When morning came, Frank didn't have to leave home early, but he didn't want Flora to notice anything amiss.
On getting to work, he reported to the group chat.
<Frank: Morning people! Are we ready for today?
He got no immediate response.
5 minutes later.
<Frank: Good morning family. Is today going to be a good day?
10 minutes later, still no response.
<Frank: Should Flora and I wait a year after marriage before considering children or should we go for it immediately?
2 seconds later
<Greg: Go for it immediately
<Father Jenkins: Immediately!
<Grandmother James: Twins preferably
<Grandfather Jacob: We can judge your performance when we see results.
<Joy: I can already picture how perfect my grandbaby will be!!
<Mother Jenkins: Start early so that she can have more before 30.
<Grandfather James: One baby per year. That's the right way to go.
Seeing that his phone kept buzzing continuously, Frank was frustrated. He had briefed them so many times during the week, but the only thing these old people cared for were babies from Flora and him. Is nobody worried for him? His proposal hadn't be received yet.
He placed his phone on mute and resumed the day's work. No matter how he tried to seem normal, he could not totally hide his nervousness. He kept going over his plan again and again.
The moment he realized he hadn't confirmed the time, for the 100th time, with Flora, he called her immediately.
Getting her confirmation, he let out a sigh of relief. Still, he worried about Flora. It seemed she had caught a cold over the week. She sneezed and coughed frequently but refused to take any relief medication.
"Maybe the proposal will bring her instant relief," he murmured to himself with a huge grin on his face. He pictured her saying yes repeatedly and jumping into his embrace, and all of his nervousness melted away.
6:00pm
Frank made his way out of the clinic with his phone to his ear.
"I'll send an alert to the group chat about 30 minutes before the proposal so you lot can make your way there."
"Alright," Joy replied happily before hanging up.
As he was about to put the phone away, he saw Flora's message and his heart broke. He really shouldn't have let her go all by herself.
He made his way to the car and replied her.
6:25pm
Frank reached the reception and was pointed in the right direction to the room Flora had gotten. He calmed his heart and looked through the plastic bag in his hand to make sure that all the pills needed were in there.
He knocked on the door but there was no response. He wanted to knock again, but his phone buzzed. It was from Flora.
<Flora: The door is opened.
He twisted the door knob and carefully made his way in. He looked around but didn't see her. He noticed that there was a sitting area. He was a bit shocked. He took a step back and looked outside to see that Flora had opened a honeymoon suite. Was there no simple room available?
"Frank!" Flora's voice drew him out of his thoughts.
"I'm in bed." She sounded a bit weak, so his worry came floating back.
"I'm coming."
Frank rushed into the room. As he went in, the door was banged shut. He turned around in shock. What he saw gave him an even greater shock.
Flora jumped and entangled her arms and legs around him.
"I'm hot!" She said seductively.
A second later, Frank passed out.
With a bloody nose.
