Chapter Two

" So you wanted to pick some medical herbs and the flame tiger just started chasing you?" Su Ren asked.

" Mhm."

" That's fine but why did you decide to run into the inner area why now run out?"

"A group of people behind would have been caught up in my troubles if I had, so I had no choice but to run to the inner area." She answered.

" You know your choice could have led to your death right?"

" Yeah."

' She really is a kind girl, I have no idea why the Woefully Poison body would appear on someone like her but, it has and now she has to live with it.'

" Sigh!!!" Su Ren covered his head and sighed deeply as conflicting thoughts appeared in his mind.

" Senior?" She call softly worried seeing the change in Su Ren.

'Should I tell her?' Su Ren questioned.

'I do not require subordinates as the system can summon them, and even if I had some feelings for her from watching the anime, events I have experienced in this life have already changed me from before.'

'Then with what I've experienced with Yun Yun, she didn't fall in love with me and that's fine, but I'm not the type to run her down so I've moved on, but it's shown me even with knowing the plot and the characters things don't always go as planned.'

Snapping from his thoughts. Su Ren looked at the girl who was approaching him with and worried look.

He looked into her eyes and saw her innocence and purity.

' Even if these years have made me a cold-blooded killer it seems I can't resist such a cute girl.'

" I'm fine, come I'll take you out of the mountain range, my aura probably scared away a lot of the beasts of this area but soon they'll be back." He says as he steps forward and picks her up in his arms.

" Ahhh!" The little girl let out a little scream as Su Ren jumped into the air and two big wings made of fire appeared behind carrying them higher, as the girl grabbed hold of his clothes and buried her face in his chest.

" Hey, what's your name?"

" Everyone calls me Xiao Yi Xian."

"Mhm."

Su Ren then heads towards Green Mountain town at a slow speed to make sure not to hurt the girl in his arms.

As she felt the wind blowing on her the little fairy pulled her head from his chest and took in the view until a look of shock and a little fear appeared on her face.

" You're a Dou king??!" She asked her voice trembling in fear.

" Not really, I'm a Dou Emperor." Su Ren corrected but that just seemed to make the girl even more scared as her face became pale.

Su Ren noticed this and pulled her closer pressing her against his chest.

" Calm down don't worry I won't hurt you." As he spoke his voice lost its normal indifference and seemed calming and warm.

It seemed to work as she calmed down but still looked at him with some caution.

" May I know which Emperor you are?" She asked a little more respectfully than before.

" Just be yourself, I'm not that hard to be with. As for which Emperor I am... well they used to call me the fire demon king when I was a Dou king, I guess it will change to fire demon Emperor now." He says.

" Fire demon Emperor?..... it's you the one that destroyed the Mo family."

" That's right, a bunch of clowns thinking they were more than they were." Su Ren answers.

( Xiao Yi Xian POV)

' I've heard the fire demon king is supposed to be a brutal killer, who is extremely ruthless and willing to kill anyone who gets in his way, but he does not seem like a crazy killer.'

' This warmth.' She thinks as she tightens her hold on his clothes, and her face becomes increasingly red as she realizes what she is doing.

( Normal POV)

The little movement made by her was clearly caught by Su Ren as he smiled.

" Hey, I saved your life how are you going to thank me?" He asked.

" Huh.... what do you want."

" You." He answered immediately and looked into her eyes.

"HAHAHAHAHAHA!" seeing the turning as red as an apple Su Ren started laughing causing her to realize he was joking.

In response, she pouted and looked away.

" But seriously I need a place to stay for a couple of days so I'll stay with you." Su Ren says.

" What?!"

" Stop shouting we've arrived at the town." Su Ren said as the warmth and calmness he was displaying before disappeared as he returned to his usual indifference.

His sudden change caused Xiao Yi Xian to be quiet as they landed on the ground in view of everyone.

Su Ren put down Xiao Yi Xian and whispered to her.

" I'll come find you later I have something to take care of." He says with a warmth and comforting feeling that doesn't match his current expression or the indifference he was emitting.

Then suddenly the pressure of a three-star Dou Emperor enveloped the town as Su Ren's indifference and cold voice echoed.

" The little medicine fairy is mine if any of you touch her, be ready to face the wrath of Su Ren the fire demon Emperor." He says as he flies off.

" When did I become his?" Xiao Yi Xian questioned her face covered in a blush.

'I wonder which one is the real Su Ren cold and indifferent or warm and funny?' she questioned in her mind watching him leaving.

The inhabitants of the town stood around scared looking at her.

" Stupid Su Ren." She says as she notices how scared the people around her are as she walks home.

( Su Ren)

" Even though I wiped out the Mo family there should be a mercenary group about. I don't know if they have any thoughts about her now, but if they do my warning should be enough to stop, even if not I only plan to be away for a couple hours before heading back."

" Since I've decided to help her, I'll make sure nothing happens to her, but for now it's time to meet the protagonist."

"Mu Li I hope you are smart so I don't have to kill you."
