“Ari, we’ll meet you at the Waterway Club,” I told her before Declan and I scooted out. Mom and Maxwell were busy talking to Xavier and Quinn, and we didn’t want to disturb them. I planned to congratulate them at the reception.
Ari nodded. “We’re right behind you. Grayson just wants to make sure Mom and Maxwell get out okay.”
A crease formed between my eyes. “Are you sure you don’t need me to stick around for a bit?”
Ari shook her head, smiling. “No, it’s okay. Grayson will help me with the kids, so I’ll be fine. I’ll see you there.”
I shook my head as I headed toward her. “We’ll wait with you and the kids until Grayson is ready.” After everything that Ari had done for me, there was no way I was going to leave her to fend for herself alone and pregnant with two children—even just a few minutes.
“So, what’s your name?” Declan asked Ashton, smiling down at him.
“My name’s Ashton Pierce,” he replied, wiggling back and forth, itching to run. “What’s your name?”
