Blue Moon Princess

(Silver Tier Winner of WPC #147 #148) *** I just got my freedom; moved away from my house and was about to have a new beginning— alas I died before even tasting the freedom, since I got hit by the renowned reincarnation specialist, truck-kun. But my luck was tremendous as I reincarnated into a new world—as expected, with my memories fully intact. That’s when I realized that the world around me looked eerily similar to the one in a game called the World of Cultivation and I am the heroine—scratch that; this body is just a random mob of this world. My hopes and dreams of living a peaceful life in this world crumbled down right in the beginning, when I learned that I’m bound to die soon from the hands of the main lead. Fret not, this world is one with cultivation. Although there’s just a few days before my uneventful death, I can do something with my cultivation and—ah, my body can’t even do cultivation now, can it? It seems like my luck wasn't that good. Instead, I’ve been riddled with numerous misfortunes. However, don’t think that I’ll give up on this precious second chance that fate bestowed upon me. My intention is to survive. And I’m willing to do anything for it! *** [Note: The artwork in my cover does not belong to me. So, I'll be taking it off if the original artist asks me to do so.] Cover edit: ZinonWonder

Beauty could be a curse

(Back with the first person POV! Yay!)

"Damn, I never would've thought that it had such a story behind it." I glanced towards the sacred pill container and spoke.

"Well, things happened. So, yea." Goldy shrugged.

"By the way, do I look any different after learning this skill?" I asked as I circled around once.

"Hmm, you look slightly more beautiful than before." Goldy replied bluntly.

"Ah, I see. Hehe, are you attracted to me or something? You're being way too honest with your words right there." I spoke with a smirk on my face.

"Oh, boy! It's better to get attracted to a tree than you, if you ask me." He replied.

"Wow, where did that come from? Am I that bad?" I asked.

"Well, I mean, you might be denser than a tree, so there's little to no use trying to build up a conversation with you." He replied.

"Hey! What's up with you calling me dense? I don't get why you're doing that!" I was kinda irked off about this.

This is not the first time he called me dense. And I still don't know why he calls me that. I mean, I'm aware of people's feelings! It's not like I don't know that Guo Ning has a fleeting crush on me and Qiu Si looks at me like a wonderful friend and that Zhangsun Shan completely hates me! How am I even dense, huh?

I could hear Goldy sighing. "See, this is exactly why you're dense." He replied.

"Yea, whatever. It's no use arguing with you. You'll just continue calling me dense." I sighed. "Anyway, is there any mirror here?" I looked around and eventually found one.

I walked towards it and had my first look at my face. Goldy wasn't kidding. Hua looked really attractive. The glistening light brown skin and the hair that looks like I just used conditioner on it—my whole look was perfect.

I looked attractive, but not to the point that I look different to my original self. It's like this—Hua already had a charm about her. Learning this skill just increased that charm to tenfold. In terms of beauty, I'll be somewhere really close to Qiu Si at this point. This made me happy and worried at the same time.

Look, Qiu Si is a very attractive woman. So, to be somewhere near her in looks is in itself an honor for me. However, I'm aware of how she suffered because of her beauty. I mean, many people came around asking for her hand before her marriage and even after it, although the ones who asked her out after the marriage didn't see the light of the day since Zhangsun Shan killed them.

Anyhow, it was hard for her. But everything worked out for her since she was a talented cultivator. So, people were fine, even if she were to live without a man. However, that's not how it works for me. I'm rumored to have no cultivation prowess, which means that people would come around acting like they're doing me a favor when they're the ones getting attracted to me. Ha… being beautiful is annoying, isn't it?

I mean, nothing has happened yet, but I know it's coming. I'm sure that my parents would be at my side if someone asks for my hand, but what if—well, I guess that's something I would've to think about when such a thing happens, eh?

So, once I finished admiring the beauty of Hua's face—my face right now, I guess… I left the room for the first time in many days. The room I was in was really dark, so this light was especially blinding. It took me at least ten minutes to get accustomed to it.

After stepping out of the room, the first thing I did was to head towards Guo Ning. I wanted to see his progress with the unofficial sect members.

"Hey, brother Ning!" I waved my arm around as I saw him.

"Oh, young miss Hua! You look pretty today." He spoke.

This guy didn't back down with the compliment. Nice!

{By the way, didn't you two travel together? Aren't you gonna talk to him?}

[Well, I said to him I'm gonna disappear after completing the task, so I think he believed it.]

{Is that so? Ah, it'll be fun to tell him you pranked him that day.}

[Well, I hope I reach the God realm by then. If that's the case, I wouldn't be lying anymore.]

Goldy chuckled as said that. Seeing me still for quite some time, Guo Ning got suspicious.

"Miss Hua, do you believe in Gods?" He asked.

"No." I gave him a straightforward answer so that he won't think Goldy is my acquaintance.

You see, I'm fine if he knew about it. However, I would like to make it as late as possible since there's always a chance that someone would reveal a secret if we entrusted them with one.

Here's the thing. The empress and cat burglar things are fine. I mean, even if someone's blabbermouth reveals that I'm those characters, everyone would laugh it off than believe in them.

However, if they come to know that I got an ancient dragon helping me along the way, things wouldn't remain the same and in turn, they would threaten my family, which is not something that I'm fond of.

Therefore, I would like it if the rumor spread after I gain enough strength. Or it would be even better if no rumor spread at all. And for that to happen, I can't reveal my strength carelessly before someone unless I'm training with it.

"Anyhow, why are you here, Miss Hua? I thought you'd be going straight to Noncho village after your cultivation." Guo Ning spoke.

"Well, I was gonna do that, but I decided to take a look at our unofficial members!" I spoke as I took a glance at the ones behind him.

They looked well trained and stuff, but their eyes showed fear. Pure unadulterated fear. I wonder what this guy's doing to them.

"Since you've seen them now, are you going to Noncho?" He asked, almost impatiently.

"Ah, yea." I nodded my head. "By the way, the training isn't that harsh, right?" I looked at one of the members and asked.

"NOT AT ALL!" He shouted confidently, but his eyes told a different story.

However, if he was not gonna reveal it, what am I supposed to do?

"Great, then. I'm heading to Noncho. See you later." I waved them goodbye and headed to Noncho with Goldy.
