

She referred to it as his innate abilities and she was more than happy to create another Baba Yaga in this world.

As Bruce continued to train seriously to level up further, he began changing as well.

Being a normal guy in a previous life who was weak and miserable, he couldn't even imagine killing someone outside his vivid imaginations but with things he was made to do, due to his quests and with no option to escape, he had become someone different.

He had become a man that could kill without a second thought as if it were completely normal.

And that was completely due to the system, which granted him the 'Cold-blood' skill, right after his first kill which allowed him to keep calm in every situation including murder.

Despite the fact that killing had become easy, Bruce opted to target criminals mainly for the sake of his humanity. Killing innocent people just didn't feel right, regardless of the situation.

And with that, The Director was successful in making another cold-blooded killer, within a year the boy who used to be weak was now a terrifying man.

But something changed, one day out of the blue The Director called him to her office to officially kick him out of Ruska Roma, with no rhyme or reason. He knew he was a valuable asset, with his ever-growing talent but The Director didn't give him an answer.

But her last words to him were what bothered him, "Be careful."

Bruce who wasn't even 20 yet didn't have a lot of places to go to, one day he was honing his skill to be an assassin, and on the next, he was homeless and broke.

With his talent and a quest asking him to become a freelancer in the continental, it seemed it was destined for him. Since he didn't have any other choices at the moment, he decided to follow through with it.

Due to his young age, people were hesitant at first but as he climbed up the ladder doing smaller jobs proving his worth as a freelancer, he was getting more decent jobs.

The recent job being one of them which came with a solid pay of 250 grand and 10 gold coins.

The young assassin was becoming one of the hot topics of the continental among the primary operators.

Though most assassins would be happy, Bruce was worried about something else because of it.
