"Selena!".

"Luke?".

"Thank the Goddess you woke up. You scared me". He hugged her tightly like he don't want to let her go.

"What happened?". Selena asked curiously.

"You passed out and we can't wake you up!". There's a hint of worry is in Luke's voice.

"I'm sorry I think I overworked myself".

"You think?..... You really overworked yourself. I thought I'd lost you". Luke gave her a warm hug. He was so worried when he found out that Selena fainted and nothing can wake her up. He almost went on rampage when there's no doctor can answer his question. Good thing Drew was there to calm him down.

"What time is it?". Selena asked him.

"It's eleven forty". He said casually after looking at his watch.

Selena's eyes grew wide. It's very dark outside. It means night has come. "Today is the full moon!". She said nervously.

"Yes but the high moon is twenty minutes more". Luke sounds like he was correcting her.

Selena's brows knitted in one line. She don't know what to say. Here she is all excited about the full moon but Luke is very calm and relaxed.

"Aren't you going to tell me what to do. Like do I need a chant or do I have to take a bath before I shift". Selena is giving Luke an angry gaze.

Luke only laughed out loud. "Don't worry you'll going to be alright. You're just going to turn no big deal. The most important thing is the after".

"The after?.... What's going to happen after?". Selena was so nervous.

"Of course, after you turn.... You are going to be all mine". And he gave her a sly grin.

Selena lost all her excitement. She slapped Luke's shoulder. Hard. Luke just laughed out loud again.

Ten minutes before twelve midnight. Everyone gathered to the training ground. Others are nervous and excited while some don't care much. They don't like the ordinary human to become their Luna just because she is the Alpha's Mate her status became greater than them.

"Little honey, don't worry a thing. Every first time hurts". Avery said gently.

Selena didn't understand what she meant but whatever it is she will gladly take it for Luke's sake.

Everyone stared at the moon as if they are praying to the Moon Goddess. They howl while in human form. It's like asking their Goddess to bless their new Luna. After the ritual all eyes fall on her. They've waited till the clock hits midnight. The bell in the tower rang and there's like a beat sound that counts up to twelve. Selena close her eyes until she heard the twelfth beat of the clock when she opened her eyes a lot of murmur and buzzing filled the ground.

SELENA DID NOT TURN.

"Luke, what's happening?". She nervously asked him with eyes full of worries.

Luke run to her side and comforted her. "I'm not sure baby, but it's okay, you're fine, everything is going to be fine". His head is in a mess. He have no any clue why Selena did not shift.

"She did not turn, she is not qualified to be a Luna". Amanda shouted with glee. In her head she was thankful that her prayers were answered.

Selena looked at Luke's face and she can see a great sadness and also worries in his eyes. She looked down and felt a great disappointment to herself.

"She's a freak!". Somebody shouted.

Luke got angry and growled. His eyes turned midnight black because of anger. In his face shows that he will shred anyone who will disgrace his Mate.

"She did not turn Luke, it's a law if a human mate fails to become one of us.... She needs to die". Amanda said directly to Selena's face.

"How dare you sentenced my mate to death.... She already have my marked!". Luke is controlling his self not to kill Amanda in front of his own people.

It is also a law that they cannot harm their own kind without a proper reason. Amanda is only stating the truth about their law. The law pertaining the Luna. Selena did not turn means there's no wolf in her blood and she can never mark her mate. She don't have the power to do that nor the right.

"You have to REJECT her Luke, she can never mark you, she didn't even turn". Amanda will pushed Selena to the edge with all her might.

"No.... She already bears my mark and you have no proof that she have no wolf inside her!".

"She didn't turn that means she have no wolf. If you reject her now. Eventually your mark will fade". Amanda is getting mad. She wants to force Luke to reject Selena. "If the mating is not complete she will become an omega. What will happen if she falls in heat?".

"Selena is my mate. If she falls in heat no one will dare to touch her. Only me!". Luke gave his people a warning with his words claiming his mate. Selena is still under her protection.

"Well then... She can never leave this place until one of you give up!". Amanda is glaring at Selena. She can't believed Luke will stand up for her. A lowly human that is lower than a trash.

Stronghold mansion.

Selena came home with Luke's family. She's in a state of shocked. She wants to asked anyone to explain to her why can't she turn and shift like them. Maybe she really is a freak. Her mind is in shambles. She wants to cry but no tears are falling.

"Selena!". Luke calls for her.

She looked at Avery and asked for a spare room. Avery called for servants and asked them to take her to the west wing of the house.

"Mother, why the west wing?". He was surprised by his mother's decision. When he heard his mother ordered their servants to take Selena to the west wing of the mansion he was shocked but stayed quiet until Selena was gone.

"She will be safe there, besides she won't see you for several days". His mother answered simply.

"Why won't she see me?". Luke got confused.

Avery's eyes rolled. "Son, your mate just embarrassed herself in front of our pack. Do you really think she will just run back out there dancing?.... She's only eighteen, she might be powerful and great but she is still a TEENAGER . Do you know how hard for a young lady to be embarrassed in front of her crush. Multiply that feeling a hundred times in her situation now". She rest her hand on her waist.

"But I don't care about what happened tonight. All I care about is her". He felt a bit guilty. He thought everything will be alright. She just need to turn and she's all his. He didn't expect something like this could happen.

"Luke, Selena is not an ordinary person. She's maybe even beyond your league. Have you ever thought to yourself?... Those things that she can do are all extraordinary". Avery paused like she remembered something. "If my suspicion is right.... You'd better hold on tight to her and don't let her disappear from your sight". She gave her son a mischievous grin and a wink then pat his shoulder.
