The event went as smoothly as it possibly could. Guo Ning acted out as the cat burglar that people knew. The only difference would be that while people couldn't catch a glimpse of Hua because of the Dragon's rage, they could clearly see Guo Ning since he didn't have that aura around him.
This actually benefited them. The cat burglar in the rumors was a man of huge stature with a certain intimidation factor. This explanation fitted Guo Ning to a T since he was everything that they thought of him. There were a few gasps of admiration seeing his physique amid all the horror, but Guo Ning heeded to none of it.
Anyway, once they entered the base, it got real simple. Only a few "strong" ones were willing to fight against Guo Ning, and they were beaten way too easy for the rest to even raise their heads.
Since Guo Ning didn't know where the valuables were kept, he politely asked a servant. However, the servant saw this as an intimidation tactic, so he was seriously scared out of his wits.
"This is the room, esteemed guest!" The servant spoke as he pointed towards a door.
"Hey, I'm here to rob your sect, you don't have to use such honorifics towards me." Guo Ning suggested.
"Oh, dear sir, I just can't comply with that. I—well, I admire you and your antics. So, this is the least I could do." The servant said it with an awkward smile on his face.
"Admire me, huh?" Guo Ning mumbled.
He didn't feel good when he heard that. The one that the servant admired was Hua and not him. So, he felt it was unfair for him to get the praise.
"Okay, first of all, he's not actually admiring the cat burglar. He's just scared for his life and is talking random bullshite so that you won't kill him off or something. Secondly, Hua wouldn't like receiving praises for this form of hers. Don't worry." Goldy whispered in his ears.
The dragon was slightly annoyed. With Hua, he could simply do this talk telepathically. But with Guo Ning, he had to look into what and how loud he's talking. With each passing moment that he spent with Guo Ning by himself, he learned how precious his disciple was.
"Mr God, are you a mind reader?" Guo Ning whispered back.
"I can do that, but I haven't done it on you." Goldy assured.
"Hmm, then you deduced it from my expressions. That's amazing." Guo Ning spoke in admiration.
[Ha, if there's one good thing about this guy, it would be that he showers me with praises. Continue doing that!]
{Seriously, I never knew you like getting showered with praises. You always stopped me from overdoing it. Now, what's up with you.}
[Hmm, you see, the ones who shower someone else with praise would always be under someone's subordination. I don't want that to shackle you.]
{Sounds like a noble thought when you said like that. But I still believe that it's just that you don't like me praising me.}
[Whatever. It's not like you're gonna believe me anyway.]
{Aww, Goldy is angry!}
[Shut up! Or else I'll blast you up.]
{Hehe. Okay!}
While Goldy was fuming about how Hua treated him like a child just then, Guo Ning had already got his hands on the container with the sacred pills. It's not like he didn't trust him or something (he didn't), but Goldy made sure to double check whether the ones he brought out were the Sacred pills or not. Thankfully, it was. So, they headed back to the entrance.
When they were about to go, the entire sect personnel came out and waved goodbye as if someone whom they treasured was leaving.
"Does this always happen with Miss Hua when she dawns the cat burglar persona?" Guo Ning mumbled.
"Not really. She relies on intimidation WAY more than you do. Therefore, no unnecessary emotions." Goldy replied.
"Damn, I really thought that the bulldozer sect would be filled with hot-headed people who bulldoze their way through almost anything. How come they're more like the Flowing River Sect in rumors?" Guo Ning sighed.
"Sect names don't distinguish a person, kid. I've seen cultivators who would've hailed as the future in the mediocre sect. So, yea. If names were everything, this wouldn't have existed." Goldy answered.
"You're right. Still, raiding the Flowing River sect would've been better than this." Guo Ning spoke.
"Well, it wouldn't have been this easy then. For now, I believe this was the best choice we could've taken." He replied.
"Is that so?" Guo Ning said as he sped in the sky.
Since there was nothing else to talk about, they were both silent during their return journey to Noncho. However, for a talker much like Goldy, this was a personal hell. Therefore, he poked the bear to start a conversation.
"Hey." He called Guo Ning out.
"Hmm?"
"You like Hua, right?" He asked.
"What—how did you know that?" Guo Ning's face turned beet red when he asked that.
"Ah, didn't I tell you I'm a God?" Goldy sighed.
"You really are one, huh?" Guo Ning's eyes were shining.
"Wait, you didn't believe me then? Wow, I feel betrayed." Goldy spoke with agony in his voice.
"I didn't mean like that. It's just that I didn't trust you that much." Guo Ning honestly replied.
"Hmm, whatever." Goldy pouted before returning to normal. "So, you like Hua."
"Yes."
"Why, though?" He asked.
"She's strong. She's capable. She's everything that I dream about in a girl." Guo Ning spoke like a maiden in love.
"Hmm, what if it's just a simple crush and nothing else? Like, you haven't met up with many women now, have you?" Goldy asked.
"No, but I don't think it's that simple of a crush. I admire her for what she did for me and my family. There are only a few sects who're willing to do what she did." Guo Ning replied.
"Maybe she had ulterior motives." Goldy spoke.
"Maybe… But my family's safe and that's all I need. So, yea. She's my pillar of support as well. How can I not like such a person? Even though I know she doesn't like me back, I'd still be fine with an unrequited love." Guo Ning spoke with a gentle smile on his face.
[If Hua was aware of this…]
{About what?}
[Nothing. You won't understand. You're dense after all.]
Goldy sighed as he looked at the blushing Ning for a moment before continuing their journey.
