That evening, Elio had just returned from work. The tall, slim, fair-skinned man looked weary after a long day's work. As he knocked on the door of the house, he was greeted by a younger, slender, fair-skinned woman standing before him.
"I'm home, Vera."
Elio said to the woman. It turned out she was Vera. The woman, who was only about 155 cm tall, warmly welcomed her husband with a bright smile.
"Welcome home, Elio! You must be tired."
Vera greeted cheerfully, opening the door wider for her husband to enter.
Elio smiled thinly, exhaustion evident on his face.
"Thank you, Vera. Today was really exhausting."
Vera took Elio's work bag and led him into the house.
"Come, have a seat first. I've prepared some hot tea for you."
Elio followed Vera into the living room and sat on the sofa. The simple yet cozy living room felt warmer with Vera's presence.
There were several wedding photos hanging on the wall, and some decorative plants placed in the corners of the room, adding a fresh touch.
Vera quickly went to the kitchen and returned with a cup of hot tea. She handed the cup to Elio with a gentle smile.
"Thank you, darling."
Elio said as he took the cup of tea. He sipped it slowly, enjoying the refreshing warmth.
Vera sat beside him, her eyes sparkling.
"How was your day? Any interesting stories?"
Elio sighed deeply.
"Just usual, lots of work to be done. But there was something strange today..."
"Oh, really? What is it?"
Vera asked eagerly.
"I don't know, maybe I'm just too tired,"
Elio replied, rubbing his face.
"But there was something that made me feel different. Like a burden lifted off."
Vera chuckled softly.
"Maybe it's because of my special tea?"
Elio laughed too.
"Hahaha... Maybe. But, by the way, you seem so cheerful today. What's up?"
Vera's face lit up even brighter.
"I just feel happy, that's all."
Suddenly, Vera sat next to Elio and rested her head on his lap.
Elio felt surprised, as it was unusual for Vera to be so affectionate like that, unlike her usual self. He gently stroked his wife's hair, enjoying their moment together.
"Why are you suddenly being so affectionate, Vera?"
Elio asked, curious.
Vera smiled without opening her eyes.
"I just want to enjoy our time together, Elio. Today feels very special."
"Special? Well, maybe."
Elio nodded even though Vera couldn't see him. He felt there was something different tonight, but didn't want to ruin the moment by asking too many questions.
Shortly after, a plump and tall woman with brown skin, even taller than Vera, approached them.
The woman carried a cup of hot tea. Seeing that there was already another tea in front of Elio, she appeared surprised.
"Sorry, Mr. Elio, I didn't know that Mrs. had already made tea for you."
The woman said softly.
Vera smiled and turned to the woman.
"It's okay, Emma. I intentionally made tea for Elio first."
Emma, their housemaid, smiled awkwardly.
"Alright, Ma'am. In that case, I'll return to the kitchen."
Vera shook her head.
"No need, Emma. You can rest. Today is very special, so let me serve my husband."
"Thank you, Ma'am. In that case, I'll just go back to my room."
Emma nodded respectfully and returned to her room.
Vera then looked at Elio with sparkling eyes.
"Elio, I want tonight to be an unforgettable moment for us."
Vera said as she reached for Elio's hand.
Elio looked at Vera with affection.
"You always know how to make me feel special, Vera."
Vera smiled.
"I just want you to know how much I love you."
Elio was touched by Vera's words. He felt the genuine love from his wife.
"I love you too, Vera. You mean everything to me."
"Hmm... But... why are you acting differently today?"
Elio became more curious about Vera's affectionate behavior. He tried to find out what made his wife so different.
"Oh, what's going on? Why are you acting so differently this time, honey?"
Every time Elio asked, Vera just smiled mysteriously.
Vera invited Elio to guess with a teasing smile.
"Come on, take a guess!"
Elio scratched his head, trying to think of the right answer.
"Hmmmm... Did you get a promotion at work?"
Vera shook her head softly.
"No, dear. Guess again."
Elio thought for a moment.
"Did you win the lottery?"
Vera shook her head again.
"No, Elio. Guess again."
Elio felt even more curious. He thought of other possibilities, but none felt right.
Suddenly, a thought occurred to Elio, making him pause for a moment.
"Could it be...?"
Elio's gaze focused on Vera, who was still smiling at him.
"Are you pregnant, Vera?"
Vera's face lit up with happiness.
"Hmmm... Yes, Elio. I'm pregnant."
Elio felt his heart pounding. He felt like he was floating on cloud nine.
"Really? Oh God, this is the best news I've ever heard!"
Exclaimed Elio, his voice trembling.
Vera smiled broadly.
"Yes, it's true. We're going to be parents, Elio. We're going to have our own baby."
Elio couldn't contain his joy. He hugged Vera tightly, feeling an indescribable warmth and happiness. Tears of joy streamed down his cheeks.
"Thank you, Vera. Thank you for sharing this wonderful news."
Elio said hoarsely.
Vera returned Elio's embrace warmly.
"We've been waiting for this moment for so long, dear. For four years, we prayed to be blessed with a child, and now our prayers have been answered."
They both sat on the sofa, still holding each other tightly. Elio felt a mixture of emotions within him, joy, hope, and immense gratitude.
"How far along are you?"
Elio asked, his eyes sparkling with enthusiasm.
Vera smiled gently.
"Two months, dear. We still have time to prepare everything."
Elio nodded, his hand gently caressing Vera's stomach.
"I can't wait to meet our baby, Vera. We'll be perfect parents."
Vera smiled happily.
"I can't wait either, Elio. We'll give our best to our baby."
