The Search

Nero pov:

"Am quite sure the witch is behind all these. Risking the lives of young people just to get an aging map".

Am currently in my dad's office, having a conversation with him".

"She's so desperate that she had to kill to get it" I added.

"Its not just an aging map son, there are many things to it. Now she has the map,she's going need the rib and sacred scroll and am sure she's on her way to get it". My dad said.Why would anyone kill to get a map. Surely there's something about it I thought.

"She had Pablo killed, that means she won't hesitate to kill others who have the rib and scroll". I said staring at my dad,but he wasn't looking my way ,he was staring hard at the ring on his finger. The ring of oath between him and Pedro. The ring that signifies the strength of their brotherhood.

"You miss him don't you?".I asked.

"Who?"he replied. My dad claims to be tough but he has a soft side especially with friends.

"Pablo".I said. He just sighs and gets up from his chair.

" She has the best assassins so far,not a trace was found,not even a smell. But what she doesn't have is a seer, she thinks the last one died years ago but what she doesn't know is that the last seer is with me." He said.

"So what do you plan to do?" I asked.

"Some rituals have to be done within the pack but it means the last seer has to be sacrificed". Why am I knowing all these now. "Why would you sacrifice a person to get something so ancient that its almost non-existent"?

"You would not understand,the power of the gods is not ancient,its real and she needs it and I would go to any extent to make sure she doesn't get her filthy hands on it"

"So what do we do now"I asked.

"We do the rituals and we start the search"

"How can you start a search without a clue? Its not possible".I said

"Son its about time you think like an alpha. To start we need a mole in their creed, that's  how we catch a rat".

"And how are you going to do that"? I asked.

"I thought you had a meeting to attend, I guess you should be on your way now, you know punctuality is a good virtue as an alpha to be". My dad always does that especially when he doesn't want to discuss an issue,so I take the cue and say

"Yeah I should be there by now,goodbye and take care"

"Son don't forget, get ready for the search,cause its gonna be fun". Then he smiled a smile I knew too well,it means, he means all what he said and trouble's not very far away.

This Search is going to be good. And so I smiled back at him. I went out closing the door behind me. I got to my car and got in and started driving to my workplace. My dad makes punctuality compulsory even though am the CEO of the company. And I can't refuse cause am soon going to the alpha of my pack and I guess I need all these virtues. So much for being a leader.
