Nick had teleported away from Loki with the Casket in hand, he was now sitting, cross legged on top of a large astroid that he happened to just see floating past him when he took the Casket from Loki.
He held the Casket in front of himself and thought about what he should do with it, he could absorb all it's energy and turn it into chakra, he could bring it to life just like he did with the Eternal Flame, or he could absorb the cold energy and keep it like that so he can gain some ice powers.
Mmm~ decisions, decisions.
After thinking about what to do next Nick suddenly turned back to the Casket and made the golden energy hidden in his heart and body pass through his hands and into the cold Casket.
As soon as the golden energy passed into the Casket cold air was released from it that wrapped around Nick's arm's, freezing into a layer of ice that slowly crawled it's way up his arms.
It only slowed down when the chakra cloak flared up and kept it at bay, but the damage had already been done and part of the frozen skin started to break away, revealing the sliver, Uru bones and stinger underneath.
Nick gritted his teeth and pushed his golden energy to act faster, so he wouldn't have to suffer longer.
And that's just what it did, the golden energy started absorbing the cold energy in the Casket faster taking the pressure of Nick and beating down on the Caskets resistance.
A couple minutes passed as the golden energy did it's job and finally the last of the cold energy had been absorbed ready to be taken back to Nick's body.
Moving back through Nick's arm's into his blood stream where it was then carried along back towards it home, Nick's heart, where it will then mix the new taken energy with the rest effectively making it into Nick's own chakra that he can use.
As the new energy pumped through his heart and then around his body Nick could feel a slight chill even with the chakra cloak still activated to keep him warm.
The new energy spread out into the body part it was pumped into, feeding into his muscles and tissue just like how his blood would and how his chakra already does, it infused it's self with in his body and his wings and even down to his tail, making its self completely at home.
But this wasn't pleasant for Nick at all, all the other types of energy he had absorbed had just turned right into chakra without any special properties but this cold energy was different, probably to do with its unknown origins and history Nick through as he grit his teeth through the pain.
The cold energy still retained its sharp bite even after being absorbed properly absorbed into the rest of his chakra, but Nick decided to look on this as a good sigh, he will probably be able to get some ice powers from it, even if it's just being able to make ice cubes from thin air it still counts in Nick's book.
...
Nick opened his eyes to the blackness of space, he was not sure how long later as he couldn't tell the time in space and he lost track of time as he endured the painful process of the cold energy infusing it's self into his body.
He then raised one of his hands and focused on the cold energy he felt in his body, pushing it out of his body through his hand.
He pointed his hand out quickly as he felt the build up of energy roaring to be released, the cold energy came pouring out of his hand as cold mists that the formed into ice shards that were thrown to where his hand was pointing, the sharp ice shards shot into the astroid, cutting a deep path into it and only stopping when they met denser resistance.
'Might be useful.' Nick thought to himself as he looked at the white mists coming off his hand, he then returned the cold energy to his body.
And he then stood up slowly, his joint's snapping as he stretched out, he thanked God that he couldn't currently feel the weight of his Uru bones weighing him down; due to the lack of gravity in outer space.
He still needed to work on his muscle training if he wanted to be able to move around easily without the assistance of chakra helping to strengthen his muscles, but he was not able to with all the goings on the last couple days.
And he had no time for his own things because of one little thing... the timeline was off!
The recent events didn't match the MCU at all and so Nick had no time to prepare effectively and so he had to more up some of his plans, which lead him to doing things that might have terrible results, like taking the Eternal Flame and Mjolnir.
In Thor's Ragnarok it was because of Thor's attempts to stop Ragnarok which caused it to come about quicker, Nick wouldn't be surprised if a certain goddess of death ended up on his door step asking for the Eternal Flame to help her take over Asgard, Nick sighed to himself when he through about the little rest he will be getting in the coming weeks, maybe day's.
"Let's just go back to earth for now." Nick said to no one in particular before he teleported away from the astroid.
...
Nick had teleported back into his room, he released the tailed beast chakra cloak and let the black smoke come out from his body, at the same time trying not to think about where the smoke came out of, is it from under my skin or a thin layer covering my skin? Nick asked himself before he shook those thoughts off now that his black and red smoke suit had reformed around him.
"Master Nick, I'm glad to see you back so soon, I was unable to tell you before as you left so suddenly but the Life Foundations space craft did indeed crash a little while back, it was covered up so the news didn't cover it but you should also know that no one survived the crash." Jarvis said to Nick not soon after he teleported into his room.
"Haah~, I'm just not going to get a break am I... how long ago was this?" Nick sighed.
"A little under 6 months ago, would you like me to help you out with everything else Master Nick?" Jarvis asked Nick.
"Yeah, can you tell me how long I have been gone for and where everyone else is." Nick asked.
"You have been gone for two days, Bruce and Tony are downstairs in the workshop, your mother is in the kitchen making a chocolate cake and Ghost is close by watching her make it, Felicia is at Midtown high school, she left a message for you when you get back, would you like to hear it?" Jarvis said to Nick.
"Yeah." Nick said.
"Nick we need to talk after you get back." A message of Felicia voice said through Jarvis speakers, she sounded serious.
