Henley
“Well, I hate to say it, but I’m feeling like I’m getting a sunburn, so I need to go.” I took a deep breath as I looked into Declan’s eyes.
“I don’t want to take you back just yet,” he breathed, gently brushing his lips across mine.
“Neither do I.”
He looked deeply into my eyes as he held me. I slipped on my shirt and turned around in his arms, sitting between his legs. He propped his head on my shoulder, watching the ocean waves rush to shore as the seagulls played at the water’s edge.
He kissed my cheek and down my neck, making me feel wanted and loved, even if he didn’t. But I told myself I wasn’t going to worry about it, and that I was going to take one day at a time. So, I brushed the thought from my mind, wanting to enjoy this moment with Declan.
“Why don’t we go to the pier?” Declan whispered, breaking the silence between us. “We can have dinner and a drink, and then we can watch the sunset.”
