chapter Thirty-Seven-Inigo Confesses to Father

Inigo returned home and headed straight to his room, tears streaming down his face. His father entered, surprised to find him crying.

 "What's wrong, Inigo?" He asked, concern evident in his voice.

 "Father," Inigo called out as he embraced him. "I've made a terrible mistake. I almost committed a heinous crime."

Simeon, taken aback, thought, "what a miracle that he's come to me." "Tell me everything," he urged.

 "I feel like a fool, father. I've acted monstrously," Inigo confessed, recounting the events.

Simeon's heart sank. "That's awful, Inigo. You must tell Lisa everything, and let her know her best friend's betrayal.

 "Please stop crying," he added, gently patting his back.

*******************************************************Diego returned home in the middle of the night, visibly exhausted. As Inigo descended the stairs, he inquired, "how is she doing?"

 "It's none of your business," Diego retorted.

 "Aren't you supposed to be celebrating? Go ahead and enjoy yourself," Diego dismissed, heading upstairs and leaving Inigo behind.

*******************************************************Back at the hospital, Rachael waited patiently for Lisa to wake up, stepping outside momentarily, leaving Bea by Lisa's side. When Lisa finally opened her eyes, she found Bea smiling at her, returning the smile. Rachael entered the room with a doctor, calling out to Lisa.

 "Lisa," she said, approaching her. Bea left as the doctor reassured before departing.

 "My dear Lisa, you're such a strong girl," Rachael said, gently stroking Lisa's hair.

*******************************************************The next morning, Diego was enroute to the hospital when a car blocked his path. Both Diego and the driver emerged, revealing Angelica.

 "What do you want?" Diego asked tersely.

 "I heard you're going to marry that cheap slut," Angelica sneered.

Diego's expression hardened. "Watch your mouth," he warned.

 "so you prefer her over me? What does she have that I don't? I can make you happy. I'll do anything for you," Angelica pleaded.

Diego remained resolute. "I don't need anything from you, and I'll never love you. No matter how hard you try,"

 "Then prepare for a war," Angelica threatened before speeding off in her car.
