Interview

[Arnold POV]

"You remember when we were in the award show and we started hearing clapping.... In the bathroom. Hahaa oh God, I made fun of those two for weeks." I said to Robert while laughing.

" Yeah, imagine if word got out about that... I can imagine the headlines. ' King of punk or king of spunk. Hahahaa Oh man those two Fucked up." He joked.

"You know, speaking of headlines" Robert started. "How about you do an interview, eh" he suggested.

"You know how I feel about interviews Robert." I had famously never taken any interview by journalists. It just never sat well with me. I had seen enough celebrities being cancelled in my previous life to stay away from that minefield.

"This one will be different. Trust me. It's this wonderful guy called Clark Kent. Sweetest guy you'll meet. He knows what questions he should or shouldn't ask."

'Oh god, this is fucking serious.' alarm bells started going off in my mind. An interview with Superman. Absolutely not. If that guy sees me up close again he'll probably notice me when we meet during an invasion of earth. It was close enough when ge showed up to that fan meetup. Not biting that bullet again.

"Sorry Robert, that's not happening." I immediately refused. "I don't deal with journalists. I don't deal with newspapers. My job is to make music. Not give those guys stuff to bicker about."

"Clark is not like that. Just trust me on this. One interview, for my sake. See I owe that kid, and I promised I'd do him one favour. So please, just 20 minutes of your time. For our friendship's sake." He says, emotionally blackmailing me. And unfortunately for me, it works.

"Dammit, fine I'll give him a shot alright. Jeez you sure are persistent. But no more interviews after this." I reluctantly told him.

"Thank you boy. When are you free. I'll give him the time."

"Tomorrow. Atleast that way he doesn't have time to prepare." I said, already regretting my decision. But still I'd have to meet him someday and I'd much rather meet Clark Kent before Superman.

After this I leave the venue. I head home and head off to sleep.

The sound of waves acts as my alarm clock. I wake up to a view of the ocean. "I sure came a long way from that run down apartment. Oh well, time for suffering." I said while I got off my bed and went got into the shower. After I handled my morning routine. I treat myself to some waffles for a nice breakfast.

While I'm eating Jen comes into the dining room holding my schedule for the day. Yeah, i got a schedule. Man I hate being famous sometimes. Anyways I read what's on there. It's mostly sit in my room, meet with film people for their soundtracks. And yes I can also write soundtracks. It's a hidden feature of the system. It can replay any song I've ever heard, whether I remember it or not.

Anyways, the most interesting thing is the interview I have with the daily planet at 5:00PM.'I'm really meeting with Superman huh. Ah well, it'll be fine. It's not like the world will start to end right after.

I open the door of my car. I'm standing in front of one of the largest buildings in Metropolis. The headquarters of the Daily Planet. I walk inside the building and I'm led to a large comfortable room. It has light blue walls and a beige rug in the floor. It has low wooden table with a glass top and a comfortable looking couch in the middle of it. I sit down on the couch and wait.

Soon a man with black hair and blue eyes walks into the room. He has a muscular build, yet he carries himself in a way that makes him look reserved and nervous. He's wearing a light blue shirt, steel gray suit and a pair of glasses.

"Clark Kent, nice to meet you." I said shaking his hand.

"You know me, sir?" He said in an inquisitive tone.

"I met you, in the fan meetup, was it one year ago?" I told him.

"Ah yes, we did. I have to say, I'm a big fan of your music." He tells me.

"I can see that. After all you decided to interview me." I joke. 'He really acts in the most unassuming way, doesn't he?' I think to myself. It's like the hero called Superman doesn't exist. Though I suppose that's the point.

"Yes, thank you for granting me the opportunity. Now without further ado." He motions me to sit , and we begin.

"So, Mr. Denver. This is your first interview. Why are you so averse to being interviewed." He shoots his first question.

"Call me Arnold. You see, I am a musician, I get enough publicity through my posts and social media accounts so I never really feel the need to. Plus, I'm a musician, so i don't think it's my job to give opinions."

" Okay Arnold. You mentioned and even attacked many celebrities in your songs. Names include Lex Luthor, Bruce Wayne, The flash. What was your angle there, why call them out." He throws me a curveball.

" Attack is a strong word there, sir. I'm merely poking good fun. People attack memorials and publically defile government memorials towards heroes. That's an attack. What I'm doing is merely humour." I reply undeterred.

"Thank you answering that sir. I lot of people wouldn't. Now for a more profession related question, what's your mindset when you write a song." He continued.

" Mainly, I think about what's fun. What would I bang my head to? What could I listen to 100 times on repeat? I ask myself these questions and make whatever I think meets the criteria." I answer again.

Like this the back and forth continues.

"Thank you sir. That was a pleasure." Clark tells me as we walk out of the room.

"No problem, Clark. It was a fun experience." I reply to him, slightly smiling.

"The pleasure is all mine. Now if you would- Excuse me, it seems I have some business I must attend to." He says and walks away.

'Seems like something big is happening. I think it's time for me to make a move. ' I think as I proceed to exit the building as well.
