Chapter Thirty-Six

As I came to, I noticed I was being hung by my wrists. I can see that I am in an abandoned warehouse, but that is all I could make out. I am tired and weak. I can barely keep myself conscious. I forced myself to stay woke when I heard my name being called. It was my roommate. She was terrified and crying. I directed my face to her voice. She was being hung up as well but by her ankles and unclothed.

"Sam."

"Anastasia, what the fuck? I don`t want to die. Help me."

"Sam calm down, just breathe."

She was completely gone, lost and hysterical. I don`t know to get her to calm down.

"Shut the fuck up."

We both turned to see Dragan coming through a door shirtless, wearing all black jeans and boots.

"Oh shit, it`s that guy that came to our house. Ana get him to let us go," she cried out.

"Sam calm down and shut the hell up now," I yelled.

Shockingly she instantly silenced herself, but the tears were still flowing down her face. I looked back over to Dragan as he drags in a ceramic tub and sits it in between Sam and I. What is he up to? He then walks over to Sam.

"Make a sound and I will snap your fucking neck. Do you understand?"

She shook her in understanding. He held her body and unhook her, carefully making she didn't fall. Once he directed her to stand next to the tub, he pointed his attention to me.

"I will start by saying no matter what you say the outcome will be the same. I have dealt with your shit for two centuries, allowing you to have to do what you please. With those two centuries, I have warned and warned you. Yet and still you don't listen."

"Dragan I am sorry."

"Fuck your sorry, they don't mean shit. I tried to be nice but there is no point anymore." He grabbed Sam by the back of her neck and threw her into the tub. She screamed in agony as her flesh was melting. Dragan stepped back to avoid any sulfuric acid to get on him. Some of it splashed on me causing me to squinch in pain.

"Noooooooo." I watched my friend be melted alive due to my underestimating him. I now see his true colors. This man is a monster. I cried as the smell of burning flesh smacked my nostrils. The smell was so unbearable, there was no lust for blood to overtake me. Once there was nothing left but the goop of blood mixed with sulfuric acid. I felt as though I lost everything in that moment. Dragan left me there to stare at a tub of blood that once was my friend. He left me in that warehouse for three weeks to starve. A cleaning crew came to clean up the mess. They said nothing to me, as a matter of fact, they would not even look in my direction. They did their job and was gone. I thought he would never let me out until he came well dressed and tailored in his suit. A woman stood next to him holding a duffle bag and a jug of blood. Just looking at it in her hand caused my mouth to salivate. Dragan walked over and released me from my cuffs. My body dropped to the ground. I can hardly stand. The woman handed me the jug and I guzzled the entire gallon of blood. It was cold but I didn't care.

"Hurry and change your clothes. I will be in the car."

Once finished, the woman then handed me the duffle bag. I pulled out a rag and wiped my face. Quickly getting dressed and meeting Dragan to the limo. The woman opened the door so I can get in. Once the door shut, we pulled off.

"It`s been a while and you have nothing to say?"

"What am I to say?"

"Thank you for letting me go."

"Thank you, Dragan."

I watched him as he stares out the window. He looks like something is on his mind.

"We have to go over some changes in your life."

"I am listening."

"You will now live with me. I should have never let you get your own place. A prodigy is supposed to stay by their sire`s side anyway. The next thing is the woman you saw earlier. Since I know you love to escape and try to run away to make dumb decisions, she is there to accompany you. Wherever you go, she goes and if you need anything, she will assist."

"Alright, Dragan. Is there anything else."

"No."

I have no more fight left in me to defy this man. He won. He broke me. We sat there in silence for the rest of the trip.
