Chapter 0: The breakers & Without precious talent

In an endless void, existing on a plane far beyond our three-dimensional reality, three vaguely identified figures constantly morphed in shape and size, lacking a definitive form.

"We've finally arrived... now it's time to reclaim this too," declared these entities in an unknown language resembling muffled sounds. These otherworldly beings were referred to as "Breakers," but for now, their stories didn't concern us.

"OUCH! OUCH! PLEASE... stop... you're hurting me!!"

These were the pleas of an overweight boy echoing in a restroom at the Korean high school named "Wheel Tech."

"AS IF WE CARE! YOU FILTHY PIG, NOW WE'LL REALLY BEAT YOU FOR GOOD!"

A group of boys chanted in unison, continuing to assault Mo-Han with kicks and punches until he lay unconscious on the bathroom floor, a cigarette extinguished on him.

{some hours later...}

Mo-Han woke up in the school infirmary with the school nurse, Ms. Han Chinjeol, the most beautiful "teacher" of the school, expressing concern:

"Thank goodness! You worried me, Mo-Han... who did this to you? I'll report it to the principal right away!"

Mo-Han got up from the bed, ignoring that kind and beautiful nurse then walked towards the door with a sad and tense expression.

"No one, Mrs. Han... I fell down the stairs."

He then left, running home in tears, thinking...

(No one cares about me... my parents named me Mo-Han... to them, I'm just an ugly, stupid, and fat son... taking up space and an extra mouth to feed... I have no talent, no one likes me! If I died right now, I'd probably be doing them a favor.)

And in that moment, as he ran, the autumn wind brought a flyer to his face, a flyer that said:

[SPARTAN BUDDIES BOXING GYM! Entrance fee only 10,000 Won per month! Equipment included!]

(What is this?!)

Thought the chubby and somewhat foolish boy, Mo-Han, before examining the flyer in its entirety, immediately acquiring the gaze of someone who had likely found a way out of the misery he was living.

(I've been ignored and ridiculed all my life, by my classmates, my teachers... even by my own family... but from now on, it won't be like this! LET'S TRAIN IN BOXING!)

And so, Mo-Han headed home with newfound determination. As usual, his parents were away for work, and his older brother, who had left for S University a year ago, wasn't around either. He took the 10,000 Won his parents had given him for dinner and promptly made his way to the Spartan Buddies Gym, conveniently located just minutes away from his home.
