Chapter 5: Pseudo-Sacred skill

Aser was standing in front of a dungeon with a raid team and as a hunter; not as a carrier anymore. It was his luck that he met someone in the register who was in a hurry for a person to participate in a dungeon. He was 15% of all the earning of this raid. He was thrilled to get this offer. He knew it was evolver level dungeon, the team could easily make a million or Two.

He was waiting for others to arrive while checking his hunter card. He wasn't able control his strength- and his abilities properly. He got evolver level results without using any skill. He was looking at his Evolver hunter card.

The hunter exam was conducted in various machines. They had check 7 metrics before issuing his card to him. Aser just wanted to be a newborn hunter. So, purposely hide his strength but to his surprise. He still got an Evolver rank in the exam. He wondered what would happen if he used his full strength with his skill. He should be able to touch he level of late Evolver. There was one name in his mind when he thought about the late evolver. It was Flunia. He was already in her stage now. He recalled, just a day had past from the giant's incident and he was now as strong as her. He wished he could fight her and get his reputation and prestige back from her. He could also return her kick back to her.

The other raid members came by the evening. Aser quickly messaged Seney that he was going to be late. He didn't share the new of him being a hunter. He wanted to give the news physically in front of her. He was going to change their life. It was his chance gives the life to her that he should have given from day one.

The two members were quiet senior to Aser, when they got to know that he had become a hunter today. They were not even interested to introduce themselves to him. It was still far better than being a carrier or a supporter. There were 4 hunters; each one of them was a Evolver. There were 3 carriers and 3 on support.

Aser followed them and respected them; he had gotten far worse treatment than this and he wasn't even interested. His main goal was to sell the basis he got from the temple dungeon. He just wanted to complete a dungeon raid and sell all the stuff to provide Seney with all the stuff he wanted to.

They entered the dungeon after the checking was done. He checked his basis once.

He purposely left it so that he does not evolve and get good results in the hunting exam. As they entered the dungeon, he quickly absorbed two basis crystals. It was done in a fraction of a second. He was waiting to get the notification of evolution to evolver stage. But he didn't get one.

He absorbed the dungeon, it was an ice deserted dungeon temple ruins. It was very cold. Most of the carriers and supports were carrying the necessary essentials, where the hunters weren't effect the cold freezing temperature.

The hunters quickly took out their weapons to be ready as any time. Aser realized he had a weapon except for the gauntlet he received. He didn't take out as it was a skill and it can be worn in a fraction of a second.

He could see ruin buildings and broken structure covered in ice. Beautiful ice flowers were blooming in the trees. Small ice crystals were falling of the roof. It was the most beautiful dungeon he had ever visited in his life.

Something growled.

The hunters were on the guard. The three of them ran towards the wolf. It was snow wolf, it was using the snow surface to dodge and attack simultaneously. He was told to wait. The three of the senior hunters were having a tough time against a single wolf. He could tell the wild boars were faster and deadly than the wolfs. Aser felt he was stronger than them.

But the wolf was losing mainly because of the number. It was a three vs. one match. Bron landed the last blow to the wolf. The body disappeared and basis was left. Aser didn't do anything; he was just watching he fighting judging everyone's strength and he made money just by standing there. Life sure was unfair to the week.

He remembered something looking at the basis. He checked his basis.

'What the heck ?' He almost shouted in shock.

'What if he never ever was to evolve ever again?' That means he is stuck on the same strength and power for the rest of his life. Aser had different kinds of emotions gathering inside him. He felt lost and clueless.

He looked a little scared and started calming down. He needed to relaxed; just getting heated up or angry will give any solution to the problem. He was taking his time to digest the fact and following them like a ghost. Not even knowing in which direction they were going.

The trio were fighting every time. They noticed the sudden difference in the attitude of of the new hunter. They understood, Aser was self realizing his strength and capabilities seeing them fight. It was to hard to fight even if you have strength. The fighting skills and experience of survival has to be learned and experience. It was a art. The Art of survival and hunting was an easy thing to learn. They had to go through a thousand life and death experience to achieve that level. They didn't even cared they just needed one hunted anyway to raid the dungeon.

The raid team went deeper in the dungeon, now after fighting several times. The fight trio looked fatigued and tired. Everyone could see they needed some rest. But they also noticed the fact Aser was not in a good state. He was panicking inside due to something. Alvin even asked him if he was bothered by something he quietly declined.

As they were walking forward, a the snow fall was increasing. The hunters started having a hard time due to the cold. The next moment, everyone frightened seeing the view of a hundred wolfs in front of them. The trio started running the moment, they saw the wolfs; the humans followed them. The carriers had even thrown their bags in order to run faster. Till now, they had only faced 3 wolfs together and it was a close call win. They didn't see a chance to win against a hundred wolfs.

Everyone ran except for one person who facing the wolves with an expressionless face. It showed he didn't even care about the number of the wolves or whatever it was in front of him. Aser was standing alone. There was a lot of frustration build inside him. He was not in a mood of fighting.

He was not carrying anything with him. The wolves attacked him, Aser activated his gauntlets and started the massacre. The raiding team was watching Aser with their eyes open. He single handedly was fighting the horde of wolves. Aser was faster and even stronger compare to the wolves. The wolves were not even as strong as the boars from the temple dungeon. Aser was killing the wolves with one hit from his gauntlets. The wolves were getting slaughter as chickens.

Aser was killing the wolves, notification was showing in his eyes.

Alvin and the other two senior hunters were looking at Aser with shock in their face. He wasn't a newbie at all. Aser was not just leading in strength, but also in agilely and experience. His footwork was so good that the wolves could not touch him.

Bron spoke, "That's a pseudo-Sacred skill with him. This is the second time I have seen one.

"Pseudo-Sacred skill??" Alvin reacted.

Bron explained, "Otherwise, there is no way that he can kill a wolf in one hit."

"Pseudo-Sacred skills are usually earned by tremendous luck and effort. You know how hard, it is to get a skill. But to get a Pseudo-Sacred skill, you need to attack the creature when it's evolving. Killing it will be easy as it is in the process of evolving but the chance to find such an opportunity is rare. Even if you kill the creature, there is no surety if you will get the pseudo-Sacred skill or not."

"The gauntlet should be worth in 10s of millions."

The massacre was complete. The carriers and supports ran back to start collecting the basis. As Aser alone was fighting the wolves, he used the opportunity to absorb few basis and saw that his basis count is increasing.

"Absorbing Basis means I am absorbing power, as long as my body is absorbing power. I should be fine. I need to find more knowledge about the basis." Aser thought to himself. He felt a lot a better after the massacre. He felt there were conditions not fulfilled to evolve farther.

The moment he returned back. He became the star and most important person of the squad.

Bron was one to spoke and told to drop the plan to go farther as the snowfall was increasing as the go ahead. The dungeon was odd for some reason. They had made more than enough for the day. An Evolver level Basis was worth 200k per piece and they had more 100 of them. They had already made more 20 million in a single raid. Alvin being the youngest of the group was dancing as they had made the highest amount of basis in the history of their carrier.

Aser was also happy that he had made a lot of money for a single day. He had killed most of the monster but he didn't receive a single skill from the wolves.

Aser got a basic experience that the ratio of getting a skill is 1 in 200 or 300. That means for every 200 to 300, he would get one skill as per his calculations.
