Carl's changed view on love
If Carl personally didn't take the actions to expel that boy from the school, Zenaida would have become the next target of him. Zenaida must have heard about that boy's characteristics before since he was very famous at school at that time.
Yet, she still took the risk for him.
What if he also didn't take the initiative to expel that boy from the school?
What would she achieve from acting this way?
It would only be a bunch of troubles. She got herself in all this mess just to save a person who she is secretly in love with. She also didn't expect to receive something back from that person too.
Could a person who is truly in love with someone would able to do anything for that someone without any expectations at all?
Carl really doesn't understand these kind of complicated kind of feelings at all but he is truly amazed by those complex feelings. He is truly amazed by Zenaida's love. He doesn't understand how could someone love another person deeply in this way?
Eventhough he doesn't want to get involved in this kind of emotional mess like love at all cost, he is still happy to see how the true love truly look like. He was happy to know that there is something called true love out there.
He was able to know and see all these because of a one person.
That person is Zenaida Carnell and he is really thankful towards her for all those things.
Zenaida Carnell has really changed his view on love completely.
With these thoughts, Carl extended his hand and touched the small note paper while caressing it with his thumb again and again.
Joy who was observing the students with all her attention noticed Carl who was caressing a small note paper again and again while staring at it with a deep gaze. She started to stare at him for few seconds while forgetting her task to observe the other students.
Carl's face was bearing a really complicated expression on his face. It was different from his all the other time usual expression.
Joy has never seen this kind of expression on Carl's face before and she was really surprised to see this kind of expression on his face.
What is Carl really thinking about while staring at that small note paper?
He seems to pondering about something in a very deeply manner.
Soon, Carl changed his expression in to his usual expression. He took the packet of bun on his desk. Then, he tore open the package of it and started to eat it in a graceful manner as he is always doing.
Joy also came back to her senses after staring at Carl for few minutes and she felt guilty about her earlier secretive action.
Carl is really an attention taking person. She even forgot her duty for awhile because of him.
But how could she forget her own duty in this way?
Joy hit her own head with a small force as to remind herself to not act in that way again.
Then, she again started to do her duty of observing the other kids.
Zenaida entered her house through the widely opened door and looked for her uncle. Her uncle was watching the tv and he is lying down on the sofa while spreading both of his hands and feets in a very free manner.
Zenaida called out for him " Uncle Matteo!! "
After hearing Zenaida's voice, Matteo immediately got up from the sofa and started to walk towards Zenaida with a huge smile on his face.
"Zenaida, you came home so fast. I thought that you would wait until the school ends to come and see me. Isn't the school ending at so late in the evening? I thought that I would have to wait for you for so long. It's better that you came home now. I'm really happy to see you " Matteo started to say one sentence after one sentence.
Matteo seems to be very happy about the fact that Zenaida came home earlier than he thought.
Zenaida smiled at him and said " Yeah. The school usually ends at 5 pm. Since you said that you didn't eat anything for the lunch and you don't have money to buy food either, I came hurriedly home after taking a leave from school to prepare you something to eat for lunch. "
After saying that, Zenaida put her school bag on the sofa. She was readied to go to the kitchen to prepare some food for her uncle, even without changing her school uniform before she enters to the kitchen.
But before she could take any step, Matteo suddenly asked Zenaida " Did you receive the money for this month from mr. John? Isn't today the due day which he usually sends you the money? "
Hearing her uncle's words, Zenaida who was facing the backwards to her uncle and who was walking towards the kitchen to prepare the food for her uncle stopped in her track. She didn't take any further more steps.
Zenaida's cheerful expression soon changed and there was a little bit sadness on her face at first. Then, she bore a very serious expression on her face and said to Matteo while continuing to face backwards towards him.
"Mr. John came to see me two days ago and he passed me the money as usual. "
Matteo seems to be very pleased by this matter and said "Then, Zenaida, can you pass me some money too? You know that I don't have a permanent job and it is difficult for me to find a job too. I don't have a single penny with me now. "
Zenaida who was facing backwards at Matteo, pondered for a few minutes and then, she smiled lightly with a very sad expression on her face. Her current expression is the definition of smiling in pain.
