SAVING BELLA

When we got to the hospital they took Bella to the surgery room, we had to wait to hear from the doctors.

Mark went to the police station to know why the man attacked Mrs Michael, then Lisa has not been herself since Bella passed out. She wouldn't even sit, she kept on pacing around.

"Lisa you need to sit down"

"I can't, Ken why are they not coming out?" She asked in tears.

"Hey, Bella will be fine, we just need to be strong and wait okay" I said trying to calm her down.

After what seems like an hour the doctor came out.

"Are you miss Bella's guardian? He asked

"Yes we are" I answered

"Okay I have a good news and a bad news, the bad news is that the injury on her head is very deep and she loosed a lot of blood, we couldn't find her match so I need both parents to run a test and see who have the right donor" he said

"Doctor what's the good news" I asked

"There was less damage but we need to start operating on her but we can't start without the donor, we kept her stable for now" he said

Lisa left while I was still speaking with the doctor when she came back she said Mr Smith was on his way. Not too long we saw him rushing inside with someone beside him.

It was Bella's mother, what was she doing here.

Lisa was also confused, I know Bella needs to be saved but she is not going to like this.

"Dad what is she doing here?" Lisa asked

"Lisa I don't have any other option, I can't risk Bella's life for anything, she is her only relative I could reach out to"

"I assume you are Bella's parent" the doctor asked

"Yes we are" Bella's mother answered wiping away the tears in her eyes.

"Then let's proceed with the test, this way " he said as he left with her.

I can't tell him he is literally not going to forgive me, what am I going to do my daughter's life is at stake. I felt dizzy, why is all these happening I was finally able to find my daughter but her life is in danger, if I don't say it out Bella might die before we could find a match for her.

"Ma we need Bella's father, he might be our only hope since your blood didn't match with that of your daughter" the doctor said.

"Can I at least see her, please it been years I saw my daughter please doctor"

"She is in no condition to receive visitors but I can let you see her briefly" he said as he leads the way.

I couldn't hold back my tears when I saw my baby girl looking so pale with many pipes connected to her mouth. She was looking so lifeless.

"Am sorry Bella, please forgive me for Being a bad mom" that was the word I could say before I left the room. The doctor asked to see Smith in his office but he came with Lisa and the young man I saw earlier.

"Did it match?" Lisa asked

"Am sorry miss I only asked to see your father can you both please step out " the doctor said ignoring the question Lisa asked him

"Answer the question will you, my sister is dying in there and you are asking me to step out " Lisa said raising her voice.

"Doctor did the blood match?" Smith asked

"No Mr Smith your wife's blood didn't match with that of your daughter so I need you or her sister here to run a test too" the doctor said sighing in frustration.

"Am sorry but am not Bella's biological father and neither is Lisa? He said with a sigh

" what?" The doctor asked " we need to start operating on her or she might be in danger, I have called most of the doctors I know but they couldn't find her match"

"I will call the father" Smith said but I couldn't stand it anymore

"No don't" I said

"Look as much as I hate talking or communicating with your ex husband but now I am willing to do anything just to see that Bella is safe" he said

"I know but I have a confession to make" I said and I felt all eyes on me.

"Okay we are listening" Smith said

I took a deep breath before saying out the secret I was supposed to keep away from him until I die.

"My ex husband is not Bella's father"

"What!!!!!!!" Everybody screamed except for the doctor .

"If Mr Stones isn't Bella's father, then who is" Smith asked me.

"You" I simply said

"What you must be joking right?" He said laughing

"Am sorry, my parents literally forced me into marrying him and you know it, I had no option at that time and when I told them about me being pregnant and you being the father they threaten your life and your career, Smith I couldn't stand them hurting you so I kept Mute on it "

"So Bella is my daughter and you kept it away from me all these time, my own daughter called me her uncle for complete ten years and this is your excuse"

"Am sorry please forgive me am sorry? I said as I couldn't hold back the tears anymore I tried touching him but he pushed me away like I disgust him.

"Are you this wicked, do you know what that girl has been through, she hated the fact that the world had to be unfair to her, because of her past experience she never let any man close to her because she is scared of going through what she did again" he said with so much pain in his voice.

"Am sorry I wanted to but they made me choose between saving my daughter's life and keeping everything to myself, Bella had a twin sister but they took her away the night I insisted on telling you, he took one of my babies away I had no other option but to remain mute just to keep the both of you save" I said trying to let him know I did not do it because I wanted to

"Am sorry but let's leave this conversation for later Mr Smith we need to run the test so this way please"-the doctor said before they both left

"What really happened between you and father in the past" Lisa asked

"Am sorry Lisa but it a long story that involve only our family" I said referring to the presence of the young man that was sitting beside her

"Ken is not an outsider he is also like a family?" She said looking at me, I saw anger, pain, frustration in her eyes

"We use to love each other very much, until my parent forced me to Marry from the Stones because he they have a better background and name and he didn't, he was just an orphan trying to build something out of his but my parent choose money over their daughter's happiness" I told her before I excused myself to use the bathroom.
