Administrative Work

Over the next few days, Kita worked to make arrangements that needed to be made for keeping the Jeager running.

Running a ship was expensive. But even more than that, it was quite tedious. Although Kita didn't expect to run the ship by himself, but there was still a lot of things that only he could do.

One of those things were registering his organization with the government.

The thing with owning space ships in the empire was that no private individual could own and operate a starship larger than a corvette by themselves. Only a company, business or other commercial entity could own a ship that was bigger than a Corvette.

The Reason for this was that the government wanted to keep all of these ships under control and didn't want anyone to gain too much firepower on their hands.

Giving the monkey a loaded gun was a bad idea. That was the principle the Arcorn empire used to regulate the uses of the warship grade ships in the empire.

Although these rules also extended to non-combat assets like supply ships and such, but these were mainly meant for the Combat class ships.

So, legally, Kita couldn't own the Jeager himself. He needed to jump through a few hoops and setup an commercial entity under his own name, and he could list the Jeager as assets of that entity.

It was a bit more tedious than what Kita would like, but he understood the rational of doing this. So he didn't mind.

He went to the local Administration branch proceeded to setup a Private Holding company called Kolld. That was the best name he could come up within a few minutes. The best part about this company was that he didn't need to do anything, this just exited in paper. He was the sole owner of the company and every asset of the company belonged to him.

He also completed a few other paper works while he was at it. He needed to apply for a few other permits for things like, being able to run a Combat Class Ship, being able to purchase and carry live missiles, warheads and other stuff. He also needed to register himself as an Explorer. That would give him access to traveling between the different humans states freely and travel through their borders.

After becoming an Explorer, he could join The Explorer Union which would give him additional perks.

But Kita decided against that. He just needed access to travel freely through the other states. And just registering as an Explorer would already give him that perk. He didn't need the additional troubles that came with joining the union. So he steered clear of that.

After finishing up with these things, he was mostly done with the administrative work that was needed. As of now, he could freely travel through all the human occupied space. He could travel through the borders of not just the Arcorn Empire, but the other's as well.

With all this settled down, he went to a restaurant to grab some food, he had spent the whole day finishing up the paperwork. And he hadn't even had breakfast in the morning. As it was already night, he was really hungry.

He went to a nearby restaurant that allowed pets and grabbed a seat.

He took a look at the menu and ordered some Rice and Curry for himself and a fish dish for Noir.

Rice and curry was his favorite dish as well as one that had a lot of sentimental value to him.

After the server put down the dishes in front of him, he quickly took in the smell. It was different than what he was used to. It didn't smell like Helen's.

He picked up a spoonful and put it in his mouth.

'As expected, Yours is still the best.', Kita said with a slight smile before continuing his meal.

After finishing his meal, he walked around the city for a bit before returning to his Hotel.

Osritch would be here with the Jeager here tomorrow. He needed to back to the Space station tomorrow to complete the handover process.

After getting out of the pod, he quickly looked around the docks. He couldn't see the Jeager anywhere. So he gave Osritch a call.

Osritch let him know that they were still in the outer system and would take a few more hours than expected to reach Nuart II.

So Kita needed to kill a few more hours. As he was already here, he didn't want to go back to the planet. He instead went over the commercial area to look around and maybe buy a few things.

As soon as he got out of the Pod, he got a call from Elena.

"Hey little bro, I need a favor. Can you go and meet this guy? He has a package for me. I've already told him about you. He's expecting you." She said with a smile.

"Huh? Why should I do it? You go and get your package."

"Please? It's important that you pick it up in person." She said.

"Huh? Why?" Kita didn't get why it was important that he picked it up in person.

"I'll tell you later. But, please go."

"Fine." Kita agreed.

Kita followed the direction Elena supplied and went to a narrow alleyway. There was a person with a black suit on and a cigarette in his mouth. Not many people did that these days.

The man noticed Kita approaching him. So, he threw down the Cigarette before stomping on it. He quickly turned towards Kita before speaking.

"Are you Mr. Thiels?"

"Umm, Yes?"

"Good, here you go. Be careful with that. That shit's dangerous." The man said quickly before leaving. He didn't say anything further.

"Well, that was weird." Kita looked at the metallic box in his hand. It was the size of a tablet. But it was quite heavy for it's size. He wondered what was inside. But the box was tightly wrapped.

"Well, Anyway, let's get going." Kita also left the alleyway.

He looked at the time and he had already killed about 2 hours on this task. He decided to grab something to eat before meeting Osritch. So he headed for a Café.