"Urr, that doesn't sound good, I should try and making it up to her, any ideas Jarvis?" Nick asked.
"I would suggest flowers and chocolate, but also something more personal that is just between you, like an inside joke." Jarvis suggested.
"Woe, how'd you know all that?" Nick asked astonished.
"I prepared for Master Tony in advance if he ever asked for my help, to far he hasn't." Jarvis answered.
"Yeah, he's not really the type to chase, alright I'm going down to see him now." Nick told Jarvis before he started walking out of his room.
Each step was difficult for him, he could even hear the wood floors splintering underneath his feet and they would probably break right under his weight unless he was using chakra to strengthen it temporarily so he could just walk on it without falling through and making another hole in the house, Nick thought to himself as he made the long walk.
His thoughts actually gave him an idea so he changed his destination, turning from the stairs down and going towards the hole in the floor.
A minute later of slow steps he was in front of the hole that Tony made when trying to land on the roof.
He took one last step and plummeted down.
...
"So I think if I can protect my mind from the effects then I can become the Hulk and still retain my mind." Bruce explained to Tony how was standing next to him as they looked over brain scans, Bruce's to be exact.
"It's a good thought but to really get started on this you need to let the big guy out." Tony said.
"Nick is the only one who can keep the Hulk in check and he isn't here so-"
*BOOM!*
Bruce was interrupted as he was speaking, he was cut off by a very large and loud explosion from behind them, them turned around to a cloud of dust.
Tony quickly put on a repulser and then hooked it up to his ark reactor, and they then hesitantly approached the disk cloud, with Tony ready to fire at what ever it is.
"Urr, a little help would be nice." Nick called from inside the dust cloud, hearing Nick Tony lowered his repulse and rushed into the dust cloud followed by Bruce.
"What happened? Why are you stuck in the floor?" Tony asked as he looked at Nick who was stuck half way down into the concrete ground, with broken car pieces all around him.
"I took a short cut." Nick said as he used all his arms to push himself out if the hole he had made crashing down into the workshop.
"What the hells that? Are you made of smoke now? And what's with that fire above your head?" Tony shouted surprised as he looked at Nick's new clothes and the Eternal Flame.
"Huh? Oh, now these were a gift from Mistress Death." Nick said as he straightened up and pretended to flatten out his smoke suit, "And this flame is just a little something a stole from a god."
"And I can take off the smoke clothes but I'll full on warn you now that I'm butt naked under this." Nick smiled as he wiped the dust out of his silver and red hair.
"No thanks, my ego suffered enough and I don't want anymore feelings of inadequacy." Tony sulked as he walked off back to the table he was at before.
"Haha, how are you Bruce? Has my uncle tried to make you turn yet?" Nick joked to Bruce as he slowly walked over to the new equipment in the workshop, even though Nick was joking around Bruce was far from it.
Bruce frowned as he asked Nick, "Nick, you said Mistress Death, as in the grim reaper? Are you okay? You even mentioned a god, you didn't sound like you were joking." He asked concerned.
Nick paused, turned back to Bruce who was giveing him a concerned look, Nick let out a sigh before he said, "There is a lot more to this universe then you can ever know, this planet is just a small part of it but in the future it will be getting a lot more attention and so it needs you, it needs the Hulk." Nick told Bruce seriously, "I will be enough to stop most threat's but I can't be in two places at the same time, even with my teleporting." Nick stared down Bruce, being deadly serious.
Bruce couldn't help but gulp nervously as he was being stared down by Nick, "What do you mean threats? What could possibly stop you?" Bruce asked unable to contain his curiosity.
"Like I said it's a big universe." Nick said before he turned back to the new equipment and walked over to it and Tony who was standing next to it, leaving Bruce by himself and his thoughts.
"Uncle, I need your help with running some tests... "
...
"Are you crazy?! How could you do this to yourself?! You could have died! What would I and Jen do then, Huh?! Did you even think of that?" Tony screamed at Nick after he had told Tony the story of how he had become so heavy.
"Calm down, my suffering is insignificant to the end result that will come of it." Nick said trying to reason with his uncle who was huffing as the veins in his forehead pulsed from anger.
"You still haven't answered me! Did you even think about what we would have gone through if you died and we didn't even know it?! Did you even think of your mother?!" Tony raged.
Nick sighed in defeat before he said, "No I didn't, but that's the curse of knowledge, you'll understand in the future and then you'll see why I do what is necessary for this worlds better future." Nick said seriously, "I'm sorry ... I'll make sure to secure my life next time, I'm already dating Death herself but I guess I can add a couple more precautions to stop you from worrying." Nick smirked.
Tony wasn't amused, "What do you mean your dating Death?" Tony frowned.
Bruce was also there, standing not far off listening in, he also looked curious.
"Like I took Bruce before this universe is bigger then you can ever know, I'm apart of an ancient race of mutants that look like demons and where later know as the devil's in the Bible... Death is a real woman who watches over the underworld, I met her when I die yesterday." Nick confessed.
"WHAT?!" Tony and Bruce both screamed, but for different reasons, Bruce because of the surprise over learning Death is an actual woman and Tony because he just learned that his nephew did in fact die yesterday and he didn't even know it, his worst fear has come true!
