Chapter 4

Looking at the meat slice I take a bite, I have gotten used to the taste and after all this only feel slight discomfort at it, I have been in this tower floor for nearly 200 days now and my stats have reached good levels.

His agility or ability to dodge finally increased but his speed was still the same due to his leg while the rest only increased by two, although slow he was growing steadily but surely though still no luck with the second floor or sensing his own energy as although he has attempted to feel it he still couldn't use it at all.

He knew based on the book most could sense their own energy by the number ten and the higher the number the less talent one had for cultivation, and it looks like he is considered a middle grade talent if he could sense it at this point.

After another failed attempt to sense his energy he sighed and got up to return to the circle platform, he has only done the first wave as when you step out of the circle it resets so he has never fought against something better and has been wondering if he should try now but has refrained as he is unsure if he can revive but the book indicated no one has ever died on the tutorial floor meaning most likely I can't now it is time to test that theory by also testing how far I can go with my current abilities.

Entering into the ring he sees the goblin spawn and immediately goes at it using his shirt to tie it while making sure it can't move by cutting the ankles and chopping the claws short, with it dealt with he sits down and brings out the F-rank meat he's bought using his points that have at this point reached nearly 1,100, so he sits and tries and sense the energy by over overwhelming his body with tainted meat.

One slice after another enter him, even as pain erupts all over his body he continues to eat and eat consuming nearly an entire slice of meat when he usually only consumes one thin slice at a time, a chunk the size 14 pounds of meat that had a pork like consistency.

He couldn't see anything his body felt cold and completely detached from my mind, it is as if their was something else inside of him trying to take control of him.

He couldn't tell what was occurring all he knew is that something was different something had changed and then suddenly he was in the same spot he appeared within the tower, he had most likely perished from this attempt after all he had never showed up like this if he was injured or unconscious.

Checking over his body he realizes that he was back to the same state he was just before he entered the circle excluding the meat in his hands where now gone, his first attempt had failed and had ended in him dead.

He looks at the five other pieces of meat he sat to the side for this experiment before walking over and cutting a quarter off the meat slice the same size as the last one and once more entered the circle to repeat the experiment, failure once more he cut one in half and entered the circle sitting on the ground after once more bounding the goblin he consumes the meat and finally he isn't completely consumed by it as soon as he eats it but it still is to much for his body to handle. Still he finally senses the warmth he once felt back when he first ate a slice and with the knowledge he now had now knew to be his mana, he tried to reach out and control but he failed shortly after the first attempt the taint over took him and once more he was at the start point.

Forty percent of a cut then, taking it he tried once more with the same situation as with the half as although he can feel it he has no idea how to control it even with the longer time to try.

Thirty percent is the next slice brought and slowly he feels and senses everything inside him bit by bit he felt the flow of the energy, the weight of the taint in his body, the way his energy seemed to focus around the tainted area as though naturally attracted to it. The two energies fought in him each trying to overwhelm the other, I slowly realize that I have finally truly sensed the energy in my body even if I couldn't control it I now can tell where in my body the mana is flowing through and the pattern it is following.

Bit by bit my energy overwhelmed the taint and finally the effect I wanted occurred as I felt the energy within me but the greatest shock was I felt small amounts of energy around the goblin, I can sense not only my own energy but others as well.

This is probably a hidden but well known fact so I try not to focus on it for now as I finally attempt to control my energy without any tainted energy in it and although sluggish and little more then a drop I control some of my mana for the first time, the book says that you need to balance foreign energy with your own but from what I can feel all the energy within me is my own as all of it is the same feeling and consistency.

Standing I approach the goblin and kill it before exiting the circle to check my body now that this has been done, and once I leave my clothes are normal and my sore muscles are fine while the growth achieved inside the circle still remains.

My resistance hasn't increased yet but everything except for speed increased and all except intelligence and agility doubled making it so my body suddenly entered rapid growth from this event, but the most interesting thing is the fact I gained what I can only call a hidden attribute.

Detection is probably what happened when I felt the energy of the goblin earlier, it was easy to tell it as their is no energy in the tutorial making it clear the only other energy around must be the goblin's.

Knowing it is considered a hidden attribute made me feel very happy though I am sure others also get it the tutorial floor is probably conductive to learn it as the only energy one can feel is your own and another's so without ambient energy achieving the detection attribute was only a simple matter, but I need to capitalize on it by getting use to using it and the only way is using it while fighting so now it is time to put into practice my new enhancements.

Entering the circle I focused on the sensation both in me and around me and when the goblin showed up I killed it quickly as possible then waited to see what would happen, a ding comes asking me if I wish to continue to the second wave which I agree to.

Two goblins show up and I kill one quickly but the other attempts to sneak attack while I deal with one and I feel it approach dodging it before it can even touch me, that is the upside to the detection then.

If you are in a fight against things that can blend in or against many you can keep track of many enemies or find something you can't see allowing you to neutralize both advantages, kill the other goblin I continue to the next wave with 3 goblins then four and finely five normal goblins then the sixth wave alert came and I continued a single goblin appears but it is clothed in robes instead a loin clothe along with a staff instead of knife or chipped axe that is normal for the goblins.
